It's time for another Meme or Dream? The series where we take decks published on www.magic.gg that (maybe, perhaps) got six wins in a row at platinum rank or better in best of three on Arena and try to find out if they are a dream and live up to the hype or are actually a meme and as janky as they look!
Today we have a true rarity: a deck that manages to forget a sideboard, but includes The Deck of Many Things. Can the Jund Dollhouse of Horrors build work as published? If not, how can we upgrade it to make it function? Let's find out on today's Meme or Dream?

This deck gives me the same vibes as those AI generated cards. It's definitely a Magic deck and it definitely does...things but it sure doesn't feel like any of those things make any sense, nor do most of the cards. I feel like if Sparky was able to build her own deck it would likely look something like this.

Best meme or dream. Fixing the deck but keeping the spirit of it. I recommend doing that for all of these. It’s far more interesting than watch you lose 5 matches painfully.

the hidden text on mirror box: legendary creatures you control get +1/+1, so even if you don't have a lot of multiples, it is really good when most of your creatures are legendary.

I took a break from magic after covid shut everything down because I like playing at my local game store. Online magic has never truly appealed to me. Anyway, today I decided to see what’s been up. The moment my fiancé heard this video from across the house, she was like “OMG IS THAT SETH, PROBABLY BETTER KNOWN AS SAFFRONOLIVE?!” 😂🤣 Never change, Seth. You’re a gem to the community.

Bloodtithe Harvester seems like a windmill slam 4-of in this deck, it does absolutely everything you want for 2 mana in your colors. It's a creature, it's removal, it comes with a looting effect you can use whenever you need, it kills itself so you can bring it back with Dollhouse and do it all over again. And it would synergize with Voltage Surge.

I think adding a sideboard and rebuilding the deck are good parts to include in Meme or Dream vids going forward. They help to demonstrate both what these Meme decks are lacking and how to better construct your deck around a certain strategy or card. It also doesn't hurt to have a palette cleanser after 3+ games of durdling.

I agree with many of the other commenters here that fixing the deck to work somewhat effectively should be done whenever it is clear that the deck is not a "dream". Helps to show how proper deck-building can make any build-around card win a few games. Also helps to improve amateurs players skills deck building skills in terms of what to look for and how not to fall into common traps. Great video!

Nice to see meme or dream making a comeback after bigbrain brews comeback! Any chance we'll get a "this or that magic" comeback? Was always hoping for a 'Hats or Tails' episode where a deck with all cards having hats in their art faces off vs a deck where every card has a tail in the art But we now also have support for things like 'coins or dice' and new Cappena's 'crime or justice' where we got criminals facing against Ravnica's azure police or something like that. And well I am sure you can come up with 100 more

Goldfish introduced me to the Meeting/wide-spread thieving deck. I made it a little bit faster, but the thing is a BLAST! People get so mad! - nobody likes 2 lose to Meeting and it's guaranteed fun as long as you Meeting. It is better to Meeting and lose, then to win, and not Meeting @ all! I can't imagine the level of luck both good and bad needed by the person playing this deck to draw the best pieces of their deck and their opponents to draw the worst pieces of their deck consistently enough for that deck to go 6 wins in a row. But I guess when you have millions of players playing hundreds of millions of games, you're going to get highly unlikely results once in a blue moon.

On the mirror box, isn't one of the effects each creature with the same name gets +1/+1 for each creature of the same name?

Deck of Many Things isn't bad... Right? Like, if you're running low on cards (which is usually the case when you're trying to draw), it's a bit less than a 50% chance of drawing two cards or 50% chance of drawing a non-land card at a point at which you do not want lands. Sure, it's no immortal sun, but it's still draw.

I love the dollhouse, but instead of reanimating bigboys, I tried different versions of construct-tribal. Mono-white was solid and the red/black Version with the anvil was funny :)

I think it's funny how game 1 with the rebuild was basically just playing the normal deck until you drew into the new finishers instead of the old ones. That's the Magic Gods for ya.

What do you think about gold hound in the deck as a ramp source? It's ramp that can go to the graveyard to be a low value reanimation target in you need a chump blocker, plus it's a treasure that can be sacced to Magda.

Minute 9: You had RRRRGGG(Treasure) on land drop. Cast two Jaspara with RR, since one Jaspara has haste it can tap the other for B and the treasure would also be B, which could have been Kaito mana I think

Liking this deck without Magda or Mirror Box. Oni-Cult Anvil does make treasure do more when I'm stacking Fables, and strengthens Doll House's copies. If they rotate back in Revel in Riches, this deck could get ridiculous. Might pivot it into Citizens, but some of the win-cons in the deck as written are baffling.

I think the Ziatora may have been meant as an alternative thing to tutor with Magda, but probably also a limited collection thing, since even among legendary dragons Gnawbone and Inferno are much better with Dollhouse.

8:55 It's easy to miss, and it definitely wouldn't have mattered, but still: realizing that the sentinels can get you to Koma mana, while completely missing that you already have Koma mana was a bit painful to watch :/

He was short a 2nd blue source there. And the sentinel needs a 2nd creature to tap for mana. So no, he was still short at that time.

Mirror box super charges your magdas. If you have multiple magdas, you make a treasure per magda, per dwarf that is tapped.

My problem with sideboards is that I don't understand the meta well enough to know what should be in it, and why. I could have a perfect sideboard, but I would still have to have instructions on what to do when facing an angel deck, or whatever.

Honestly, I think this series is kind of moot once you factor in the matchmaking algorithm. I like when you do well unexpectedly, but I really think these 6-0 records are based on an account with an abysmal starting win percentage. Quite possibly just someone that auto conceded a lot of matches in a row just to trick the algorithm into giving them very good match ups. Your account isn't likely to see the same types of opponents as someone like that.

Currently just watched the first 2 matches and this deck just seems so, so bad. Wondering if it's going to turn around or not, but I'm highly doubtful.

I'm honestly always a little baffled by people who make Dollhouse decks that are trying to reanimate big stuff. The card really wants to either be in a deck with a bunch of Constructs (so your bodies start at 3/3 or so instead of 1/1) or stuff like Clever Conjuror (so you can build your board quickly after the Dollhouse comes down). Or, heck, run it with some of the Channel cards from NEO so that you don't need to rely on looting effects (and then you sneak in Scrap Welder to do janky shenanigans...) I just don't see the appeal of reanimating some huge mythic a turn early... except that mythic is a 1/1.

I think the point of this deck isn't hard-casting the Dollhouse, it's using Mirror Box and Magda to get a ton of treasures (multiple Magdas means multiple "when a dwarf is tapped" triggers), then sacrificing them to pull Dollhouse and DoMT (or Ziatora, who is a dragon) from the deck, plus extra Mirror Boxes for more +1/+1 action. Then, you use the Dollhouse to reanimate, the legendaries come back with much bigger bonuses than just the 1/1 (because 1 Mirror Box makes them a 2/2, two make them 3/3s, etc), and just push the advantage from the mana. Dollhouse gets countered, but if you're only casting the lower CMC cards and then ramping so heavily you can Magda it straight onto the battlefield, then it can't be countered.

I've been playing this game for close to 20 years and I can't believe that people actually hold this "anti-sideboarding" sentiment that Seth talks about during match 2. It's completely baffling to me.
