The plaintiff was walking her dog when the defendant’s dog followed her and bit her pup, so she’s suing for vet bills and missed work. The defendant claims there was no attack, and the plaintiff is making it all up for some cash. 27-114
This poor dog is waiting for his owner to rescue him from animal control, and he doesn't care. In addition, the dog being a foot tall doesn't mean he can't jump the low fence.
almost all attacking dog owners deny responsibility. On the other hand, it's really stupid to put your dog on top of an SUV and then walk away from it....she should have stayed with the little one to keep it on the SUV. Pits rarely go after big ppl (they will run after screaming little children) cheers!
@@jennross6466 no it's not. They prefer smaller dogs and small children. Just watch the court cases.....it's very rare for a lawsuit to be a Pit Bull attacking a dog that's larger than it is. They're almost all small dogs.
He CHOOSES to feign ignorance. He's the typical Pit defendant on court shows, smug, reckless, and ice cold... until they have issues, these ridiculous owners couldn't give a rat's rump🤯
My neighbors pit bulls jump the fence all the time and chases the kids. He had the nerve to get beware of dog signs in his yard. I now carry to protect me and my 15 lb dog.
@@bjohnson1149 Exactly! And for this guy to say he doesn’t know how his dog got out?? I knew someone with 2 pit bulls that always jumped their 9 foot fence!
The defendant should never be allowed to own dogs. Not only was the plaintiff's dog almost killed, but the DEFENDANT'S dog was subject to all manner of beating and kicking. All because the defendant is grossly irresponsible. And now that poor dog is at the animal shelter, probably marked as a dangerous animal, it will probably never be adopted, and will likely be put down. "There is a difference, because there are no more court dates now." This is a man who doesn't give one flying fuck about any animal.
He must seek help from a trainer or free online tutorials. There are experts on Pit Bulls online that he could learn from. This is what Judges should be telling defendants like him.
@@MusicTennis that only works if the dog owner care about there dog and the community they live in. This guy clearly cares about neither, as shown by his refusal to attend the hearings about the attack and his willingness surrender the dog like it’s a worthless piece of trash.
as a pitbull owner I take a lot of precaution- he's the sweetest thing ever and I've never had any issues but I understand how people feel and thus will go to great lengths so there aren't any issues. This dude is an embarrassment to pitbull owners and actually dog owners in general.
I'm not sure it's about how people feel. Their rep is mostly because when they do bite the damage is excessive because they don't let go. I commend you for taking precautions.
@MrCharlesEldredge I agree with that too. Chihuahuas are technically more aggressive but their teeth couldn't pop a balloon and pitbulls can bite through a steel mortar
I never seen a case in the local news where human error, negligence, didn't play a role. Freak accidents is always less than .01 %. No less common than slip and fall on a banana peel, or a shark bite. Responsible pet ownership always plays a role. From the way your dogs behave, around who, keeping kids safe, and doors, fences, closed, damage repair. I have 10 dogs, and 5 cats, in a 3 acre property. I rescue, any time an animal shows aggression, injury tendencies, I adopt them out. Just because like them to roam free, and enjoy themselves. The area is too large impossible to control what if. In the other hand, a tenant hid a violent ram from us, that he adopted from days old. He loved this animal, but couldn't handle it any longer. Broke a fence, attacked me. He was evicted voluntarily because he put everyone in danger, and is completely unacceptable.
A few recent dog attacks in Australia where a person has been mauled have occurred in the family home, by the family pit bull that everyone swears were the sweetest dogs. I don't know the complete backgrounds of the dogs or owners, but inbred instincts do come out in some dogs and pit bulls were originally bred and taught to fight and kill other dogs. I am sure you are a responsible pit bull owner, but there is one reason I believe why pit bulls should be banned or owned by only responsible people and is that so many are owned by delusional people like the defendant. By the same token, that guy shouldn't be allowed to own anything bigger than a goldfish.
When the owners talk about their dog, they brag that they got a "Pitt" like it makes them look more like a bad@ss... but when their dog bites, they try to shy away from all that bragging they do or try not to call it a pittbull or had the audacity to say, "I have it around my baby and nothing EVER happened..it's the sweetest dog...it's misunderstood.." blah blah The point is, regardless of how nice and responsible of an owner they are, the dog naturally locks on to what ever its biting and will not let go. I love animals but if I ever got a Pitt, I would make DAMN sure it was under my control and walk it with a leash and muzzle at all times
@@mcicalese58 They actually do kill larger animals. And people, although they do usually kill smaller animals and babies. Tens of thousands every year. Over 90% of fatal dog attacks are by Pits. The US is now literally overflowing with Pits and Pit mixes (check any shelter)...and now the XL Pit (bigger and stronger) is gaining popularity. Pits are banned in many countries for good reason. The Pit bull propaganda has been wildly successful. A lot of it is here on youtube. Everyone denies science and blames the owner, especially when it's the owner and their children who are mauled to death. Pits were genetically manipulated to fight to the death, even under tremendous pain. Not to herd sheep, retrieve dead ducks, and especially not to be "nanny dogs" as the propaganda insists (a blatant lie). IMO victim-blaming is despicable. Science is REAL. Genetics are REAL.
I have a girl pitbull that I’ve had since she was eight weeks old. She is the most loyal and loving dog. TO ME. They are naturally aggressive, and even though I can tell you that my pitbull has never bit anybody. It’s because I control her and I’m very responsible with her even when my own grandchildren come over she is put up or she is with me at all times I never leave her in the same room with my grandkids and she loves my grandkids, but I’ll take no chances with her just because of the breed that she is they are strong and they are fearless. That’s why everybody wants one but if you’re gonna have one, you have to be responsible
🇺🇸❤️🙏🏽🇺🇸Citizens remember the defendant’s face, IF u live in HIS community STAY SAFE AND KEP YOUR ANIMALS SAFE the defendant is CLUELESS TO THE MAX!!🔥🔥👍🏽🙏🏽❤️🇺🇸
Pit bull owners will go to great lengths to defend their dogs, but the facts speak for themselves. The propensity for violence has been bred into the dog. I don't care how lovingly they were raised. Any dog can bite for whatever reason. It's their ferocity and the bite strength that does maximum damage to it's victims. They have a bad rep for a reason. That's why many communities ban them and most homeowner's insurance companies will drop you or refuse to insure you if you have a pit bull.
I had a pit bull that was by far the least aggressive dog I've ever owned. My nephew had one that was always nice then one day out of the blue it attacked me as I was getting out of my truck. Even with mine being so easy going I was always vigilant because I know what the breed is capable of. The problem is exactly what you pointed out. All dogs may bite at some point and even if a pit bull isn't more likely to bite, it's jaw strength and the way they bite will make it much worse if it does. So many pit bull owners treat them like any other dog simply based on the fact they haven't shown aggression in the past. That's unacceptable and a big part of their bad reputation. I would have no problem owning another one but like every pit bull owner should, I would control it at all times as if it were a deadly aggressive dog ready to attack at any time. It can be a sweet family pet inside the home but it should never be handled in a manner in which it can attack outside of the home. They need a good strong leash, collar and muzzle in public and the person handling them must have the physical and mental ability to keep them under control and never get distracted. Personally I find chihuahuas and other small breeds to be far more aggressive on average but fortunately they lack the size and strength to be very dangerous.
@@Xterraforce Your last statement is very true. Some smaller dogs seem more aggressive, but are infinitely less likely to do significant damage. Pit bulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans and other breeds are capable of inflicting extreme damage or even death. Most owners want to treat them like Golden Retrievers. Judge Judy always kept news articles on her bench with stories about families with pit bulls that were never aggressive, until one day they just went off and mauled and/or killed children who were just playing and not even interacting with the dog.
I knew a Pitbull that was very friendly. I wouldn't have even known she was a pitbull because her ears and tail weren't docked. So it absolutely DOES matter how they're treated. Too many people who are neglectful or abusive get pitbulls. However, their bite capacity is extremely strong so you have to be careful. I don't back banning any dog, but because of what they can become, you need to be careful and, especially if the dog had already been aggressive, there needs to be set rules specifically for known aggressive dogs where the owners punishment is more severe.
My thoughts exactly. And I'll add that some pit bull (and some other breeds as well) owners choose the pit, consciously or unconsciously, for that reputation, out of fear of and/or the desire to intimidate other humans. Also reflected in the names they give their dogs.
There was just too much laughing going on from the people sitting in the audience / gallery. If this case was on Judge Judy she would have said, HEY BE QUIET! There's nothing funny in here and if you all keep laughing I'll clear this courtroom!
I had a female pit mix who was our inside house protector. She was completely anti social, as we also had a beagle Rottweiler mix was a little more relaxed But. But, but we all knew that and never just let them even rome around outside without supervision. So it’s up to the pet owners to know the temperament of your pets period.
MIss Irving, take care of Emmy, I used to have a shihtzhu and she was the light of my life. I am so sorry about what happened, thank you for taking care of your sweet baby.
The owners of the pitbull are disgusting people... He says his sister "put the dog up for adoption" NO, You Didn't!! Basically, You sent that dog to be murdered! That pitbull cannot be placed for adoption especially after attacking another dog. It's such a shame & I honestly feel very bad for that pitbull. I am hoping someone else steps in to save him somehow.
Did you think you had a chance at prevailing in this case, coming in there...? I did but.....it doesn't matter what you think, right- Yeayea no way, no way.....**continues his questioning** Douglas strikes again 😂😂😂
I was little and lived in Singapore for 5 years and the same thing happened to my miniature schnauzer we were walking her home from the shops and out of nowhere a pitbull comes out of his house and starts strangling my dog i was with my mom i was so frightened and scared i was screaming and crying thank goodness she was ok in the end because someone saved her from getting killed it could have been worse but pitbulls should not exist anywhere
In 1991, Singapore passed a law about Pit Bulls that requires sterilization, microchipping, insurance in the amount of not less than $100 000, and in public places a dog must be kept on a short leash and in a muzzle. I don't know when the attack on your dog occurred, but I hope your mom reported the attack and the owner was punished. The list of countries that have banned or restricted Pits is long. Most countries do not deny science/genetics like the US does.
I know that dog liability / responsibility varies by state, BUT I was a little surprised the judge didn't comment on the plaintiff's dog being OFF LEASH when it was on top of someone's car.
PRECISITION: Pitbull are NOT an aggressive race. It's a DANGEROUS race. They attack rarely, but when they attack they do a lot of damage. On the opposite there is Chihuahua. They are an aggressive race but not dangerous. They attack often but deal very low damage.
I happen to have a 40# bird dog that can jump a 6 foot privacy fence so it is possible for a dog to jump a 4 foot fence or even climb a fence if it a smaller dog.
Where do defendants like this get these ideas from? It's clear to most he's responsible. He admits it happened then tries to blame the victim. He shouldn't own pets or have kids (which I'm betting he does and he neglects as well).
Every last pit bull owner will swear up and down that they got the sweetest, most gentlest pit bull on the planet. And of course the popular, “It’s all in how they’re raised,” line. Yeah, ok. Enjoy your pit bull while I walk in the other direction.
most Pit Bulls could jump a 4 ft fence. Aggression is genetic. If you have an aggressive dog, he'll have that tendency forever.....training aggression out of an aggressive dog is like training red hair out of a person.
@@MusicTennis her daddy is a piston which is a pit bull Boston terrier mix and her mama was a black lab collie mix. Pandora looks like a forever puppy with dancers legs. Keeps all three boys in line. Even her 90 pound brother. (From the same litter 🤯 )
Of course your dog's gonna follow you 🙄 instead of leaving it on the car roof I would've asked the lady in the car that stopped to open her window just enough to pass the little dog thru at least then it would have been safe
The way the defendant basically laughed while she said her dogs head was in his dogs mouth disgust me. He shouldn't own any dogs with that attitude! Clearly not responsible enough to own a pit.
Absolutely. Hire trainer or if he's cheap he can simply do a search online and find specialists on Pit Bulls with free tutorials. I've seen them. Judges never offer this advice.
Anyone notice the sister sitting behind him in the front row? Looking like his twin? Letting him take all of the heat, she looks like a real piece of work.
The poor little doggie, was probably so terrified when the pitbull was attacking her. AND also the poor pitbull, it breaks my heart. He did what comes naturally to him. It's the POS Defendan't fault, for not securing the dogs in his yard. And now that pitbull is wondering where his people are, why he is where he is. UGH!!!!!
The only positive thing i can say about the defendant is at least he didn't come out of the courtroom and say he was STILL in the right. That poor lady being chased all over the street, though... and people ~ don't EVER leave your dog on top of a car... crikey!
I have experience w pitbulls and they are the sweetest when they know you, but if they don't, watch out! They naturally go into attack mode w small dogs. When my Yorkiepoo was a puppy, he was so small he could get out of the gate (fit btwn the bars). The pitbull boxer mix across the street tried to kill him everytime. He would literally jump the fence to try to get Bobby. We put up chicken wire to keep him in and the pitbull out. The same pitbull used to attack me everyday walking home from school. When he snapped at my leg and put a hole in my jeans, my Dad put the fear of God into the dog and owner 😂
Pitbulls have neurological problems you can give them the best training by the best dog trainers with all the best equipment, but a pit will still be a pit. I owned 2 German sheppards. I had 6 foot fences containing the dogs in the large back yard, all it took was one day my Sheppard chased a squirl and jumped the fence to get that squirl. We ended up putting 3 feet of concrete below the fence so they couldn't dig out and we put electric fencing on top of the fence to make sure they couldn't jump the fence or dig a hole under the fence because I want to make sure my dogs can't get out and get hurt by accident.
I'm a professional dog trainer. Pit bulls are not inherently aggressive. In fact, the most aggressive breed of dog is a chihuahua followed by the Dachshund. Pit pulls do however, need strong leadership and training (all dogs need training).
One damn stupid pit bull owner! And he didn't even come out of his house when there was all the yelling and screaming was going on. Other neighbors heard it and came out. Creep!
