I guess we deserve to be fined 😂. The hypersmooth stabilization on the new go pros do make it possible to take pretty smooth video even with a head mounted camera. And we are willing to bet future models are going to get even better! Love the channel, definitely always remember your channel as having the first viral caving videos we have ever seen!!!

Thanks for watching. One always has to put something controversial in a video of this type. 😁 With your viewing figures and subscribers you are much better qualified than me and I'm sure image stabilisation will get even better. Keep making your videos. Best wishes, Keith

I've been experimenting with that but found that lots of stabilization means too tight a field of view and also needs a higher frame rate making it darker (or it gets choppy). This weekend I'm planning to try some underground filming using a max lens mod (and so max lens stabilization). No idea how that'll work. If you work out the best way to do this let me know coz I sure don't have the answers, watching Keith's videos because he makes it look high quality and effortless and easy. Some people like Keith are infuriatingly good at what they do! That said... you boys get some good filming done too

I'm confused why that first film at Eldon hole featured Jasper Carrott

Thank you Keith, another inspiring informative video, with humour and serious content. Can I say that at my age and with health problems it's wonderful to watch your films! I assume you know or have met Sid Perou on your travels, and interesting how both of you have produced different work. Sid going back more years and with more basic equipment! I'm sure you have probably heard this before - but as an ex-Caver in 1971, watching caving films now brightens up my leisure, nostalgia, and time to fantasise about what used to be!

Thanks for watching and for your very kind comment. Sid has always been my hero, but I didn't meet him until December 2017 at the Royal Geographical Society in London. I've met him a couple of times since at Hidden Earth. We exchange messages and emails from time to time and he has used some of my footage in his history of cave rescue series. I feel very honoured. I'm not sure how much longer I will be able to go caving, but when it's time to hang up my wellies, I will have some fantastic memories to look back on - many of them captured on video.

This is so fascinating. So many caving specific filming tips here. I hope to go caving one day and would love to make a mini-documentary of the trip. I'd love to be able to film with someone with all your experience!

I'm pleased you enjoyed it. As I say in the video, I'm just an amateur, but making films is a fascinating hobby. There's always something new to learn or try. It's all great fun.

Enjoyed that Keith. Looking forward to seeing the next episode. With the advent of digital I can see being able to playback on site being a great advantage to you in some circumstances. Except when one shot is all I have on this or it won’t be spontaneous. It’s great that modern technology can help you eg LED lighting. Carrying flashguns etc in an ammo box was bad enough. Dan yr Ogof comes to mind😂 Not been underground for a while but a pensioner trip is planned soon. Regards Bill PS I thought I had lost my negatives from the 80’s-90’s but I found some of them this weekend so some scanning is in order. I’ll pop them on FB when I do them.

Hi Bill. I'm pleased that you enjoyed it. We get it very easy these days compared with when the likes of Sid Perou made his amazing films. LED lighting has revolutionised cave videography. A pensioner trip is all I'm good for these days! Please let me know when you arrange something. It would be great to join you. Looking forward to seeing your photos. Best wishes, Keith

Keith, was just curious as I was considering a trip to peak cavern to visit the moss chamber, would you say that it’s a particularly difficult or intimidating journey, considering I’ve never being caving before and am very slightly claustrophobic, although I belive I can handle moderately tight routes

Hi. I assume you have seen my video of the trip? If not, it's at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XqIp2FZsEXc.htmlsi=7Rj1JfXQ3_QS841H In my opinion it's not a beginner's trip. It's not a very long trip, but as you can see in the video, there is a lot of crawling and squeezing involved, not to mention a few climbs and some wet sections. Take advice from a local caving club. You will have to join a caving club anyway to gain access to the cave beyond the show cave in Peak Cavern.
