I’m around 125-127 pounds right now and am really struggling with my depression and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder. Every night I lay in bed starving to death and wonder how long I can keep living like this, there are some moments when I want to get better but there are also moments where I honestly just feel hopeless and don’t care. I had an eating disorder as a young teen too. It was all about me having something to control. I'd forgotten about many of the specifics until I heard you talking about them, and there are a lot of similarities. Thanks for reminding me about it. I'd almost forgotten about it. It's a great way for me to be sensitive to other people. They may not be dealing with an eating disorder, but we all struggle with something, and being supportive to one another is often the most beneficial. I'm so glad and proud of you for sharing this with us, Nick. Wishing my very best to you, Sincerely, Jeff

My respect for you Nick just skyrocketed! I can relate so much with your message. After being 245 pounds and unhappy with the way I saw myself I lost right at 95 pounds by pretty much starving myself and doing a shit of cardio. A very unhealthy way to do so. Along the way I have developed this “relationship” with food that has impacted my life negatively in many ways. I have pushed away many friends and family members that care for me and that want to spend time with me but I have been, and still am, far too concerned with my physical outward appearance. I have allowed that to control my life and it has prevented me from experiencing all the great things that this life has to offer. I believe being healthy both physically and as well as mentally is crucial in order to live a fulfilled life and finding that balance is what we all ultimately strive to do. I just wanted to personally say thank you for your message and I know there are many others who can relate. Never give up and always strive to GO ONE MORE.💯

Nick you just opened my eyes, I used to always feel accomplished when I went to be being super hungry. I just thought that was weight loss. I never realized until watching this video what I did to myself. At 12 I ate about 1100 calories a day and lost about 23lb in a month and a half. My relationship with food isn’t perfect but it is improving. I’m 14 and about 5’6 165 eating 1800-2000 calories a day. I feel much better and my training is much better. I don’t really care if I gain some fat while I’m in puberty, I eat healthy but I’d rather have a little bit of fat than have an ed. I can always cut calories slightly once I finish puberty. Thank you so much for opening my eyes and I give the kid the best of luck on his journey to recovery🙏.

You are in an important stage of your development, eating disorders can have serious long-term physical and mental consequences, seriously. If possible (and what is more mentally healthy) do not count your calories. As long as you get protein in your meals throughout the day, you will progress properly in your training. But try to be flexible, don't strain, and be kind to your body and mind.

It really destroys so many aspects of your life (friends, family, immune system, education). Thanks for sharing this. You are a role model for men everywhere, and EDs in men need to be destigmatized. It is much easier as a woman to have these issues recognized, understood, and treated. There is so much shame around it to begin with, I can't imagine trying to come to terms with disordered eating which has historically been attributed to a "women's disease." Thanks for using your platform to help young men everywhere. I watched my brother struggle just as I had and was too afraid to speak up for him for fear of outing myself... he and I both were fortunate enough to find our way out through fitness and sport, but some won't stumble on this solution and may need to hear they are not alone. To this day I have not spoken to him about this, and if he is anything like me, those thoughts still linger and likely always will. Perhaps it's time to out us both. This may not end up being your most popular video, but it will likely be one of your most impactful. Keep up the great work Nick

Thanks for sharing this story! I can relate to everything you said even touching my hip bone to see if I’m loosing weight. I really hope one day I get to see food differently and not restrict myself all the time. Great content, love your dedication!!!!
