“My Dear Fox” was a group animation project in which I participated throughout the entire process from concept work to post. My contributions include storyboarding a portion of the film, making character expression sheets, and the early blocking animations of half the 3D scenes. I was able to practice incorporating 2D elements with the 3D animation styles. For example, I helped to draw and animate the 2D faces and expressions as well as any 2D effects such as expression lines or word bubbles. I also edited and composed the progress animatics and final composition of the film. The concepts I learned included restructuring the traditional animation pipeline to fit the needs of the project, animating a rigged 3D character in Blender, combining animation and art styles across platforms, and completing an animated short by working with a team.
