Couldn’t agree more that if it’s not broke, don’t fix it! I use OneNote as my planner and do a sort of bullet journal situation. I like that it’s searchable if I need to find anything that I’ve taken notes on during a meeting (working 100% remote). Been using it for about a year and it’s wonderful!

So okay...I used the A5 Week on Two Days Per Page from C&P last year. It didn't work for me but I forced myself to finish out the year. This year I switched to the EC Daily Duo. It's working so far. However, I will consider the Day Designer for next year. I love the sectioning on the daily pages.

@@nichelleedwards1962 there’s some courses on LinkedIn Learning about using it as a bullet journal but you could probably find something on RU-vid as well. I work 100% remote so it’s easier for me to use for work since I can take better notes and not look away from the screen during video meetings.

I am using a Hobo Weeks planner for the first time this year and it is working out beautifully! As a Payroll Coordinator my job is mainly a big task list, few meetings, important deadlines, and lots of tasks that just seem to pop up on a daily basis. It all fits great in such a small space and the portability with my hybrid work schedule is perfect! Side note: Payroll Coordinators really appreciate their HR Generalists! 😉

Hey there, how is the weeks working for you so far? I’m thinking of getting one for next year. I’m also working in a role where I manage a lot of projects and a task list as long as the Chinese wall 😂. But very few meetings (2/week in average). Could you maybe explain a little how you use the different layouts of the weeks? Thank you 🙏

I have used the large Recollections horizontal planner for the past 2 yrs and I loved it. It was big and the horizontal layout was just enough for me to write down my weekly tasks. And the monthly view was big enough to keep up with staff PTO. They discontinued it and I about spiraled!! I settled on the big happy planner horizontal for this year because horizontal worked for me and it's big enough to keep up with tasks with my new position. Luckily I got it on sale. I like it I guess. I bought metal discs to put on it because some of the plastic ones were broke when it was delivered.

I'm using the smaller but not pocket size Target Day Designer weekly planner. I used it all last year and picked up a new one for this year. I just love it. Paired with a cheap notebook for running to do's and meeting notes, it's the little planner that could.

In 2022 I was using a Day Designer daily for work too, but then the wire o binding started fall ing apart. Finished half the year with a Plum Paper Daily and added some extra pages for notes and meetings on spiral…..game changer!! Just finishing up with January then re-purchasing Plum Paper but this time getting on disc for 2023. Thoughts are I could move my meeting notes to the days I had the meetings.

I couldn’t agree with you more, I tried using EC teacher planner last year, and I found my self missing tasks or when employee were out of office. This year I went back to HP big size. I am a practice manager and I have weekly, monthly reports and tasks and change often, the big size give me a lot of space to write, also I can just punch my meeting agenda and put it right in my planner. Helps me stay organized. I know it January but I feel better being back in my old faithful planner it works for me

I love how you found something that worked for you and not worried about trying to change it. I was looking for a planner for work as I start a new supervisor position soon. I use a plum paper now but fill like I need something that will break my day down a little more.

I started using the amplify planner this year for work and it's been really great! I'm very pleased with how much more productive I feel. I was just using a notebook but I felt like I was missing things. I do like the idea of the day designer so I may end grabbing one for when this planner ends because it's just quarterly. But we'll see!

I use a happy planner dashboard in classic size. Pen only. Discs allow me to add and remove project pages as needed and the like. The act of writing things down helps my recollection massively. Oh, forgot so came back to add: I use narrative hues overlays to bring out some of my notes more.

I’m using a paper planner for the first time in 20 years. I bought the Day Designer for Blue Sky from Target and it is a game changer! I have the daily/monthly version, it looks just like yours, and I absolutely love it! It’s 8” x 10”.

I'm also in HR and use a daily. The best one for me is the EC daily duo. I like the A5 size. It doesn't take up too much room on my desk. And they have the weekend days separate. I work retail HR so I dont have Saturday and Sunday off. I also will have to work 6 day work weeks on occasion. So having each day is very helpful. I used a small day designer the 1st year but had to redate it when I worked a weekend day and had to change stuff around when it was a 6 day week.

Hi Julie! I also work in HR and very hesitant when I want to show my work planner. I couldn’t do the rings. So I bought a planner from Amazon. I'm using an Erin Condren A5 softbound planner in the horizontal layout. I'm using it to mark holidays, paydays, and daily tasks. I marked out the Saturday and Sunday dates each week with whiteout tape and use it to write important tasks that need to happen that week, or to write down new tasks that come up during meetings. It's been a great tool so far and it's the first time I'm using a work planner.

I'm using a work planner I don't particularly love, it's just a vertical weekly I was gifted and I write lists of daily priorities in it. But I love a notebook I got from Plum Paper - the front section is laid out for meeting notes, then I added a brainstorming section, a list section, a lined notes section, and a grid paper section. It's perfect because my days are often very meeting driven and that schedule is in my Outlook. Otherwise, it's a lot of projects, monitoring, on-going initiatives, etc.. :)

I started 2023 using the c&p spiral horizontal as well. Since it came in the sub box I was excited to have my work planner figured out. Although it’s beautiful it’s just not working for how I need it to for my job. Daily is really where it’s at when it comes to work planning for me. There’s just not enough room for my busy days of meetings, tasks and notes in a weekly A5 size. I have an EC daily duo for Jan-June 2023 that I have left over from last year’s release so I’ll be using that for now but may have to check out Target mid year. I love that the Day Designer has a whole year in one book.

When I worked in management, we had to use the sitewide scheduling system (outlook) but I was always a paper planner. Most of the years I used the trusty Franklin Covey system with an A5 leather binder and monthly/daily on two pages inserts. I always had favorite pens, but back then, I would use whatever I could get my hands on. It seems so funny to me now, considering how I’ll throw a mini tantrum if I can’t find my 03 uni pin fineliner when it’s time to plan in my hobo cousin!! My how times have changed. I really love that you are using that planner from Target, it looks nice, and I think I want to check it out. The paper looks nice and white, I really liked the daily layout, and you are so right about having lined monthly boxes! Great video Julie ❤😘

The C&P notebook is pretty. I use a cousin, the monthly is for events, meetings, deadlines, paydays etc. The weeklies has what time I spend per client and some other notes for that week on the sat-sun space, the dailies are for daily tasks, top 3, etc and on the sat-sun dailies I write to do lists and/or meeting notes.

I use the same Day Designer planner for the office. I work in state government and can only request purchases of office supplies from our state-approved vendors, which for my agency is Office Depot. I have daily deadlines for my many projects which go into my To Do list. The daily notes section is used for reminders, and the schedule is great for meetings, appointments, and marking the occasional project that has a different eTime code than my default one. I use the weekends page to list my wins/accomplishments for each week so that when I have my annual Performance Development Plan in December, I can give that info to my supervisor.

Thanks for sharing, I wouldn’t be able to share the details of my work planner on social media either. I have always used a paper planner for work for the longest I used the Franklin Covey 2 pages per day. I ended 2022 using that same notebook, but because I often have a lot of meetings any given day I needed something with a little more structure. So I have started of the year using my Hobonichi Cousin for work and personal in conjunction with EC productivity planner, which would be perfect if it had more productivity pages.
