Dear Alaina, I really enjoy your soft and kind sounding voice. You speak in sentences that are easy to comprehend and you break down what you present into small 'chunks' that are relatable. I highly appreciate that you do not claim to have the ultimate system or demand people to follow your every step but offer solutions and explain how they work for you so that people can decide for themselves if and how they might want to incorporate them into their planning habits. I get really horrible migraines (yay me!) and after I finally get rid of one, I’m stupid. Literally stupid. My brain doesn’t work right and I’m just in this awful fog. This will last at least the rest of that day, if not into the next day. I’ve always struggled with what to do with myself during this recovery period - I’m too brain dead to work (I’m a full-time romance author, and it takes brains and creativity to write, neither of which I have during my recovery periods!) I don’t really want to do projects around the house bc that’s physical, and I’m just exhausted. I can’t stand just sitting around and watching TV for hours - I’m not built for that. I finally hit upon the idea of decorating my planner. Instead of only decorating on Sundays, I’ll sit on the couch and decorate upcoming weeks - making them beautiful even when I’m incapable of much else. Even better, when I turn to a new week and already see a gorgeously decorated spread there waiting for me, it’s like a little present to myself. I love seeing the spread that I’d already forgotten that I’d made, haha. I now have spreads done up weeks and weeks in advance, and every week I get to see what a gorgeous job I did when I turn the page and see it for the first time post-brain fog. Anyone else who deals with chronic pain like I do, it’s just a suggestion on how to be productive even when your brain hates you, lol. Decorated spreads are beautiful spreads, and I’m MUCH more likely to use my planner if I like how it looks. So decorating is actually key for me using it. Others may think it’s dumb, but I don’t care. It works for me. ❤️

I'm "newish" to Happy Planners, a new subscriber, and LOVE your videos! I've never found a system that would work the way my brain works until I found you. My life is very busy as a wife, homeschooling mom of 5 (18-4 yrs old), in school myself, running a home-based craft business, fitness, etc... I needed to get my life in order and your planner methods are helping tremendously.

I love planners and organization, however, I'm so scatter-brained, it's difficult for me to catch all my thoughts and contain them in one place. You've given me great ideas on how to do that! Hello! I just discovered your channel today. I’ve watched a couple of your videos so far and am really enjoying watching how you use your planners. I have seen other people do this too. I have a few questions for you. 1. It looks like it could get costly to put together these planners. Do you have any tips on how to do it cost effectively? 2. When just starting out putting a planner together, how can you do it without being completely overwhelmed by it & not spending a ton of time trying to get it all organized? Or is it inevitable that it will take a good chunk of time in the beginning? 3. Do you save your used planners & what is your system on storing them? It seems like every time I plan a weekend or a project (like major overhaul of cleaning the house) it hits the fan!!! I was very sick most of this past weekend with super bad headaches so not much got done!!! I have had to depend on my husband to get things done!!! Sometimes you have to say NO to people who are gonna sidetrack your time!!!
