Kym you really are the media boss of F1, how you produce so much top content so quickly is mighty impressive, outstanding work as always👍😀 Lewis’s pink outfit really was “out there” 🤣, haven’t seen Greg Norman for ages, top bloke, is looking good for his age dare I say😀. F1 all about the money, I didn’t realise this, lol.😂.
@Kym Illman If you get the chance in Indy, see if you can snag a spot at St. Elmo Steak House in downtown, if only for their psychotically spicy shrimp cocktail.
The content you give is gold. Walking 48 kilometers and producing a video with all that information and impressive content must be hard and yet you do it with so much passion. Hats off !
Die-hard fans really got to relax. Yes, Drive to Survive brought in a more casual audience but that's great for the sport. Let's not start all the "Fake fans" nonsense. Leave the competition to the drivers and lets all enjoy the race together. Regardless of how much experience you may have with it.
I’m a die hard fan and I totally agree…the more casual fans the better, every sport has them and they are critical for touching more people who could become serious fans with the contact and awareness brought to them by the casual fan, who won’t even know they’re doing it. Once introduced, the love takes off from there. I was introduced to F1 by a casual fan also. All I needed was the introduction.
I agree with you on F1, money and celebrities. I wonder why people keep complaining about F1 being "all about money". Teams invest alot in the cars and drivers among other expenses. Sponsors invest their money to be seen. F1 is a show of technology backed by money.
Every driver on that grid comes from a position of privilege also. People hate on the so called 'pay' drivers acting like every other driver isnt some kid who grew up karting which alone costs more money than every other weekend sport combined.
@@stevel9627 people don't hate on pay drivers; they hate on those pay drivers who don't contribute anything apart from high crash costs. Sergio Perez was/is a pay driver who does his work and nobody Hates him.
@@annexismuriu many people don’t even know Perez is a pay driver unfortunately though so they do hate on them blindly as it’s the cool thing to do especially last year when Mazipin was the poster boy of pay drivers.
@@stevel9627 they don't know he's a pay driver because when a driver is performing that doesn't matter. If he wasn't performing people would know he's a pay driver.
This is why I love your videos! Unfortunately, there is a lot of toxic people talking trash about this circuit but you come to them with positivity. Absolutely love your attitude. Everyone has the right to enjoy being at the event, regardless of who they are and what they know. Motorsport is for everyone. I would have loved to been in Miami, but I was finishing my university coursework and couldn't make it. I am excited for Vegas next year! I hope they have a California race one day. I do enjoy the IndyCar race in Long Beach, California. No matter what, you make the experience a positive one, even when you are tired or if a waitress is rude to you. You always find a way to have a positive experience. I miss traveling and love seeing your videos. I appreciate all the hard work you do to give us this quality content.
Kym!! i had seen you from a distance!! I'm glad my city and hometown treated you great! and that you enjoyed the Miami GP. Thank you for your hard work and content! always looking forward to the next video!
Thank you for speaking out against these so called “hardcore” fans. I’m an American fan who’s been passionately into the sport for a few years now but I’ve been very turned off lately by the amount of elitism and hate keeping amongst these other fans. Casual fans are just as important and valid in any sport as hardcore fans, or for any form of entertainment. Seeing other adults literally throwing a hissy fit online by the presence of athletes and celebrities was far cringier than anything that happened at the GP.
@Steelflex Yeah, it also happens in football (soccer), I watch a Manchester United fan channel for fun because I like the other content by the presenter. He fairly often complains about fans that state that "Your only a fan of (football club) if you are a match going fan.
The ironic part is theyre at all the big races for YEARS. Miami has a lot of famous people there, its gonna happen. Whining about it is just pathetic and a waste of time on earth
Thank you brother. I always enjoy your content. I am a Dutch, Sir Lewis Hamilton fan haha. Keep up your work please! P.S. i also hate te social media hate.
As a longtime American F1 fan, I felt the weekend was a bit over the top and cringy. Good work by you as always, maybe I’ll see you at Indy. I’ll be there.
Kym I am SO Excited that you are getting introduced to Indycar!!! Can't wait to see your reaction to it! It is the closest form of pure racing at a professional level in my opinion
@Kym Illman - He plays in the NFL. Played for my Hometown Houston Texans for many years and is a role model for all the youth. He now plays for another team but everyone in the Houston area truly loves JJ. Not your topical NFL Douche 💼 P.S- love everything you do Kym! Puts a smile on my face to see a Kym Illman Upload!!
Friend of mine is usually a media photographer at Indianapolis during May. I'll have to see if he's doing the GP or not this year - he'll be happy to give you pointers on shooting there!
I think people are complaining about the celebrities because they had access that most F1 fans would die to have, and the one who gets it for the most part couldn't give two hoots about the championship battle. Some celebs I don't mind, especially if they're a bona fide F1 fan like Michael Douglas. But others, like those rapper dude, I couldn't care less of their presence.
seriously, i was disgusted by the shade "f1 fans" were writing all over every post about the Miami race. Every race is different, or else why do we need to go around the world to different scenes and cultures? If you're upset that there are a lot of celebrities there, well they are celebrities with huge following and THEY want to learn and see more formula 1. That's a good thing.
It has been proven, that many of the celebrities actually leave the circuit, after they have had their "exposure". Most are not interested in learning more about F1. However I must say that; If I were invited to a fun weekend away with a party atmosphere, I would be going also, even if I wasn't really interested in the sporting action.
@@adeyf7842 or it is the other way around. PR groups, sponsors and organizers ask if these celebrities can come, and they did, and they left. The celebrities aren’t there to “get their exposure”, but the other way around. That being said, plenty of celebs stayed behind.
@@DonLee1980 Indeed, you are probably correct. I should not have used the word "Celebrities" I was really referring to the "influencers". I do agree with you regarding the negative comments about some of the attendees. I am a regular at the Singapore and Silverstone GPs. I love F1 but the main reason for me to go to the Singapore race, is the great off track entertainment. The last time I was there I had grandstand seats, but watched most of the race on a big screen from the bar!
What a great lifestyle you lead, as a fellow Australian, I'm jealous, but in a good way. So kudos to you. My favourite parts of your channel is always the Watches and Fashion of GP. Keep it up. Kind regards Rikki
I get more enjoyment watching your content weekly over Netflix’s Drive to Survive. Well done!! and TBH, i have no encouragement to watch episodes from last season since it’s in the past, history. Loving this season so far, keep it up!! Cheers!!
And of course today it’s 80° and very little humidity as a cold front came in. If only they could bump it up three weeks in the calendar and everybody would enjoy it so much more
Totally agree with about your words on people's sentiment about this event. So many F1 fans have this superiority complex and always gatekeep. I'll admit the build up to the event was over the top and a bit cringe. It was more of an event than a race. But I'd rather see the sport become more mainstream than it slowly dying due to lack of interest.
Great stuff Kym and team. Kym, I see you doing a 'Lewis' in T-Shirt changes throughout the video, very entertaining :-). What a weekend, it was pure 'Miami'. Every F1 presenter, analyst and pundit raved about how great the Miami Grand Prix was. You and your team are acing this. #Cork, Ireland.
I was in the paddock for my birthday! and i was with Jean Michel, for the most part, and with steve neilson for a little bit. I would love to meet you in person at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix!
Hey Kim I am in the UK and the Watt Brothers TJ and JJ are known here.. their are some fans of NFL Football in the UK too! My Profile Pic is from 2013 when I met Ben Rothlisberger who played on the Pittsburgh Steelers team that Ben was quarterback for.
Absolutely love it! Thanks for a great look behind the scenes! What a weekend, what an event and what a brilliant race. Finally brilliant and deserved win by Max!
Its always nice to see photos of your peers out in the wild so to speak. Any chance of a video show casing other photographers that you happen to bump into over the season?
I suppose that people that are addicted to celebrity will follow them into f1. Good marketing. Personally the celebrities are so omnipresent that they get in the way of the sporting event. Not really interested in Martin Brundle talking to rappers on his grid walk but Zack Brown and Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti were a treat.
Was that you standing on a ladder in the F1 merch booth at the west campus Saturday?? I was front of the line and waved when you were recording for what looked like maybe Insta stories! ☺️🙌🏻🎉❤️ Such an amazing event!!
I’m not stupid but I can’t believe I haven’t thought about wearing different watches set at different time zones! I have identical clocks in my kitchen set to different time zones but... I’m excited!
