Oh this one took some time! Pulled every Knipex tool I own from every single tool bag I use and put them all into one video for you guys! So I've noticed that your pipe gripping pliers with the rubber Jaws they're actually soft Jaws maybe conepex calls them something else such as pipe gripping but that style of pliers with the rubber instead of teeth is for gripping soft materials that such as brass round stock or something that you don't want to Mar or damage

I try to talk myself out of buying Knipex tools that I already have in a different size or handle type. I usually can convince myself that I don't actually "need" it, so I get it "just in case". I'm running out of Knipex tools to get that I would use as an electrician. Anyone have a reason a commercial/residential electrician might need a Steel Cable Cutter? Me neither really, but I should probably have them because who knows what I might run into. Before I know it, I will be telling myself I need Knipex tweezers just in case I get a splinter. How else would I possibly get it out? pffff......😁 Just imagine the mini Cobras in a comfort grip. Knipex is probably keeping that version for a special occasion

I grew up on a farm, we always had an ample supply of cheap tools that we could afford to lose or break. When I moved out on my own without much money, I was always picking up the cheap stuff just to get me buy. I'm just a home gamer/DIY'er...but now that I'm settled in life with disposable income...I'm slowly going through replacing my cheap old stuff and adding high quality tools whenever I can. I've only got about 8 tools in my Knipex collection so far (along with some very nice Wera screwdrivers and Joker wrenches)...but I will definitely be adding more over the coming years.

Impressive collection you have there, appreciate the overview. I've been using Knipex tools for years in my work in landscape management here in the Netherlands. Especially in fencing work, so the spring-loaded Cobolt is one of my favorite tools in the kit. It goes through barbed wire or any steel wire so much easier than any other cutter.

I love it man! After 12 plus years in hvac I’ve decided to start having more than one bag. I have been very faithful to my tech pac back pack but man I just have too much in it and it’s so heavy. After watching your review on the OT-LC, I bought one and that’s going to be my install bag. So now I’m needing another set of tools. I’m on the fence on pulling the trigger on knipex.

I love watching your videos. You actually commented on the handle sized later in the video. I think you love tools even more than me lol. I do the same thing with my tools, my wife actually asked me today when some tools came “is that the same Klein screwdriver you already have” lol I told her it wasn’t but It was…it’s the 3rd one I’ve bought. When you like something and use it lots you want one in every bag. It’s funny, some advice I got years ago from an older tech was “if you have to borrow a tool once, you need to buy it” I think maybe you grew up with that same mentality, cause if I have to borrow a tool from another bag…..you better believe I won’t be doing that again, starlight to the store. Lol keep posting man! I love your content.

Just started getting into Knipex pliers and I love them so far. I have the 38-95-200 Mechanics Pliers, and got the 87-41-250 Raptor Pliers yesterday. I’ve ordered the 87-01-250 Cobra Water Pump Pliers, but they haven’t came in yet. Thanks for the video!!

I’d say there has to be at least 35 pairs or pliers and around 10 more of their unique tools. Just started buying Knipex last year when I started my electrical apprenticeship and so far I have Cobras in sizes 100, 125, 180, 250, 300, Pliers Wrenches in sizes 180, 250, 300, TwinGrip, forged wire stripper, CoBolt size 180, extra long nose 45 degree angled nose pliers. Love their tools, will be adding many more in the years to come.

The main purpose for the ergostrip is that in Germany all the house wiring is actually round (NYM) and the walls often brick.. so it’s in order to really get into the “can” that sits in the wall and strip the sheath flush on the entry.. absolutely genius. Of course also good for any other smaller round cable situation

I love the look and feel of the comfort grip and they’re only a couple dollars more, but I’ve found I’ve had to buy more regular grips to fit them all in the veto pockets

Oh, WOW. This is great. I thought I had accumulated KNIPEX tools over the years, but this is amazing. I'm not even close! Of course, I want every single piece, every size, every KNIPEX gadget on the planet that are probably unnecessary, but satisfying. I've now started to collect the mini-5" pieces, as well as the knives and scissors that I actually do use quite often. KNIPEX & WERA are perfect hand tools.

Those 160mm step-cut shears are very capable of cutting. No doubt. I thought, when I bought mine, that I would never touch my regular 160's again. I was wrong. I use my 160's for stripping as well as cutting, and the step-cuts need to be opened significantly more to be able to get around the wire because of the shape of the jaws. The regular 160's are more useful for what I use them for. When I have an ugly cable to cut, like maybe a #2/0 copper T-90, I reach for the step-cut to shear it, then I strip it with the regular 160's.

Hey Millis - great video - I especially like your relaxed friendly style- transfering tools love into the world! My guess is your Knipex compilation adds to say 80 pieces? Nevertheless I know you're not into electronics repair but if you did you would also worthship the especially small ESD cutters for adding new resistors etc. to electronics PCBs. Knipex holds several patents for those tiny cutters. And if you use them often you'll find out the Knipex brand ESD cutters are the only ones that do their job forever without damage to the normally fragile cutting ends as long as you use them as intended. Perhaps some of your audience are interested in these - and you could explain to then the specialties of the Knipex ESD cutters. All the best to you, Millis - greetings from Joern, Hanover - Germany

I almost got the pipe wrench and got the 22" cobra pliers for that use instead, but now I'm unsure whether I made the right decision after hearing your opinion on the pipe wrench! Now I need to get them just to compare which I like more for pipework lol

I have a few comfort grips, only 1 texture grip and 1 smooth grip. I wish I got more smooth or texture grips. I have small hands so the comfort grips are kinda bulky especially when the pliers aren't adjusted perfectly.

You must have 75 Knipex tools. I love every Knipex tools that I have 4 different sizes of cobra’s the small wire cutters. They are so surprising of how big of wire that they cut. I have the 10” bolt cutters, 5” electronic side cuts, 2 pairs of scissors. The pipe cuter for like you said for under the sink. The new wire strippers/ linesman pliers. Cabinet key and a few other Knipex tools that I probably forgot about. I also bought the Wera tool tote and using it for 2 meters now. I just order a Veto MB3B meter bag & black out build your own back pack. Veto had there spring special and can not weight to also get the 2 free bags that come with their promotion. I also bought Wera To Go Bag system and I am like it as well and from watching your videos you can really add on to it as well. I also have Knipex parts bags as well as Veto parts bags. Keep up the good work & I always like your videos I text you a little while back and you respond back as well as showed me a picture of how I could use the Were to go Quiver and I appreciate your response.

check the twin force,in my opinion best compact side cutters; my favorite 73 71 180, but they have also comfort grip 73 72 180 how easily they cut through very hard things is just amazing!

Nice collection the 1000V set was my first too.. The only one I think you're shorting yourself by not having is their cable strippers with the screw setting. Theure one of those tools that you won't ise often but when you're dealing with words that have been cut too short. They'll strip the cable inside of the box.

Hi I’m looking at getting these long nose pliers that are bent . But I saw two part numbers listed on Amazon and I’ve seen this before and can’t tell the differences when knipex tools end with SB ? So what is the differences between 28-81-280 vs 28-81-280 SB?????

Looks just like my Knipex stack.....very expensive....not a single regret. ....Except that I would have bought comfort grip versions from the start. Some were just not available at the time tho. I keep my dipped handles in my car kit cuz they take up less space. Comfort grip is worth it to me.

Love your videos! Have quite a few Knipex tools, all with comfort grips. Just got recently a mini (micro) CoBolt 71 01 160, which exists with dipped handles only. I so very recommend you to get one for yourself. Cutting copper wires with it is a pure pleasure. However, while having dipped handles, this CoBolt feels extremely comfortable in the hand. And, that make me questioning my previous choices with comfort grips. While in theory they seems to just obviously be more "comfortable" but in reality that dipped one actually feels so grippy and controllable. May I ask about your thoughts, so, finally, comfort ones or dipped? :-D

Serious question… I also have a lot of tools in my truck and in my dewalt 2.0 boxes that are in my truck bed. Do you have any extra insurance for your items or documented somehow in case something happens?

I don’t right now. I have motion security cameras all over though. My truck parks in my back yard under one too. Trailers have security systems with gps tracking. Shop has cameras inside and out all motion activated also. So far I’ve had nothing suspicious but it does feel good to have the alerts come in on my phone when even a cat walks by the truck or shop 😅 Insurance would be nice though and I probably should have it.

What bag do you recommend as a first bag Wera or Veto? I do mostly residential and commercial maintenance and am looking for a convenient way to store and move my tools.

The Wera really shines if you’re already somewhat into Wera tools with the Velcro since they stick to it all over. Definitely watch for the Wera bags to go on discount on Amazon or KC tool as they do regularly and it can be a big amount off. The veto bags are just great for everything, right now if I wanted a light well organized (no duplicate tools) bag I’d go with the TP-LC and if I didn’t mind heavy , wanted to bring everything I needed, and needed a couple meters I’d definitely consider the TP-XXL. The good news is their spring promo is going right now for veto so if you purchased the Tp-xxl right now you’d receive the TP-LC for free 😁 That’s probably what I would do personally.

Ive bought about 12 different Knipex pliers and wire cutter over the past 5 years. Knipex makes awesome pliers but anything that has a cutting edge on them are the worst cutters I've ever used. The only thing they have going for them is I've never broke one. But the force to cut is way more than wire cutter I've ever used. If you don't do repetitious cutting the difference may not be noticable to most or if you've never used a good side cutter before, but it causes fatigue by the end of the day. One except I have is the Knipex 70-125 I carry in my pocket every day. For the size and ability to cut security tags. These are awesome because the cutting edge doesn't show any sines of degrading after 3 years of daily use (cut somewhere around 1500 tags a year based on tag orders.So around 4,500 cuts just through spring steel) and they still cut and strip wire like when I first got them.

@@MillisConstruction Ive pretty much have ditched all my klien tools since the switch to "made in USA". Ever since then I'm sad to say their tool quality has gone drastically down hill. But for side cutters I keep going back to the klien J2000-48. This last week Ive been trying out the Tsunoda PW-332 and CA-22. I've only cut 8awg and 20awg so far and they cut like butter. I just haven't brought my self to cut any farming nails with them yet like I do with klien and Knipex side cutters. I have a pair of larger Fujiya side cutters on order to try on nails After using the made in Japan Vessel insulated screws. It's got me wanting to try more made in Japan tool. But it's taking a lot of time researching Japan tools to verify they are made in Japan. One nice thing I find interesting about companys that manufacturer tools in Japan most of them in their spec sheets is the list the HRC of both the tool body HRC and the cutting edge HRC.

If your interested I have an update on the Tsunoda cutters. Right after I posted comment I ordered a pair of Tsunoda PW-332DG. Which are identical to the PW-332 I had been using with the exception they have comfort grips. So I have now tested the PW332DG on eight penny nails. They cut with about the same amount of effort as using a pair of knipex 71-21-200 semi flush mini bolt cutters. When comparing Tsunoda PW-332DG which is only 160 mm in length to a brand new pair of Knipex 74-22-200 which is of course 200 mm and comparing the effect it takes to cut an 8D nail. The Knipex side cutters Im sorry to say are trash compared to Tsunoda.

I will very likely get some good opportunities to do that over the next few months, Knipex has asked me to be a brand ambassador for 2022-2023 so Ill be doing a lot more with their tools now for sure! I have a few pairs of Irwin pliers, the Milwaukees are a bit more difficult for me as the closest dealer is about 100 miles away. I’ll see what I can do! Id also love to hear what kind of test you’d like to see between them? I like to do the tests people actually want to see and not just what everyone else does 😁

I have knives and would like to see your thoughts on using an Irwin or dewalt that have the same design. They cost much less. Knives seems thinner but just as strong, not sure if I should add them to my bag.

Man I didn’t have near as many as Millis construction has but I had about 18-20 Knipex tools, until they all got stolen last week. It sucks as a apprentice getting your tools stolen because I can’t just go out and re buy all that stuff right away. Enjoy this content though. Love Knipex tools.

I use Ballistol wipes, a lot of them 🤣. There’s actually 2-3 of the individually packaged ones in all my veto bags so when they come out of a nasty job I clean them before putting them back in the bags. Makes a huge difference. There’s about 10-12 in this video that are brand new too.
