Spawnpoint Question for you: when did you do your first wash after delivery? And when did you do first polish/wheel sealant etc (the items you do less frequently)? And to confirm, you do not have ceramic coat/ppf, correct? I just took delivery of my LR AWD on Wed.
Wow your model 3 is a nice motor very indeed. Just a quick question what alloys do you have i did a model 3 configure on teslas web site but couldn't see them
I finally got my Model 3 and now it's time to clean it. I regret watching this video first because I hoped that I would get away with 2-3 products and a 10 minute routine. Damn dude, this is next level!
Many people make a common mistake with snow foam.. big props for you sir, you did it right. You are supposed to use spray the foam on a dry surface. Too many times I see people rinsing the car first and then applying foam. Actually same thing goes for wheelcleaners. Thanks for the great video! Really enjoy this style of videos, not done in a rush, no over hyping of products.
Nice video, great to see someone as passionate about car care as me. I used to use the Endurance Tyre Gel, however I did find it "flicked" off a little even when dry. I now use Auto Finesse Satin Tyre dresser, very happy with it.
First class job. I have been very lazy with cars in the past but I'm expecting to order the Model 3 Long Range in the next week or so and really want take care of it. This will really help. Results speak for themselves. Really enjoying all of your vids and key in helping me make the purchase decision. Thank you
Just bought my Tesla Model 3 Long Range. Appreciate the detailed video. I will definitely be incorporating your techniques, though may not go 3 whole rounds per item as you do.
Good video. Ive got a similar routine to you but for my maintenance washes I use a spray on wash off sealant. I use Gyeon Wetcoat and it makes my paintwork pop and leaves some insane beading. Once it’s applied just spray off and dry the car and you’re done. They also do a tyre gel as well which I’ve found is far superior to the Megs stuff. Lasts a lot longer and sticks to the rubber better so it doesn’t sling either.
I'm going to save this video to my favourites. When life gets a bit much and I'm feeling down I'll rewatch it. It will do me good to be reminded that things could be worse- I could be living in a soulless housing estate and washing my own car.
Hey SP. All your content is top drawer as ever and very relevant/useful. Your delivery is at the right pace and very clear - true pro !! :) This one i have watched several times and have a couple questions for ya: 1) Do you need separate drying cloths for glass and panels - ie what does the weave towel add for glass only? 2) Is it not required to perform an initial rinse to get rid of any big stains (inc bug/tar remover) prior to foam spray or do you consider the latter to effectively cover that as it sits for 10 mins? 3) Considering PPF, would all these products stll be required? ie claying, polish/sealant, detailing
I’m a U.K. owner of a Model 3 SRP and had the stock wheels powder coated black (under £400 and kept the insurance the same) and had the Brake Calipers painted red (just over £200 including the Tesla Decal) it looks a hundred times better as the standard grey wheels just don’t look good. I’m pretty sure the wheels were coloured deliberately so they didn’t look their best to attract the extra cash to Tesla for their wheel upgrades, for around £400 you can choose any colour you want for the powder coating and the only limitation is what centre caps you can get. Car looks stunning following the clean by the way.
This video was very helpful. I am slowly getting into washing car at home. Sick of getting micro scratches from car washes. I think washing like you do creates that bond and love for your car 😊 same thing taking care of house/garden/driveway. I will definitely buy some of the products you advised. Thank you.
I’d deffo get some of those mesh bucket bases for the buckets mate, just to allow grit and stokes to slip through to the bottom of the bucket and not allow the mitt to collect them.
Chris - sorry if this is a daft question! But when/how do you wash your cleaning products after use? Towels, mits, applicator pads etc? Washing machine or hand wash? Just getting everything together ready for delivery.
Pro tip. When claying, don't just use water. use water with car shampoo. that lubricates the clay even more! take your mit and squeeze the water with shampoo onto the panel and then clay
Hi thank you - any tips to manage my Model 3 baking in the sun? Sun shades or can you preset air con to kick in at 45 degrees C ? I don’t want the dash to warp which happened in my old jag
Hey, great video. Maybe you can suggest replacement for grand finale? Looked for around 2+ months, can't find here in UK, everywhere out of stock. Thanks in advance.
If you kept the Aero covers on the wheels, will the wheels still need cleaning underneath regularly? Had my Model 3 a month and due to clean it soon. Great vid keep them coming dude 👍
Nice job! Looking forward to deliveries starting again so I can do mine! I use some of those products although I’m a big big fan of Angelwax, which is taking over my product set. I also use a Bigboi mini - amazing if you hate wringing out microfibre towels!
I have always put a layer or two of wax over the polish to protect it all further. You don’t recommend it? Was not impressed by rain x but will give it another go.
I’ve heard bad things about rainX- people say it smears your windscreen when turning on your wipers- are these people just applying too much? Not buffing it out maybe? Have you had this issue?
Hii Spawnpoiint. Great vid as always. Getting my M3 LR in 3 weeks (aahgghghh can't wait!!!). I've ordered my vinyl number plates, any tips on fitting? Also, I have watched all of your movies and there was one that you said you would be happy for people to post their referral link - which one was it, I can find it now. Keep up the good work.
Hello mate, This is a top video and I have bought and used a number of the products used. Thank you. Now, I have a model Y and the Y unlike the 3 has quite a lot of black plastic trim on the outside around the wheel arches etc. My question is can you recommend a product to bring back the black colour of the trim as when I waxed the car some of the white wax has penetrated the black trim. Thanks in advance.
Thank you! Meguiars do an ultimate black solution that would work. I often just use the tyre shine stuff on it, it's a little greasy though but it lasts ages.
@spawnpoiint appreciate this video is old now but what cleaning products do you use for the interior? mainly dashboard and the beige headlining? I've just got my first Model 3 and want to keep it looking good.
Might sound silly. And you seem to give proper times then most of the other videos I watched. I never heard you mentioned anything about ceramic wax or does that not matter?
SpawnPoiint it’s more about what tape you used and how you fixed it to the car securely. Just want to make sure it doesn’t fall off, and ideally use the same plate!
Hi again nice cleaning routine and satisfying the car looks showroom clean !! if not better. How do you find the ease of parking in the garage, the first thing i did before ordering was to measure my garage and although the Tesla 3 is narrower than my current car it is a fair bit longer. Will the car still auto park with the standard auto pilot? Would you trust it to if it does? Oh totally agree about the benefit of possible 360 degree view from the cameras this must be something that could be done thru software and a massive help ! fingers crossed it gets done before I get mine and start parking in my garage !! ... crunch
@@SpawnPoiint Hi Chris, have you had any experience with the small light replacements you can push fit in the boot and or courtesy lights of model 3 ? Ive seen some advertised as being a little brighter for the boot etc but am cautious incase they effect the battery consumption possibly. What are your thoughts? cheers Nick
Great video, nice detail. I use grit guards in the bottom of my washing buckets, it is surprising how much they save you pulling suspended grit onto your mitt and then back onto the paintwork.
This is insane.. I'd love for you to do my Model 3 once in a while :D I'll never do that myself.. hell, I hope I'll at least rinse it once in a while..
SpawnPoiint Haha I’d watch it! Are the number plate holders etc just the same as the American ones? I just haven’t seen it done on a UK model but not sure if there are any differences
Kind of starter level, some good techniques, 2 bucket method but also some dodgy practice, no grit guards for example and inappropriate use of products, eg Z9 on the vegan leather. Love the number plate sticker though, soo much better than the bulky mounts tesla use
Really good . I'll stick to having my neighbor clean mine but I enjoyed watching 😆 the way ppl have talked about Tesla paint quality has me scared I'll mess it up
Wow you have a ton of products for your Tesla haha! I just wash my Model 3 SR+ with car wash soap but I should get some more products for a better finish
Awesome video! Really clear explained and stunning results at the end. I am wondering if we can use rainwater or if it really has to be clear/'soft' (filtered) water?
@@SpawnPoiint thanks for the feedback. Could be that it was not recommended on Tesla's (due to 'poor' paint), will start using that then as it's easier for me to reach (living in a condo complex).
Car looks awesome. Do you have any sort of paint protection film on your car ? I decided against it since it was out of my budget and already have few minor nicks on the front bumper and hood. First one kinda hurts, second one not so much. Also, i have found a good detailing routine and enjoy taking care of the actual paint.
You’re got car cleaning down to a fine art. Great info. I’ll certainly try some of those products. What are views on ceramic coating? I watched You Tuber EVM do his Model 3 recently and might consider it if ever get one myself (done professionally, that is). Also, did you have to deal with any paint blemishes on the car when you got it?
Thank you 🙏 yes I have considered ceramic coating, it’s not something I’ve ever done before, but would certainly have a go myself. I didn’t have any issues with the paint either, maybe I was lucky.
Just used (most of) your method on my 71 plate SR+ Model 3 for its first wash since purchase. Video live on my channel. Thanks for the tips and advice, it came out better than expected!!!
