My epic 35hr Journey From Indycar to the Spanish GP

Join me as I make my way from Miami, following the first ever Miami grand prix, to Indianapolis via Atlanta, for my first experience shooting an Indycar GP. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to shoot the Indy 500 though but I still had a great time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Following my short stint at the Indy GMR Grand Prix, I made my way to Dallas for an 9 hr layover, before boarding my amazing Turkish Airlines business class flight to Istanbul. During my 9 hours in Dallas, I spent some time in the Capital One Business lounge. It is one of the best lounges I’ve encountered on my F1 travels.
After landing in Istanbul, I enjoyed some time in the lavish Turkish Airlines lounge while awaiting my final flight from Istanbul to Barcelona. Why did I take such a lengthy route? Watch the video to find out!

Always enjoy these "travel segments" Kym!, great to get your bloody honest & insightful overviews of the various hotels, lounges & airlines you fly. And yep, must agree, having lived in the US now for 21yrs, the food on domestic flights is shite :(

I really admire people who can put up with that many hours of flights, cars, security lines, and hotels. I find travel to be incredibly stressful and long flights make me a bit of a basket case.

Funny to hear your observations of USA travel…sadly every since People Express replaced Pan Am as the way to travel after airline deregulation…USA air travel is mostly just motor coaches in the sky…Turkish air looks nice as not traveled them before 👍👍

I stayed in Aventura and it was great. Domestic carrier lounge access is… hit or miss. Alaska & American have day passes available. Delta does not. ATL airport is a hellhole most of the time, even if restaurants are open.

Welcome to the USA where everything closes early and has terrible service because of understaffing. All the people who used to work at these jobs got so much FREE money from the stupid government during Covid they are still living off it and haven’t returned to work. This is also contributing to our wonderful 7%+ inflation! Love your videos and pictures Kym. Sorry to let you down on your visit to my country.

Kym, you poor Sod. You flew to Atlanta. NEVER fly to Atlanta if you can avoid it. File as a lessons learned if there is a next time. Atlanta Hartsfield equals DELAY and INCOMPETENCE. A huge airport and a waste of space. It could be worse. You could've flown the former Spirit Airlines. They make you flap your arms to help land. Service charge extra for no arm flapping.

I don't know, all these "lounges" look very depressing and so does 90% of the food shown in this video. Of course, even in business class, there's a limit to what you can expect of life aboard airplanes and airports but it certainly doesn't want to make me book flights for the fun of it.

Hello, Kym: Don't know how I've managed to only recently have your videos pop up in the algorithm but very glad that they have. Was very interested to see your (brief) take on Indy, my hometown of fifty odd years. My F1 fandom began in earnest with James Hunt and of course have followed Indy car as long as I can remember (same grandstand seats for the 500 since 1978). Loving the cross-pollination between the series that continues to present day. Also, skip the ATL connection next time (too much chance of weather delays) - we can usually find a direct flight from IND to MIA, FLL or PBI when heading down to visit my daughter. Cheers!

Another great travel story, Kym. Unfortunately, you had to travel on Delta, which in my opinion is the worst US airline, and flying through one of the worst airports in the US, ATL. At least you had a good time in Indy and what looks to be a great experience on Turkish Airlines. Barcelona looks to be a great race!

Crazy 😜 I can’t imagine living such a crazy on the Road 24/7 life. I’ve been on 6 planes ✈️ in my entire life. Adelaide to Sydney - Sydney to L.A LA to Hawaii then Hawaii to Sydney & Sydney to Adelaide again! My first & only time out of Australia 🇦🇺 & I knocked myself out with sleeping tablets for the big trips! Could not live out of one suitcase for the better part of a year I commend you. I needed 1 just for shoes for just 3 weeks (a big 1) It’s fun watching you though, I’m travelling through your vids! Keep it up, love ya work!

Next F1 race, stay at 1 Hotel or Setai just a mile north of South Beach. Even Lowe's is a good place to stay. You have a rental car anyways.

I've been on long international flights and flown all over the U.S. I fly cattle class cause I can't afford all the things in this video that look absolutely luxurious and I would enjoy every second of it. What a complainer.
