Sweet build and great video, I may have to pick up one of those Honda hats too! With that Mikuni VM26-606 carb the "choke" is more of an enrichment plunger so you are doing it right by raising the idle speed when cold. Basically, turn idle screw up 1/4 - 1/2 turn, pull with the choke on until it just fires. (1-2 pulls) then close the choke plunger immediately. Once warmed up return idle screw back to where it was. I find the stock VM26 jetting (21.5 Pilot, 190 main) too rich for even my built up 150cc motor. You will likely see a lot of black soot buildup on the base threads of your spark plug indicating this. Try a 175 - 180 main jet on the 140cc and if you have an off throttle bog (very likely) dropping to a 18.5 pilot will greatly help to lean out the transition carb circuit improving the part throttle response. This is why you are able to start without the "choke" and only raising the idle screw as the low speed pilot jet is so rich. A smaller pilot jet will also lean out the idle circuit a little bit which is fine as you can see the overly rich black smoke exiting the muffler when revving with the stock carb jetting. Just note with a smaller pilot jet you will likely need a quick hit of the choke plunger to get fired but overall engine performance should be more responsive and the spark plug will not get so black.
It looks good ! 👍Never find these where I live, thankfully I picked up a ATC 70 almost 20 years ago and hung on to it. Gave it to my son for Christmas last year !
Since this is an 86. The breaks are on the handlebars (front and rear). But with this motor being a manual, I didn’t put in the front breaks, and just had the rear breaks hooked up along with the clutch lever.
I have one of these but it won’t start because the spark plug wasn’t fully in and someone messed around when it wasn’t right in can you help the spark plug won’t go in fully
your threads might of gotten stripped if someone went riding without it fully tightened down you might have to pull your engine and get it re-threaded thats just my guess
I know this is an old video but when you got it was it running I have one and has no spark and want moter swap it but if it's worth something I'll sell it
It’s scary being on something that fast and that small it’s not enough to hold on to I’ve be on things that was fast and small and it’s pretty scary so I know how yo feel😁 @kjezy3x
