Very nice. 12:05 is indeed a shark with all the classical high speed swimmrt signs. 14:16 seems to be a shark too, but a more stylized one; the finns are, to me, a bit unusual. However, there 500+ species of shark. But they are not whale sharks, basking sharks, angel or hammerheads. The last COULD, I speculate wildly and probably wrongly, be a youung dwarf lantern shark: the mature ones arebonly about 6 inches long. "Soon we'll be out amid the cold world's strife. Soon we'll be sliding down the razor blade of life"
Thank you. I clean up blades either by using just metal polish, or a progression of wet sandpaper from 400, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,500 to 2,000 grit followed by metal polish.
Thanks for sharing your razor collection and telling something about each of them. It looks like a very nice collection of razors, I can well imagine it must be very satisfying to be able to choose the razor that tickles your fancy for each shave. I do have a question. With each razor you seem to be able to indicate if it is a mediocre, good or even very good/amazing razor. Can you tell us what aspects make a worse or better razor for you? As a DE shaver, I imagine a straight razor is better when it is properly honed, but hearing you grading your razors, it seems to me that there must be other factors at play, please enlighten us. BTW, I already said it, but the display case your wife found for your razors looks like an _excellent_ and very satisfying storage for your collection 👍
Fab collection, congrats! Great storage ideas, I have to admit to using standard IKEA cardboard boxes with no display of course - time to upgrade! Masonic etchings on Sheffields are indeed beautiful, I hope to acquire one. I've also wondered about the shark logo on E.A.Bergs: the teeth are convincing but the fins less so (more herring? 😄). I also recently received my first Yuri razor, also a Capitaine - as good a looker/shaver as anything I've come across. Thanks for sharing! Michael. PS your strop collection next? 😁
Great video and great collection! I have a total of one straight razors, I have a few shavettes including the Weck. I have 20+ double edge razors though. Your collection is much more impressive!
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your collection! I've been hoping you would and enjoyed your video. Building a collection of straights is a fun part of the hobby.
