Awmws 68 thank you for saying that. Everyone is so quick to say don’t CA my TX. Has anyone ever heard of self fulfilling prophecy? Stop saying that so much lest it does become a fast reality. Not everyone from CA or NY is a liberal.
@@holyhunkcutie84 While that may be true, far too many of them are the problem people that we want to stay the hell out of our state. It's almost like if you were to open the national borders... Sure, a lot of them are good people that will cause no issues and contribute, but there's also going to be a lot of assholes, murders, and probably terrorists mixed in with them. to think Texas is very different from CA is a matter of appearances, I can list a big list of low shit in Texas. most people leave CA because of taxes, they will not cause higher taxes. It will be all the Mexomixo politics coming out of the closet, soon they will be majority in all Texas which will ruin your illusions of pride. So hide your guns Hispanic don't vote for guns or constitution they vote for socialism
Also recently moved to TX from CA. Living a lifestyle here I never could afford in CA, and everyone in TX are crazy NICE. It's not the middle of no where like Californians may think, and people are not stupid here. Even the musicians here are top notch (Post Malone, Unlikely Candidates). I moved here and commute to CA for work. Every time I go back I'm more and MORE thankful for TX. PS: I'm not a liberal or democrat. For this I was harassed in CA when folks suspected I was Republican. For this reason alone CA can keep their high prices, high taxes, fake niceness, superficial culture and the overwhelming homeless population
What people mistake about Texas is illegals, racists, normal people everyone lives here and we all find a way to live near each other and work near each other. We don’t always agree with each other but we manage to live among others. Just don’t do something stupid because we all carry guns here everyone
So you mean vote on issues and not what letter is next to someone's name? Because (R) or (D) doesn't tell you much, both main parties have a stranglehold and are full of shit.

I just moved to Dallas (Irving) from OC California. My company paid me more to make the move. My fiance is a Physician Assistant and got hired in a week. We both hated California and never fit in politically in California. It made sense for us to move, make equal or more money along with a lower cost of living. The politics and lifestyle is all a plus for us. To each their own...
I'm specifically looking to move to TX from CA to bring a ton of liberal policies and kick out Trump and Ted Cruz. Where should I move? I'm thinking Houston area.

As a professional driver in Dallas, i can confidently say that drivers have gotten worse over the last year with the bad drivers usually having a california or an oklahoma licence plate
As a professional driver as well I noticed that too, between San Antonio to DfW the driving behavior is alot more aggressive but it's normal aggressive driving.🤔
I think your review of both states has been fair and honest. We want more open minded people like you in Texas. I moved to Texas in 1980. So happy with my decision. Welcome.

Your video is very helpful. I moved from California to Houston so I agreed with your observations. I think those that disliked your video are from California and never been in Texas 🙂
Asian guy living in DFW since 1992. I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could! There’s a reason why corporations, like Toyota, left CA for TX. And more companies are moving to TX every year. I have a neighbor that relocated here from CA with Toyota. He’s lived in CA since 1985, and he says TX today is what CA was in 1985. And if we’re not careful, TX is going to end up like CA today. Stew on that for a bit.
@Michael- He's right. you have an area with abundant jobs, people move here for those jobs and then bring all the things from where they left that killed those jobs. Then when the jobs dry up, they move on because they have no emotional connection with the area. Detroit is California 20 years from now and California is Texas 20 years from now. Its like the locusts come through, kill everything and move on.
Trouble with the big companies is that they push social liberalism and will support higher taxes, because they can afford to pay more while their smaller competitors cannot.
Dallas is following Houston and Austin with Progressive Polices crime is rising in the DFW area due to it. A lot of New Yorkers have moved to Texas too and that's ruining the atmosphere and the home prices
I’ll never understand why liberals run from states that have been ruined by the policies they vote for only to vote for the same policies where they moved to. That’s what you call insanity.
Texas cities are liberal and not run by Texans anymore. DFW was majority European when I first moved here and now whites are being discriminated against and the state is becoming a multicultural balkanized mess. Demographics matter and you can virtue signal all you want. Texas without real Texans wil become another California before you know it. Another thing with so many people moving here for jobs and affordable conditions it is getting seriously overpopulated. Dallas is becoming the NY of the south
I'm born and raised in California. Never thought I'd wanna leave this state but it's gone extremely left and see no chance of it going back to the right. I can't wait to leave this state, I won't mind coming back for vacations though lol
This is my 2nd year here in Texas, and im from L.A. I can't EVER go back and I got L.A CA tattooed on my arms. I pay 750$ a month for my two bedroom apt, oppose to paying 12.00 a monthl for a studio apt in L.A.

I came here twenty years ago and I love it. It's been great for all of the above reasons. You've been here for a couple years so you already know. Welcome. Be free. Keep Texas what it is. And, by the way...Texas isn't red and it isn't blue. It's a mix of just about everything. Keep things simple. Keep things local. Keep being happy. There is too much freedom and too much opportunity out here to not be happy.
I'm not from Texas, but live in a bordering state. It's crazy the amount of people leaving California for Texas. They are fleeing conditions made by far left policies. I fear they will bring those philosophies to the voting booth and ruin a great state that I admire

I’ve been in the Dallas area for just about a year now coming from Portland. The things that shock me the most: roads are in very poor condition in most places, many drivers here are insane contributing to some pretty horrific accidents, thunderstorm rain causes roads to flood which can include the freeway. But hey, the cost of housing is at least for now much more affordable than much of the west coast.
A little history. For many years the gas taxes were siphoned off to the public schools. Before that they were fenced off for use by the Texas Highway Department. That lends itself to abuse. Allen and McKinney have each built $60,000,000 football stadiums. A few years ago, the Dallas ISD lost track of $80,000,000.
I'm in residential real estate & the majority of people I see moving to Dallas from CA on their own are coming here to vote for conservative or libertarian. The people from CA who are just being transferred to Dallas from their company are the ones you have to watch out for. My parents moved us to Dallas from Orange County in the early '90s when it became obvious that the state was no longer going to be a Republican state. While we still have a few California tendencies (like preferring In-N-Out to Whataburger) we have really embraced our new home. And we'll be damned if we ever let this state fall into a leftist shithole like CA has become.
It has nothing to do with that lmao the 10 poorest states in the union are conservative facts....... it would be real nice if people will educate themselves before opening their mouth and saying s***
In-n-out over Whataburger?!? Never! Just based on the fries alone the food is better! In-n-out probably pays better and has a better cult following, but to me Whataburger wins hands down.
Moved here to the DFW area a year ago from Little Rock, and ive benefited alot financially and honeslty love this state and i wish to live the rest of my life in Texas.
Bringing my Ca retirement at (50), to Houston texas in 6.5 more months..I cannot wait..taking my ca. Dollars, my guns, and my Conservative view points to my new HOME state.. TEXAS..gr8 open honest reviews man, keep it up.
Welcome. People ask me if it scares me that a lot of people have concealed carry permits and do carry personal firearms. Really it does not. There was an incident at a very nice bar restaurant in Arlington where I was living at the time. A guy came in the bar and started arguing with the bartender. Then he pulled a gun and started firing at him. The guy in the booth behind him told his wife "get down" then he pulled his own revolver and shot the guy who was firing at the bartender. You will sometimes hear an incident like that because Texans do carry guns. But it makes me feel safer. The guy who killed the people in the Southland Church was shot down by a responsible gun owner who came to the defense of the people.
@@reeneebeany7706Arizona offers CCW's to non-residents. CA conservatives can rejoice (especially us in LA county). How concerned does one need to be when wearing a MAGA hat in suburban parts of Dallas or San Antonio? Places like Carrollton or Seguin (named after Juan Seguin of course).
Moved to North Carolina in the early 2000s after college and I never regretted it. It's so much cheaper than the North. For years, while our kids were young, I was a stay-at-home mother and our standard of living was still high. We don't use much heat in the winter because it's mostly in the 50s and 60s for daytime highs. The summer is hot but it removes most of the humidity and insects and it is not as humid as Ohio or the deep South. The taxes have gotten higher in the last ten years but it is still inexpensive. We pay about .6 on property tax (outside city limits), about $2.30 per gallon on gasoline, our electric for about a 3100 s.f. house is no more than a $100 a month, garbage is $100 a year, and county water is $40 a month. We work from home and utilities are surprisingly low. We also received almost $50,000 in first-time buyer assistance. The free money helped us to build our house. The money came from the state and local governments, and a Wells Fargo Bank incentive. There are many areas near Charlotte, NC that are still outside of city limits where you save money on both property and automobile taxes. My husband and I, we are conservative and do not like some of the liberals who moved down here because the cost of living is cheaper, and yet they still vote for liberals. Some of them get upset at open carry permit holders as well as all of the firing ranges. Luckily most of those sort moved to the Research Triangle. Also many of the New Yorkers haved had their homes foreclosed and they moved back to New York. Thankfully we are entrenched firmly in Trump country and I feel right at home unlike when I lived in Northern Ohio where my husband was reared. Cleveland has been a sesspit for decades and they still vote for Democrats.
Really like NC! Would there from Texas if kids and grandkids could move with us. Nice people, less dogmatic about state pride, beautiful trees and lakes
Good for you! I live in California and would love to move, just not sure I want to move to Texas, I did live there for 8 years and loved it! Gotta get my family onboard! Stay Safe friend! Go Trump!
In Texas you can dispute how much you pay in property taxes. People and companies do it all the time and do get lower rates but with everyone moving here it’s driving up the value of homes making taxes higher.
No shortage of homes in Texas..Business & homes going up everywhere..But you are correct the $$ is going up.. California transplants sell for 500k for a so so home and can get an estate for it in Teaxs..

I left San Diego, California almost 17 years ago. No regrets! Lived in San Antonio for 15 years and now Houston for 2. I live in the Suburbs in Houston. The house I have now to have comparable in California would be at least $700-$800 thousand.
I used to live in SD. Liked it a lot. It has always been expensive. What I don't understand is why no one ever mentions that SD is "liberal" like LA and SF. Truth be told, SD has always been conservative. Mayors for the most part have always been Republican as well as majority of City Council members. It is ran well. That is why it is the ONLY city in CA that has a budget windfall. That is why they have opened NEW libraries, fire stations, parks, AND repaired HALF of their city streets. Why is it that NO ONE is reporting on this???
@@chisel65castle17 True! It may be a reason why I am conservative and I'm assuming because of the big Military presence in the city. I heard within the last year or 2 that San Diego did not want to be a sanctuary city.I left SD because it was more affordable for a family of 6 to purchase a home over 2500 sq ft in Texas. Now that we're empty nesters, we could afford to live in SD but a much smaller space but I love it here especially North Houston ... Spring/The Woodlands area.
I'm not originally from Texas, but I got here as soon as I could...26 years ago...anyways, welcome. Get out and explore this great state! We have a little bit of everything here...Mountains, deserts, beaches, forests, lakes, rivers, big cities and small towns. Festivals and events happening year round ....Make it your home, you'll love here!
I was born and raised in California and lived in Dallas for many years as well. So about half of my life was spent in both places. What I can say is this - if cost of living is the biggest concern, got to Texas. If you're a conservative go to Texas. If you like good shopping and food, go to Texas. For me, I abhor the liberalism of California, it is ruining the state. I am a moderate independent so that and the cost of living makes living here in my home state very difficult. But, it is still a fabulous place with so much to do and see, especially if you like being outside. The weather is fantastic most of the year. What I hated about living in Texas was there was no natural beauty (yes, I know all about the Hill Country and the Piney Woods but those are very small areas of the state and was not where I lived and even those did not compare to the natural beauty and diversity of California). I also disliked the humidity and the ice storms. But mostly I hated the mentality of the native Texans who really thought they lived in the Garden of Eden. Clearly, they had not been outside of the state. All in all, both places have their pluses and minuses, it's all in what you feel you need to be happy. I needed to be surrounded by beauty so I came back home. I don't know if I will stay or not, there are many things pushing me towards the border but my heart is here, that's for sure.
Colleen Monfross having lived in both states, I totally understand and agree with what you are saying. I live in TX now but would love to live in CA for natural beauty part if cost of living wasn’t too crazy there.
I have been thinking about leaving California and I have read nothing but positive comments about Texas. I think I better hurry and defect like you did before the Premier Gavin Newsom decides to build electric fences and walls to prevent freedom seekers from leaving the New North Korea.
You are welcome here as long as you don't try to turn our state liberal. Being a conservative, you should feel at home here. We're happy to have you. What we don't want is for a lot of liberals to move here and try to make us into the same kind of state they are running away from because of the lack of employment and high prices.
To late. If your legislative districts where not so rigged, Dems would have majorities in the state legislature and the Congressional delegation. But that will be changing soon.
I fled California for Dallas in 1991. I'm still here. I never planned to stay in Dallas for almost my entire life, but have found that there's a lot to love in spire of lack of mountains and lack of oceans. There are a ton of lakes, so if you can latch onto lake life, it's awesome.

LumberJohn my husband and I bought a house in Uvalde Texas and I was shocked how much we pay in property tax every year. Granted it’s my first house purchase, we pay about 700 a month, which might be normal in other states too. I grew up in Alaska and lived in Idaho, Washington and Colorado. I never bought a house in any of those places though. I really like Uvalde but was shocked to think what we will owe in taxes even after we own the house. That’ll be a long time from now though. Lol anyway I didn’t realize it can pay off too try to get those lowered. I’m just waiting too see how much our property will be worth next year. I’ve heard some horror stories.
Btw not dogging on Texas at all. I moved from Alaska when I graduated high school and am 37 now and I think it’s one place that I will be sad too leave when and if that time comes. My husbands line of work has us moving quite a bit.
Jacob Musgrave Texas is turning blue because of traitors like you who let foreigners over run it. You probably don’t care that you’ve sold out the American birthright so you won’t be wayciss.
I live in Montana. Bozeman has been nicknamed BozeAngeles. Yes, A lot of Californians that have moved here are Conservative, however, when they sold their 500k plus homes in California & moved here...they drove the real estate market through the roof & the rent has quadrupled. The cost of living has increased dramatically. The Cali migrants were used to a high cost of living, but Montanan's are not. Californians want to live in Montana, but still want & expect what they had & were accustomed to in California.
This is why track homes in Texas cost 300 to 400k now. I moved an hour from DFW, and built a custom 3000 sq ft home on acreage in mid 200s. My property taxes are county, and pay 4K a year vs 10 to 20k in the city. All these builders know people from California will pay insane prices, and property taxes. All these people bring is inflated prices, traffic, and their goofy bs from whatever state they came from. Texas is full, stay where you are.
The US is overpopulated in general. Why do you think real estate and utilities are getting so expensive? It has nothing to do with greed but more with the law of supply and demand. Greed? See Wall Street or liberal movie stars getting 100 mil to do a movie. Oh wait. That’s supply and demand too. Maybe we should address the elephant in the room. Overpopulation.

The more you go around big cities, is the more you see of leftist/ liberal culture. Just remember one thing Edward... Us Texans don’t fuck around, and we have the guns to back our shit up. Congrats on you moving to Texas. You seem more open-minded than a lot of people on the west coast.
Texan who moved to LA for work for 5 years and then moved back home perspective: I met quite a few conservatives. And I have friends there that are as left as they come. We are still friends and simply agree to disagree. The one great traffic law Cali had was intersections were marked or had signage saying 'Do Not Block Intersection'. Best thing next to sliced bread when the light changes but you can't turn because in Texas have a tendency to block the intersection. So everyone stops. Not in Cali cause you will get a ticket. You touched on may great things about Texas. In my area of NE Texas I have a two hour drive to DFW and pay super low taxes. Great pay raise when I moved back home too du to no longer paying state income tax.! If I want shopping I have the normal Walmart nearby but hit Dallas up to/from airport if I want something different. Plus, there is always online shopping. Thank you so much for posting your review. This is very helpful information, as we too are looking into moving to Texas. I’m originally from Texas. My parents moved from Texas when we were kids. California is not a small business friendly state, either. Every time we turn around, another regulation hinders our business. However, in our resource we have managed to stay consistent. For how long is the question, before another law red tapes another subject. With AB1487 in place and before that, it’s not a landlord friendly state either. It takes more than 6 weeks to get court dates on evictions due to the court back-up (Los Angeles. More red tag , causing investors to have no incentives, which, will increase the homeless situation. This video is definitely to consider. Texas may be conservative , however, that just may be a positive for raising my young ladies. Thank you, highly appreciate your time in posting this video.

I live in California but a while back there I spent a month visiting a friend in Carrollton. I forgot about how flat it was until you mentioned it in this video. Yeah not a lot of mountain scenery going on over there. It's kind of creepy if you are used to decades of seeing mountains every day. The one thing that I didn't like the most when I was there was the humidity! Every time you are outside you can't escape that gooey feeling.
lifelong Texan here... it is hot and humid and flat and the beaches are gross, brown seawater on the coast. Many bubbas and illegals. Rural blight like abandoned trailer homes and trashy people...all depressing. Cities are slammed with traffic and construction. Franchise fast food and strip centers are ubiquitous. But...there are jobs, fewer homeless, less panhandling, better schools, more decent people, less bitterness and complaining...and fewer crazy libtards (except at Whole Foods and the entire city of Austin)
We moved from California to Houston , Texas in 1992 for economic reasons. I lived there for 9 years and hated it.
