Rek is literally one of my favorite minecraft youtubers currently. its really just the way he narrates his videos, and his minecraft playstyle. Rek seriously reminds me of Techno so much and hes so committed to the stuff he loves. Rek is a model for me and I personally, have adopted the way he plays and i just wanna be good at games like him. The fact that Rek talked about a personal part of his life when he said that he, doesn't like to discuss this type of stuff, just reinforces my passion for him. Keep up the good work on the videos Rek :) anyways thank you all for the likes in such a short amount of time :)
As someone who loves football and in the school football team. Its honour to play for you school, and being cut from the team is quite sad, and I really feel bad for you.. Stay strong my guy
Can't lie, I like these commentary videos. They're really cool and they kinda remind me of Technoblade's old videos about his time in university. Would love to see more, keep up the great speed runs and commentaries
Rek I feel you with that social media thing. I only have RU-vid. I also have covid right now and watching this is the best thing ever right now while I’m recovering
As someone currently on my high school soccer team who knows friends who have been cut from their school soccer teams, I know that it sucks. But if you want it bad enough, and you keep working to get better, you can overcome this obstacle and maybe make the team next year
As someone that also is from a soccer family I can say you made the correct decision as I chose to do hockey instead of soccer later on in year 9. Thanks for representing all of us soccer families ❤❤❤
Rek, you are my absolute favorite minecraft youtuber, I don't know what it is but there's something special about the way you play and do commentaries. Thank you so much!
That bump on your other knee is called Osgood-Schlatters syndrome. I have it and it almost took me out of high school soccer. Sorry to hear about this, I have been going through the same things but this has helped me a ton. Thank you
I really love the speedrun commentaries!! Also I get the pain of dropping a sport. I used to be a gymnast but had to quit due to health issues and it was pretty devastating. Glad your tennis worked out!
As someone who's an introvert and very shy around new people (even still as an adult) I'm always on my phone in public, because I have no interest in making friends. My phone is basically my comfort zone.
Rek, I know how it feels to have a dodgy knee as I snapped my anterior crutiate ligament a few years back at the age of ten. I had to wear a knee brace for ages and watching this made me feel so much better about it. Thanks Parker
Just keep practicing what you like to do and have fun! You might have to do something that you don’t like or something boring, but it will be your benefit to get ahead of everyone else. Good luck Rek, hope you get better! (Love your videos by the way)!
I was about to say I would love to see more of these commentary videos while you speedrunning in the background. And then you say you stopped. Still love these
This is like my favorite commentary --- My family is a soccer family, I have a dad who played soccer in high school and college, a brother who plays soccer (in high school) and I've played soccer for most of my life, up until high school. I realized I didn't really love soccer, and wanted to play some other sport. Still don't know what sport (could be tennis, could be volleyball) but I had to stop playing soccer because after I ran a LOT over the course of a week, my knee (or knees, but mostly my left) couldn't handle it because my form wasn't ideal. This meant I stopped playing soccer for about 1/2 a year to a year, and I didn't know what to do. So I can relate a bunch to this video, thank you!
This is probably the most relatable video from rek atleast for me for 2 reasons: 1) As my mom was a Goalie for her high school team, represented the state on multiple occasions, so naturally growing up I looked upto her and wanted to make it to my high school team too.. But around Grade 7-8, I had a ligament tear (a mild ACL tear) because of which I had to be on Knee pads always.. and luckily because it was a Grade 1, I didn't require surgery and through rest and physio I was good to play again, but not having kicked a football for 2 years by the time it was tryouts, my long kicks and clearances were completely dead.. (Like When I threw the ball with my hands it would go further than my Goal Kick 💀) So even tho reflexes and agility wise I was far ahead of any other Goalie trying out, my inability to make long clearances ultimately ended up costing my spot on the team.. But it was around the same time I fell in love with Speed Roller Skating, and so I tried out for it and I got in the roster pretty much without any problems, represented my school, then the city and low and behold in no time, there I was At the Nationals getting a second place finish!!! Unfortunately in 2019 (due to personal problems) I had to take a break from skating, but with the promise that mid 2020 I would be joining the roster back.. but then........ Covid happened, I graduated High School without ever touching my Skates again!! But hey atleast it was fun till it lasted, might not have been the way I wanted it to go but would never want to change or trade any of it for anything🙂 2) Second reason is recently I have been getting a lot mindful about my screen time too... I realised me whipping out my phone everytime I wanted to do something was just taking a toll on my productivity.. So I went ahead deleted most of my socials (insta, snap, Facebook), uninstalled all the social media apps + RU-vid from my phone, and it has been a wild ride to say the least.. everytime I take my phone out and realise I don't have anything to do on it, which entices me to either study, or do something creative like write or draw which overall has boosted my productivity by a good bit! BTW enough about me, love these narrative videos, Really look forward to more of these! Keep em coming
DUDE I LOVE SOCCER!!! I played for around 10 years but had a really bad coach that soured the experience for everyone on my team. Glad to hear you like the sport too Rek, love to see you uploading! Keep up the awesome vids! :)
Also, in another video on this channel you briefly mentioned you played soccer, and when I commented on that video asking you to talk more about your soccer life, this video was posted. Way to stay true to your fans. P.S., if this video was just one big coincidence, that’s cool too.
Rekrap Is the best youtuber! there is so much backstory to his career that we have not known before! Now these commentaries are not only entertaining, but informational as well! BTW rek, I love tennis!!
This makes so much sense, another comment said how Rek commentates and has a video style like techno and I can see that. It’s no wonder why I find such enjoyment in watching these videos. Please keep making these when you can, it brings me back to when I first watched all of techno’s commentaries.
i had a kinda similar club thing happnen to me except it was kind of reverserved.I have been playing tennis since I was 7,my previous school did not have tennis but when I entered high school they offered tennis.I thought I was pretty good at the sport, but i didnt realise my school was very competitive in the country,so I ended up missing it,sad thing is that after that I got a new coach and a new racket and proabably got 3 times better and may have made the cut.Now I spend my time in debate, which although i think is useful, probably would not have been as fun in comparison to me playing tennis(someohow ended up on the competition team for this sport instead lol)
hey i love the story and i love the speedrun even more maybe you can just stream speedruns on twitch or this yt account or on your main account just whatever you want i would just love to watch you live speedrun
Hi rek will u be able to teach us how u doing that render distance thing and other things that need to know when speedrunning? Love your videos and how u are dedicated to anything that you want. 💙
Rek is motivational somehow and I love watching his speedruns too. I am getting jnto speedrunning and I have to admit that even though I first thought about doing it as a kid when I heard about dream Rek has been the one who got me to start!
BROSKI REALLY SAID "SOCCER" IT'S FOOTBALL. But apart from that your my favorite youtuber you really make my day and helped me through a lot of hard times so I hope you have a good day. Btw don't know what time it is right now in america I live in singapore LMAO
This helped me decide which sports team I am going to play on this year at my school. I have been debating on playing both soccer and ultimate, but I realized I don't love soccer the way I love ultimate because I was in a similar situation where I as a child was made to go to sporting teams and such with soccer being one of them. Though I was never made go to go ultimate and just had a lot more fun playing it. (Also, I am a lot better at ultimate then soccer, also because I have foot problems that if I play a full season, I can't do anything sports related but I still have the foot problems but it is less with ultimate, also the ultimate frisbee people at my school are a lot nicer and welcoming.)
honestly bro when i got onto the soccor team i with my friends all of us were checking if we were on the board...we checked and thankfully we all made it i thought at least one of us wouldn''t but i was pretty hyped for the entire day
I'm going to be honest; I also have Osgood Schlatter. I used to be a great soccer player, but I switched to tennis because of my knee. This is actually creepy how similar this story is.
I love when people talk good about tennis! I chose to be a tennis player too, my whole family just goes to the gym or swims, so chose my own path! I’ve played for 7 years and have been working so hard all those years to fulfill my dream of become a pro… I don’t know if that will ever happen but I will always try. Tennis is a great sport and wouldn’t give it up ever so keep going Rek!
First off I love your videos especially these commentary ones. I also wanted to tell you that the disease you have on your knee is called osgood schlatter. I have it too and it sucks. Keep up the good work!
Brooo this is so relatable! Last year we had a choice between hockey and rugby for our sport lessons every week and I chose hockey. I got put in the training group and I trained hard hoping to get chosen for the hockey squad next term/semester. But I'm 2 foot tall skinny as a pencil and can't run a meter without panting for breath (i dont even have athsma) so I have no physical strength whatsoever so obviously I didn't get chosen for the squad and now have to do boring rugby for the next couple years. Hooray 😂
nice vid Rek, after my freshman year of cross country, my knee had developed some growth plate thing... idk--it prevented me from running long distance in track and field which is lame, but that led me to find out that i was good at javelin. good times. ps. what's your 5k PR?
I believe you are referring to Osgood-Schlatter Disease the bump on your knee, it showed up for me last summer and took me out of doing anything for a while
