If this game has a terrain painter tool, you could maybe change the floor texture around the mines from grass to dirt or sand to better fit the aesthetics

That’s my biggest complaint of most city builder games. The terrain is all the same picket-fence yard grass. It’s like weeds don’t exist.

Hey Kibz I saw a video where the guy played with the terrain after the mine was set. He added small bumps and holes in the terrain, wich was way more realistic. You can for example have some fake rocks or wells. You should try that on your mega mines !

you may find Soviet blocks ugly looking but they often are planned very well, with parks, shops in the lowest floor, playgrounds and a lot of space between the blocks, not a bad space honestly, planned way better than a lot of modern developments that are only focussing on making profit

I don't Know if you are aware, but if you set the fees, that your people pay for water and electricity to 0% your (zoned) factories and office buildings will get a 2*20% efficiency boost for a total of 44%.

You don't need resources in the earth to collect the rock (ore) for the maintenance of roads and buildings. You can build them anywhere on the map, except water.

I think kibitz should build a new mountainous area with roads winding up and down the mountains, the mountains could also be covered in trees and you could build some houses/lodges on the mountains it would really remind me of my country scotland and I think it would be an amazing addition in your city!

Keep in mind that, as industries level up, their demand for workers increases! Also, number of households does not mean number of workers - households can have multiple adults or have kids still in school. So your new district, although great, has probably already run out of labour heh

For the next set of housing demands, I say you should figure out the smallest possible zoning area for high density stuff and checkerboard all the high density residential, commercial, and office buildings to make another nightmare. >:D

The smallest zone for all the zones is 2*2 except for row houses which can be 2*1, in case you want to try this yourself. Some zone types don't have 2*3 or 3*2 so sometimes you have to knock a few down to get the right spacing if you don't have an even number of squares in your grid.

I suggest making a subway to atleast give your slaves some comfort while coming to industries, also you have cargo harbour? If not what are you waiting for? Make it! Also I suggest making an profit tourist city like the one you made last time in CS1!
