When the top went down successfully, I was thinking "Suck it Tavarish! He's got a working top." kidding of course.

About the hood... I would guess they forgot to close it, got to speed and it flew up. Could honestly be the catalyst for ALL the damage.

According to Scotty Kilmer, the reason why your Ferrari isn't running is because it's not a Toyota.

I think your P1630 code means that the ECUs for each bank of the engine don't know which is which - normally in a 2 ECU configuration like this there will be an identification pin that is shorted to ground on one ECU and left unconnected on the other one, so by checking the state of that pin when the ECU powers up it knows whether it is on the left or right bank. That would also explain why when you did a code scan the left hand and right hand ECUs came up as "not equipped" but "engine management system - recovery" does come up as it has found and ECU but doesn't know which one it is. Definitely worth checking the workshop manual wiring diagrams to find the ECU ID pin!

Hey Sam, ALWAYS have the engine running when you move the hood up and down. The power the motors require to move the roof up and down drains the batteries so fast. I own an Audi rs4 convertible and if the engine isn’t running when the hood is moved up or down, the car requires a jump start. I’m guessing that’s why yours didn’t start after the hood was put down.

Top remommendation on emanuals ! Those guys have everything and are more than happy to help with any issues. Just downloaded so much VAG data with maintenance and service insgtructions, circuit diagrams literally everything I need.

little hint might be the dust under the top, they couldnt run it when it was down either, you could run it with the top on, but when you put it down, it didnt run again... try that, might work ;)

One option for the floor damage it to screw into it from underneath and use a slide hammer to pull it down back into shape. A lot easier than working from above in a small space with a tiny hammer

Put the top back on, the problem might just be a jammed wire.

I think it's more likely they just forgot to latch the hood before hauling ass.

Im guessing the previous owner was driving and the front hood came up, causing him to drive into the ditch, with the top down, (based on how dirty the interior is), hitting a rock or a curb while off roading

Sam, fix the floor from underneath. fabricate a plate or bar to sit above the damage with a rod welded to it protruding under the car and pull on it...a bit like dent removal. Just a thought. Love your work!

Maybe the hood went up while driving ( check latch ? ) damaging the hood and screen and thats what led to damage underneath the car when they went off the road not being able to see ?

I've seen ragged out Mustangs and ragged out Camaros but how does a Ferrari end up getting ragged out?!

A lot of convertibles have an interlock that prevents driving the car with the top not fully up or down. The top sensor may be malfunctioning.

Drill holes from underneath and pull down instead of going from above.

if engine bonnet switch is faulty, the ecu thinks it's open & will not go into gear.

Screw the body, glass and motorized roof. In order steering, brakes, motor. Drive it fast with primer panels.

It stopped working when you put the top down. Likely the top pinched a wire or something like that. Put the top up, problem solved.

Threw the hood up and damaged it oor... someone pulled a Hert and forgot to latch the hood before taking off.

To fix this will require open wallet surgery!

There is a immobiliser light on the left of the steering wheel, you have to pop in the key and wait for the light to turn off and then turn back on, so that the car starts properly

An electric problem and Italian made. What's a rare thing to happen. :)

I think what happened is the hood came up while being driven causing the driver to lose control driving it up onto a curb.

yay for electrical issues. you need to check for shorts and Opens in the wiring harness. also ditch the after market immobilizer. i guarantee that thing is doing to cause problems. most aftermarket anything that involves the CPU is bad news and a wiring nightmare.

The hood wasn’t latched correctly and they drove it and it flew up probably on the freeway.
