Another videos about defense, this one more extreme than the previous one I made with the Alfa Romeo 4C, because we brake from +300km/h. Enjoy! Please support my channel on Patreon: / viperconcept
Late breaking is almost always a bad idea anyway. Unless you're a very high lvl driver you'll gain more on exit than entry. Plus if your opponent is on the inside, his exit speed will be compromised so you just pass him on the straight.
Id say in a tighter corner you can risk braking extra late for the outside line , but the faster and wider the turn you should brake less late and try to carry more speed than your opponent for the outside line.
@@loganm2766 it also depends on the speed and the gap. If you're at max speed with a very short gap, you'll need to break before the guy in front or you'll smash right into him.
by default you dont have to brake later on the outside line (race line). because the inside line will always have to brake earlier than the one on the race line if not they will run out wide and you can again overtake them on the inside.
Every thing he talks about I know all ready, but I still watch his videos because it is a lovely feeling to see i'm not the only one who's an passionate driver as me ;)
Hey Viper! Just recently started watching your videos. I enjoy your races and your driving. Especially the hard battles. Keep it up. I really love the videos!
You improved the quality of your videos a lot, good job mate! Keep going, I am not racing in games, but i like to watch your videos in the background. Often you're telling many practical informations and all is defended by a knowledge.
Nice racing Viper and educating videos... very similar thoughts than I have and used. I'm happy to see that this kind of clean and fear racing is more usual than ever with sim racing. Keep up the good videos 👍😎
@Lo-Fi Gaming Come to Assetto Corsa Competizione. There are Competition servers with high Safety ratings which results in cleaner driving and also you get opponents from your own calibar. If you are fast and clean driver, the system puts opponents like you together in a race. For example: to participate in Competition Server you need Minimum 70 Safety points (99 points is maximum). You get 1 Safety point for each 10 minute race IF you are racing very close together WiTHOUT touching each other. If you even touch you don’t get any points which results that the bad hitters are staying out because they never can come to 70 points. And the system is very strict. You get just 1 safety point for 10 minutes close race but lose 1 safety point by just touching or hitting your opponent. So earning and building up your safety points are difficult, time, precision and skill demanding. I also have GT Sport also did some online races, even with Safety letter: S it’s soo bad, rammers everywhere. With Assetto Corsa Competizione on competition server everybody gives 100 % effort to not ram or hit you. I find multiplayer on Assetto Corsa Competizione 1000 times better then GTS, not even comparable. So get Assetto Corsa Competizione, learn it to drive perfect because the GT3 race cars handles very different then GT3 race cars of GTS. Assetto Corsa Competizione is really good GT3 race car simulator. I can go and go about it but this is the end. Hope you get informed well. See you soon hopefully on the Competition Server of Assetto Corsa Competizione. 💎🧨💯
@@bmwM3M5M6 Wow I appreciate your notes. You got me interested buying asset corsa competizione. ahahah. Thanks mate, will definitely try it out. It's been on my radar but have doubts until this comment. haha
These videos are helping me be less of a spoon when it comes to defending and overtaking in races. Yes, the races are in Forza where defending means chuck the opponent off the track, but I'm not that kind of person. Thank you for indirectly making me a better driver, Viper.
Hey viper great video it’s awesome that you’re not afraid to show your flaws. Also you’re absolutely right about the “fatal mistake” just a few days ago I was in a really close online race and on the last lap I was pushing too hard and made one of these fatal mistakes and the guy pulled a gap from me. I realized how bad I messed up after watching the mistakes he makes in the next few corners and how easy it would have been to overtake him if I just had a bit more patience
Hi, that was one the most educating video game video I have ever watched and it should be watched by those who reckon that playing video games is easy and it is just a play. Superb , I am very grateful for all that knowledge shared , demontrated and explained.
I really like your newer videos with your own voice. It makes the video feel so much authentic and likeable! Also, truly impressed with your racecraft, and humbled that you are willing to share it with us all. Thank you for being an awesome, AWESOME human being. If you ever find yourself in India, I will be delighted to take you out for some beers and introduce you to the freakshow of motorsport that is the daily commute in my country :p
i really love your videos man so much information ...i always try to drive like u and it works most of the time but the thing is if the people dont know what defensive driving is then they always crash into u most of the times ... so it makes it hard imo to drive like that if you arent driving with experienced drivers ..... anyway keep up the good work love your vids man
Great video as always. Using the actual case on how you defend your position. Foreseeing which part of the track you go and pressuring the opponents. Sounds easy but it surely is a difficult maneuver. Perfect save on taking the risk on 7:00. It's really nice that you are explaining one by one how you thought and why you are taking that racing line. Keep it up. Stay safe.
I’ve noticed that many times I don’t breathe when I’m making a turn or in other situations, I saw that professional drivers train not to do this, over time I realized that this is something that bothers me and I would also like to know if u can make a video about how to improve this and also focus more on the driving, sometimes I lose focus and end up committing mistakes
@@thefunnybuddy4138 It can affect your focus. Having a regular breathing no matter the situation is the best. Racing is all about focus (the track, the car and yourself)
You usually use the limits on the track on your favor to do faster corners? I mean, if you can bc there is road after the piano per example in the turn of 8:12, you put the left whels outside of the piano to get a wider racing line a do a faster corner or in GTSport isn't allowed? i don't have ps4 so i'm asking, in games like F1, PC2 or ACC is allowed and don't give a penalty
Ummm sorry to ask but my project cars 2 in ps4 for some reason freezes sometimes mid race and my disk had no scratches so i was wandering what is wrong with it pls reply
Hi viper! I have the logitech g29 but in daily races I cant use the clutch and the h shifter with cars that are manual in real life, I have manual transmission in my settings, do you know what is the problem?
Its because bop is on in those races and all the cars have sequential transmissions/custom gear ratios for that race even if you have manual on the clutch won't work but the h shifter does
@@Darklord_tK Are you sure the h shifter works? Because whenever I do a daily race the cars usually run stock transmissions and I can only use the paddles to shift.
@@ilikechicken7084 it works for me whenever its not gr. 3 or gr. 4 usually in daily race A other from that it's forced to paddle shift only because all of the gt3 cars use paddles irl
Alright I’m kinda one of ‘those guys’ but idk exactly what level everyone is at, you’re both pretty damn quick. I think one of the unnoticed keys to some of the defenses you pulled off was proof of your skill not the quality of the defense. In particular when he passed you and you shot it back a few turns later by playing the long game on the inside line. Man I race in the top 1% on e racing games and when you performed some of those overtakes you did it with a lot more confidence and smoothness than you were taking to the rest of your lap. A lot of really good drivers are engaged by competition and you appear to be one of them. Great advice for people to hold the inside line, great advice to think about limiting defense, great advice to always posture into the place your opponent wants to be. Return overtaking is a really difficult skill and I’m not going to find the time stamps to explain which ones people should expect to work and which they shouldn’t but your opponent gave you respect a few times that a slightly higher level racer absolutely would not. He broke out to avoid collisions and likely to avoid GTs penalty system but had he stayed in and aggressive he could have had clean defenses. Your opponent was a little bit scared and you were a little bit erratic, so you’re likely right that he decided to be patient and wait for a mistake. Overall 10/10 good racing
Hey viper! I really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from them for my own racing. However, I have to disagree with a few things in this video: first, the Skyline driver at the beginning wasn't really at fault for touching you there, you barely managed to get your front wheel next to his rear and in those cases you should be the one to wait for a better opportunity to overtake him instead of forcing yourself into the gap as you did. So that penalty was on you in my opinion. Then about those penalties: As it was evident from the video they don't really seem to have an impact on your pace, so if those penalties were enforced properly the German driver would probably have been able to establish more distance between him and you and could have escaped providing you with slipstream. But that's more of a shortcoming of GT Sport than of you as a driver, it's nothing you can really do anything about :) Anyway, keep up the good work, I really like watching your videos! :)
im a begginer in sim racing (i use my brother's pc to play assetto corsa lol) and i still play gran turismo 4 for to this day my ps2 kicks it after 20 years and i just wanted to ask what is a slipstream?
When you're following a car on a straight you get the slipstream. Basically, because the car in front cuts through the air, your car finds the void instead, thus being "sucked" and gaining extra speed.
