I used to fold my socks so that the pair would stay together and I don't have to search for two matching socks in the morning when I need to get to work. I solved that problem by literally only having one type of sock (I bought a whole bunch of the same ones). Now I just grab the two first socks on top of the drawer.
To answer the cycling questions: The outfit is just called a cycling kit and the reason why the padding is in the shorts is because it helps with the distribution of weight and also means the seat does not have to be as large. Some bike shorts do have pockets, but all bike jerseys have the pocket mainly because it's easier to reach back to get things from a back pocket than reaching down to grab something from your legs. However, at least for when I raced state I never carried anything in my pockets because it's extra weight and also probably could fall out.

I actually approve of your opinion about folding socks. However for holes in socks, I can’t do because if I used those socks for running I would end up with blisters. I give my broken socks to my dog and play tug of war with him with the socks
Rek is that one friend that’s random but so chill at the same time PS: Shorts have padding instead of the seats because of aerodynamics and the same goes for the pockets, and pockets in shirts are more comfortable when leaning on a competitive bike and it’s easier to grab out of shirt pockets while staying seated

I spend a decent chunk of my waking hours sitting in a chair and I can confidently say that a bike ride really does revitalize the body. Even though I can get worn out a little pedaling a heavy, full suspension mountain bike up hill, I still enjoy it. I'm glad to hear Parker and his brother get to experience the same joy of bike riding. Oh, about the bike seat thing. Most manufactures cut costs by minimizing things such as the seat size. When it comes to more competitive riders, lower weight is almost always preferred. If a rider wants a more comfortable seat then they have a few options. Buy a different seat, buy a padded seat cover, or buy wearable padding. Might I recommend watching videos from the Berm Peak Express RU-vid channel.

Great video Rek! For the sock hole opinion, I think holes in most places of the sock are alright, but as an ADHD person, whenever there is a hole in my clothing, I pick at it and completely ruin it.
I have OCD (or ADHD or both idk) and apparently that affects my taste for socks, the seam of the sock where it is above the toes really affects my right foot's pinkie toe, if the seam is touching it then it is really annoying and I have to adjust it every 30 seconds, if it is not then I'm fine. So I just try not to wear socks whenever I can. Also, one of my socks mysteriously disappears every month or so. And they keep vanishing until I have to buy new socks, it sucks. lol
Dude I so agree. I thought I was the only one. Even with the holes. I have holes in all mine but if they have holes in like the toe I throw them out, but in the ball of ur foot or side I keep them. 😂 I’m glad I’m not alone
I don’t know if this counts as folding, but I roll my socks up in pairs and flip one inside out to create a sort of sack. Easy to undo, and easy to pick out a pair. I agree with your hole take. I fold my socks to make sure they're in pairs. I suppose it wouldn't matter if all my socks could go on either foot, but searching through the bin for two socks that can be worn at the same time is super annoying!
I also dont ever fold my socks, just put them in a pair and that's all that is needed. Also just went on a 5 hour bike ride to come back to see a Rekrap video talking about the exact same thing. awesome commentary and insane comeback! That stronghold was nuts, no wonder the preemptive was a little off. Would you consider making one of these types of videos on cross country, if there were enough interesting moments/stories to fill up a speedrun? I'm running XC and track in high school right now and it's always cool to compare experiences with people especially when they're a youtuber who I watch a lot of + think is really cool.
hey rek this is kinda weird to say but this commentary made me realize we aren't so different! we're both runners and bikers (i'm going on a 60 mile bike ride tomorrow!) and of course we both love minecraft. whenever you talk about your physical activity like running soccer or whatever it makes me so engaged

Reason to fold your socks: keeping the pairs together. however if you dont have an abundance of wild and unique socks like i do i can see why this wouldnt be necessary. Even with my crazy socks i still dont always fold them.

I completely agreed on the need to go outside and not wanting to go outside, it really feels different once I’m outside, in the sun, or whatnot, exercise, it just felt fresher and with more energy.
I do mountain biking, I’m pretty sure the pockets on the shirt and not the shorts are for ease of access. Cause your legs are moving a bunch it’s just easier to grab a bottle from your back ( I think your talking about the back ones) in my case I have the padded shorts and then another pair with lots of pockets for gloves and snacks. I “fold” socks (wrap one sock in a pair in the other) in order to keep pairs together. It’s basically necessary if you have an assortment of socks in different styles like I do.

Glad you are getting into biking. Can be lots of fun but some of the clothing is interesting 😅. I mostly do mountain biking and XC but occasionally go for a road or gravel ride.

I think the pockets are on the shirt because when biking your legs are going haywire and things can fall out of your pocket. But there should just be zippers idk
Its to get you to buy more stuff. The seat is unpadded for you to buy special shorts, for money, and the shorts have no pockets so that you buy the shirt. Its smart, yet annoying.
similar to the grasshoppers: my dad and i were biking one time and this prairie dog tried to cross the path in front of me, so i zoom past and he stops and does a full 180, while hes flat on the ground, and tries to go back the way he came, and my dad comes after me, directly in front of where the prairie dog was going, so he spins around AGAIN and this is in the span of like 5 seconds
Does anyone else remember when rek did his first sub-hour speedrun and said it was because he wanted to not just be a “builder” or a “pvper” but rather be a well rounded minecrafter, and just look at him now and how hard it backfired
Weight training and running are very good for me because once i start, i get that surge of energy and my senses just feel sharper. When i have a day where i play video games, its hard to stop. Its good to have friends to train with too because you can help motivate each other too. Isnt it funny the commentarys started as little side projects and fun ways to talk about speedrunning and now we watch these like”oooooh, whats happening in reks life now?”😂
for the sock logic, thats what its like for all of the clothes. You fold them just to unfold them later, so then you could just not fold them in the first place. Also great video. It was all over the place but it doestn matter when you're learning life advice with Rekrap
The reason why the short don't have a pocket while the shirt have pocket. It's because when you pedal your legs go up and items inside your pocket can fall out specifically phones wallet and etc.
The reason for the pockets being in the shirt is because when you are in a race it better to get something from your back then to stop and get it out of your shorts. Love your videos by the way
I have a cycling kit, the bottom part is referred to as a bib but I don't know if the top has it own name. But yeah I think someone else has mentioned it about the pockets but when you are cycling you legs are almost constantly moving so it's less practical to put pockets there. However our most recent kits do have pockets on the bottom part. But Biking and just taking a break outdoors is so refreshing.
When I take off my sock I will put one of the socks in the other one and then with the one that has the sock in it I will take the top of the sock and but it on the back of the sock so it makes a ball so yeah that’s how I fold / put away socks. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk!
For some reason, I read the video's title wrong. I click on this expecting to hear about rek's controversial opinions on the stock market. I was confused the entire video.
My opinion is that we fold them so they’re tied together because I don’t really want one sock to be half across the country well one sock is on the couch so my opinion it is kind of better to fold them because I wanna have on my shocks, and say who losing all my socks.
