I think it has a lot to do with the fact that when Gerard pulled the mask off the man he perhaps recognized him. The man is after all Jimmy Urine from Mindless Self Indulgence. Maybe it was part of the storyline? He looks almost devastated when he pulls the mask off him.

Amber Hagood I'm fairly certain that's the intention of the director/Gerard. They humanized the bad guys by showing a face behind the mask, while not everyone will recognize it, the man Gerard killed is his friend in real life (I believe in his wife's band). It adds a bit of depth to the story.

I believe that it is because the people the Killjoys are killing are ex members of the group and were affected by BL/ind's drug that promises "better living". When Party Poison ( Gerrard Way) removes the mask, he recognises the man as an ex Killjoy (I believe it was Cherri Cola, but I am unsure) and he realises that BL/ind have turned the people he loves against him. He can't handle the fact he has just killed a friend and ends up in that state

He says that he wanted to go with the killjoys but didn’t, and that it’s his fault they got killed. If Gee had actually killed him, Cherri wouldn’t have been there to help Grace.

I have the comic sequel to this video and the name of the guy who kills Gerard is called Hans, not Grant. By the way, the comic is awesome! They could not afford to do a third video in this series, due to financial constraints, so Gerard Way with some collaboration with other writers and artists created it in a comic book. It's beyond worth reading - again and again! Anyway, that's the name of the lead villain in this video.

The character's name is Korse, not Hans. He is only ever called Korse in the comics and videos. However, considering that you called all the characters by the actors' names, I thought it was odd that you called Grant by his supposed character name. That actor's name is Grant Morrison, a popular Scottish author who is close friends with Gerard and wrote some of Gerard's favorite works as a teenager (namely Doom Patrol, The Invisibles, and Batman: Arkham Asylum (A Serious House on Serious Earth)). Trust me, I know the comic well. Assuming we're both referring to the six issue Dark Horse miniseries written by Gerard Way and Shaun Simon, illustrated by Becky Cloonan? With a secret seventh issue released for Free Comic Book Day, titled Dead Satellites? There's no Hans anywhere. Korse is played by and modelled after Grant Morrison.

It was also eluding to something that is canon in the comics. When someone goes against the rules of Battery City and if they're caught, they're taken down by Draculoids and then offered two options. Either they die or they get the option to be transformed into a drac. They're thrown in body bags and then go through the brainwashing process This also makes me think... If we saw Poison at the end be put in a body bag... There is a possibility that they may have been turned into a drac. But i could be wrong lmao

when Gerard takes the mask off the drac, that man behind the mask is apparently to be to be Agent Cherri Cola. an ally of the Killjoys (who was captured by BL/ind while trying to infiltrate their headquarters, and turned into a draculoid). This causes Party Poison to hesitate in the fight and be grabbed by Korse who shoots him in the neck shortly after grasping him

I was a better shot than any of them. I just couldn't bring myself to kill. they didn't want to either,". There's more, but you can read it.
