I saw a video of the woman with the perfect answer that I tried, and it worked better than I expected when I had this problem. I took the big pepper shaker, which was closed, and took lots of action as I shook it over her dish as she was observing before I could present it to her a second time. The woman in the video took a bottle of oil and other similar items and pretended to put something in the dog food dish. My dog couldn't wait and flew to get to her dish before I could put it in its spot; the woman in the video and her dog couldn't wait to eat either. The illusion of sharing yours into the bowl proves more important than the same old kibble minus the extra attention to visual details that "can't be denied."
My dog stopped eating his food but has no trouble eating his treats. Food hasn't changed no other symptoms? He takes a mouthful when you put fresh down and then hes done. Got a brand new bag, same thing.
@@sonyajohnson8284Hi there. Did you ever figure out what was going on? My dog is 11 and stopped eating her kibbles. She will eat a few then drop the rest. Or won’t eat any at all. The vet says to wait and she will eventually eat. It’s been almost two days now I feel like she’s starving herself.
Struggle to get my Yorkie small dog to eat food and never out of a bowl, only from carpet. Have a small bit of an offcut to feed her on to save main carpet. Also when she is not really interested in food, a favourite toy elephant, I rub over the food and say the softie elephant is gobbling the food, which encourages my dog to eat the food. Grrrreat video, thanks
@@stevenhenry4227 Currently a bite to the wind , but cool & dry. Had some rain to soften the ground up a bit. No snow or anything fancy. Dog now wears a coat when out to keep her a bit warmer.
This is the same situation for my dog but instead he eats it from the floor. I tried using his favourite toy to make it pretend like its eating but he still won't eat from the bowl :(
Ever since we changed her food to another brand, she has been starving herself and only eat treats and drink water. She won't touch her food no matter what brand, she really loved her old food. (When i found a lil bit of her old food in a bag, she ate it all up and was literally screaming. The old food no longer exists in my country and the order from another country won't come) What do i do
Usually dogs can’t be switched to new foods too fast so that could be the problem. Try introducing the new food to the dog slowly with other foods the dog is comfortable with eating. Try getting a flavor similar to the old food if you didn’t already do that. But also make sure to check with a vet if the problem gets out of hand just to make sure this isn’t a medical problem. I’m sorry I can’t do more for you but I hope this helps you and your dog!!
Have tried all of that along with broth, home cooked toppings, of ground beef, ground bison, pot roast, salmon, sardines and mackerel and this lil joker still only eats every two or three days and never ever finishes a whole bowl. He turns his nose up at everything but perks up when I eat my food smh 🙄 Even changed kibbles over 6 times. Everything from Purina pro, Diamond and other comparable brands. Its really irking me at this point.
@@leeolie3728 like I don't know why these dogs can be so picky😭 we changed our dog food already and even made chicken broth, he still doesnt eat and only drinks the broth
doesn’t this exacerbate the problem as the dog will now always poker on getting some nice wet food with it because he knows he’ll get it and can safely refuse regular kibble
im 5 days after my dog not eating. Buttery chicken just cooked worked and then that didn't either. Fresh cooked roast supermarket chicken nope. Nothing. Then I remembered. Oh yeah. I know something they just can't refuse. CAT FOOD. Bought a small jelly cat food. He ate it like in a second. YEAH BABY. Cat food. its irresistible to them
I went to yt last month and searched for several videos like this one because i didn't know what to do to make my dog eat. She was very lazy to eat and picky. Then last last week i petted my dog and figured out she was almost skin and bones after not eating for almost 5 days. So I tried making some mediumto feed her and until I dicovered force feeding, with syringe. Small dogs like fine food, they are lazy to chew so syringe was the best way. And good news, it worked, my dog eats very well now with syringe and even eats foods that she didn't liked before.
My dog who has always been extremely food motivated and couldn’t inhale his food fast enough or enough of it no matter what brand it is has suddenly started refusing to eat for as long as 3 days in a row. Until I guess he’s decided he’s hungry enough. I got a puppy and recently the puppy has reached full maturity. I’ve also been going through bit of a depression. Idk what his issue is. I know he’s not sick as he’s still eager to play and I know it’s not his teeth. Idk why he’s started being so stubborn in this way. It’s really making my depression worse. I refuse to coddle him when he doesn’t eat as I know if I do he’ll continue to do it. I also refuse to add water or chicken broth to it as im not going to risk him still refusing to eat it and then giving the food new potential to spoil now. I’m on a fixed income. I can’t waste any food. It’s literally driving me insane. All I can do is lock him in a room with his food until he decides to eat. Idc if it means isolating him 3 days in a row. He ain’t more stubborn than me. As long as I know it’s not health related I’m going to break him of this terrible habit. Stresses me out all the more. Some best friend. Can’t you see how upset this makes me. Just eat ur food! He goes on a nice long walk at least once a week and it let outside frequently. He’s a lazy breed of dog. I used to always feed him first and then my puppy. Then he’s began waiting until my new dog started eating before he himself would eat. Now he’s refusing to eat at all. The new dog is barely a third of his size and doesn’t appear to display any dominance over him.
@@SillySongs4Everyone2001 Kept him isolated with his food for a few hours. I would only let him out when it was long past breakfast and starting to creep into evening mealtime. I’d take his breakfast away and he’d finally have his freedom again for a few more hours until it was dinner time then I’d isolate him again with his dinner until it was bedtime. If he didn’t eat dinner by then I’d take it away and try the process all over again the next morning. Each meal I gave him just slightly less than I normally did in hopes that would cause him to be hungry enough for the next meal. Usually took 3 days then he’d eat maybe his breakfast or his dinner and then that one meal would hold him over for another 3 days of stubbornness. He soon learned not eating meant a “timeout” and no treats. When he did eat I gave him some light praise and pets. Took almost 2 months but I think what really helped was that I began taking him for daily walks out of desperation. Even if it was only for 10 minutes. He still got his weekly hike but I think the short walks helped the most. I had to accept also that as dogs get older they eat less. But he’s eating almost as well as he was before. No more stubbornness just slightly less at a time now. I feed him a mixture of my favorite cheap brand which is purina and I use that to stretch out his luxury dog food which is natures recipe. He loves this mixture so I also know it wasn’t like a nutritional or brand food issue.
it could be that he senses your stress and worries himself! This is just a wild guess but my dogs are very protective and very very affectionate to my family and each other! If they realize something is wrong, they freak out trying to comfort you! My oldest got over the fence and tussled with the neighbors German Shepherd and the other dog was going insane because he couldn’t reach to help him! When I finally got them broke up and calm and brought him home, the other dog would not leave his side until the wounds healed! If I tried feeding the other dog, he would just scoot his bowl to his brother! Now he won’t let him even go near the fence! I think dogs are entirely smarter than we give them credit for so I definitely feel it may be emotional sometimes!
Its so funny that we talk about "dogs not wanting to eat their food" lol. I mean mine is also doing it and I find it so stupid, they are little spoiled kiddos isnt it? In the nature they would be looking for crumbles.
For the past 2-3 weeks, my 2-year-old collie has been refusing most of her meals--even lean steak and chicken. She's on quality food--Blue Buffalo. I also cook meals for my dogs. I took her to the vet. He ran some tests but kind of blew it off, saying it's probably due to her hormones as a few weeks ago, she was in heat. So I'm waiting to find out the lab results. The same thing happened with my St. Bernard when she was about two. He downplayed her lack of an appetite as well, saying it was from the summer heat. A week later, she vomited a whole kitchen sponge--the type with the scouring pad on one side. It had apparently been in her stomach for a while. So I'm worried that maybe my collie swallowed something. He didn't x-ray her, and I wish he had.
My 12 yr old dog begs all day for treats. He won't eat unless he gets a treat first then he begs for treat again after he eat a little. He just started this maybe 3 months ago. What do you suggest I do?
Lately my dog been having problems with having food. He just don't wanna eat but always wants to go out. Before he used to have food before I take him out for a walk but now he just want to stay out and don't wanna have food. He eats food way past his time now. I took him to the vet but they didn't say anything concerning abt it. Should I be worried?
It’s been a few months, could you share some updates please 😊 going through the same thing with my 1.5-year old poodle and it’s so frustrating. He used to beg for food all the time, even when he’s just eaten, but now he goes through 1 whole day without food. We fed him high quality fresh food, rotate protein. I can’t figure out why but it started to worry me a lot :(
Hey guys actually in my case I think I was over feeding my dog.. mornings I don’t be at home so my mom takes care of him, she said she used to feed him egg every mornings which I was not aware off, i stoped giving him food in the morning for a day then he himself got back to the habit of having food on time. I hope it helps you guys aswell😊
Personally, we don’t have enough money for mixed diets when it comes to the dogs and I feel so bad about it, I mean that stuff can’t taste that good! I’ve thought about adding food around the house to Mixe in but I’m not sure if dogs can eat it. It’s only one of my dogs that has a problem with the feed and I have no clue what to do about it! I’m not sure if it’s the bowls (the dog will eat it out my hand in small doses)or what but I really need help with this it’s tearing my apart from the inside out
Hello 👋 Goody day FURENTS, I need help 🥺 My 2 months pup suddenly stops eating 🥺. Last night he finished his food and drink his water, but today he suddenly stops eating and its been 16 hours since his last meal 🥺 but he's still playful and active and we usually put him in a cage because he's not yet fully vaccinated 🥺. Is this normal or should I bring bring him to the vet?
So I gave him the food portion on the back of the package, but he still refuses to eat it, my vet told me if the doesn’t eat his dry food have him miss a meal, I have changed his dry food 3 times one being good & second one being £50 a bag & the third same as the first but different brand & flavor.
@@SillySongs4Everyone2001 does can go a few days till he’s hungry, I give my dog dry & wet, dry food I leave out for him, if he doesn’t eat the dry he doesn’t get the wet food.
my dog love his food for two month. One morning he wake up and decide not to eat it anymore. I had to put some dry beef liver on top, just two piece and he would finish his bowl of same kibble again.
My senior dog eats like a squirrel when there is no other dog around, she used to live with my grandma with another dog and she ate fine there, but we took her with us when we moved out of her house, it was even getting to the point where i can feel her ribs, her other dog started living with us after grandma got her own apartment because of her age, she cant take her out to use the bathroom, but im still worried about my senior dog
My kibble I give to my dog is good and has helped her stool, but she doesn’t wanna eat out of a bowl and sometimes will eat off the floor or out of her toy basket or hand fed or mix/don’t mix with wet food. I just don’t know why my damn dog is so picky with where, how and what she eats. I can’t get any answers. I feed my dog a mix of wet, kibble and raw and she isn’t satisfied and the vet said she is healthy. Idk what to do and no one can help. She isn’t losing or gaining weight either. Why is this so hard. 😤 if anyone has answers please help me out.
My dog is not eating anything except water since 2 days before that she was eating nicely,,,plzzz help me what had happened to her since here is no any good vetenerian available here🥺🥺
@@decreed9505 Our dogs enjoy a mix of rice, lentils, potatoes, broccoli, coliflor, ground flaxseed, but their favorite foods are coconuts, rambutans, mangos, papayas, etc. 🙂

My pug wont eat i bought same brand same flavor but only different it says small breed i bought that one cause there werent anymore of the ones i buy her idk if this the reason there werent any i think pple here in my town still panicking and grab more than just one am i the only considerate i went to all walmarts and pets mart here in my town dont see any of the bags i buy her. I don't know what to do my dogs (both of them) don't want to eat any dog food, I have tried wet food, dry food, mixed wet with dry food, I've tried expensive foods, cheap foods, every food, they will ONLy eat home cooked food, I can't do it every day! I don't know what to do, they will eat treats but not any dog food!
My 4 month old puppy stop eating her kibble.i tried rice with yogurt but still not eating...some gas sounds coming from her stomach. I know she is starving...but what to do
My 9 month old perfect eating with perfect poop dog stopped eating his food 3 days ago. 😭. I’m trying to be calm but Its getting too me. His coat doesn’t look nice and I’m afraid he’s going to be skinny and look malnourished. Everybody in the neighborhood likes my dog they will be surprised.
Hey, I’ve got a problem with my two dogs. One dog, Otto, is dominant over the other called Bert. Otto controls when or what Bert eats. We have tried feeding them in separate rooms, Bert just runs away from the food whenever you try and place it near him. I’ve even tried feeding him by a fork (which has worked in the past when we had this problem before) and he still does not eat it. I am not sure what to do, Bert is healthy but is getting skinnier recently, as this has been happening for around the past 2/3 weeks. He only eats some scraps of human food and treats we give him sometimes. We do not know how to break this natural hierarchy as our two dogs are brothers which stops him from eating. I really hope someone responds because I am really not sure what to do.
I would suggest neutering Otto or show Otto who is the real boss of the family! It’s natural for dogs to establish a pecking order but it sounds like Otto is a bit of a bully!
Can someone help my dog didn’t even eat when she was a puppy I got her when she was 8 weeks old and didn’t eat much even in the start. But then when I added like some meat or smt else “good” in her food she did but apparently she got bored of it and didn’t eat any more. She always ate little bit and sometimes nothing she is very skinny and I give her bones and treat if she eats well. And now she is 11 months old and I have chanced her food like 5 times and nothing, but when I add meat agen she eats. Idk what to do should I take her to the vet but when I give her something else what she likes she eats it’s really confusing bc she is my frist dog and I dint give her too much food that’s for sure
You lack consistency. Sounds like you spoil your dog. Your dog will not starve itself just because it does not get a tasty meal. Hunger is the best chef and once your dog knows who is in charge, it will eat what you give.
I am having the exact same problem with my 8 month old. Eats very very litle and almost by force. Its weird that he still poops a lot though and runs everyday when I take him to the park. Probably going to take him to the vet tomorrow
If you want to know why your dog really won't eat their dog food it is because it makes them feel bad and physically ill. It is a proven fact that euthanized dogs/cats/and other farm animals are used in pet food. When these animals are put to sleep with penobarbital and then the animals are sent to dog food plants/rendering facilities they are ground up into dog food. When our healthy dogs are consuming this dog food that contain euthanized pets with penobarbital drug in their system, it is making our healthy dogs become sick/ill. That is the real reason your dog doesn't want to eat dog food! If u question anything I just said, please feel free to look it up and research for yourself...what you will find is disturbing.
