This is the stuff childhood dreams are made of! Someone had an epic childhood back in the day, and now you have an epic addition to the collection! I'm also jazzed to see other vintage lines, and I am a G.I. Joe and Star Trek fangirl as well.
Back in '86 I bought a huge Star Wars collection advertised in one of our newspapers here in Australia. And it certainly was huge just as advertised and cost me around 700 dollars. The seller had migrated here from the UK with his parents. It had pretty much everything we got to see on the card-backs and then some. So many vehicles and play sets and about 200 figures including some obscure ones from what turned out to be from 'Droids'. I already had a lot but this just took my collection to a new level. But I never really looked after it that well. I mainly did it for my younger brothers and sisters to enjoy. I made them happy and that makes me happy looking back. Today it would be a different story buying a vintage collection. But I guess they weren't even vintage yet back then. Lol...
Just recently, my Sister & her Husband were cleaning out their garage & they found a bin of old toys that at 1st they thought it was their Son's but at closer inspection, my Sis noticed a He-Man which predates my nephew by about 30 yrs & she knew they were mine. All in all, everything she found was a portion of my childhood collection which included Masters, Thundercats, Centurions, MadBalls etc.. It was fantastic to not only get these types of figs back in the collection but a wonderful added bonus that these were actually MINE when I was 7-10 yrs old. I cried for sure. Nice Star Wars find on yr part..👌🏼
Nice score, I'm the same way and don't wait the following day, I jump in the car and go right then and there, that's how we get the nice finds we do. 🙂
Teres no greater feeling than finding toys in the wild . It's a wonderful feeling. It's getting harder to do due to the amount of collectors out tere but I'm glad you nailed it . Some kid played with these bad boys now tere home again. They will come up mint and they have found a good home thats important so enjoy the lot it doesn't happen often . I've been lucky and picked up some nice job lots in attics in ireland over the years but like i said its getting harder to find . Everyone knows vintage sw is worth money now including my dog 🐕.... enjoy them bro 👍
Well said, mate. You are 100% correct. It was definitely a fun and memorable experience that I won't ever forget. And because of the channel, I can always look back on it in close detail :)
The hunt is fun. What a great haul. I haven’t hunted for Kenner like this but have picked up a few ( 6 figs) over the years when I was at antique malls or retro toy stores. Love the Star Wars figs, not so jazzed with Indy. It will be cool to see how you integrate this stuff into your collection.
Thanks, Jeff! Best of luck to you. Are you in the States by chance? I'm having a sale right now on my Instagram page. @thegqjedi - The wings/struts have already been listed :)
Amazing score! It must have been like Christmas unpacking it all. You had some great advice I took onboard. Whenever you see something you like - snap it up, otherwise it’ll be gone. I’ve experienced that a few times, where I’ve chewed it over for a few too many days and then it’s too late. Anyways, what an awesome find. Well done and another cool vid to watch!
Never had the Indiana Jones figures. After Star Wars I went straight to the Kenner Super Powers figures. They look great! I had a couple MASK vehicles too. I just loved everything Kenner released. Still do.
I have a nice sized Indiana Jones collection. Including ALL the figures, some "mail outs" and all of the vehicles. Mostly from the "Crtstal Scull" movie release....
That's cool. I've tinkered with getting the original Kenner Indy line but currently have no real display room. Such a bummer. We'll see what the future brings.
Really nice haul. That Gonk and Cap 2 looked in v good condition 😀. Really surprised they had the energiser tools, but not the energiser, usually it’s the other way round. I’ve got one that I need to get parts for. Dave @toypolloi has a good video on making a custom ramp for the Slave I, if you get the urge to start making custom. And I’m voting to get more Indy figures. Never knew they were a thing till I saw Stan Solo making them. I really think there wasn’t a lot that made it to my part of the world…
Thank you! Yeah it's pretty random what is all here in this lot but all very cool to get. Truly an epic moment for me, that's for sure! Im trying to chase down the Droids/Ewoks figures and they're pricey. So not sure if I'm going to try and pull double duty grabbing Indy. We'll see.
Here's me a day late and dollar short again, just seeing this video. (I really need to get caught up on my subscription backlog! Only a couple weeks behind instead of a month, so I guess I'm making progress). But, wow! YES, for sure EPIC score indeed! That is the right descriptor! I'm both proud and jealous of you at the same time! Two big questions: How do you get informed of an offer such as this one? Craigslist, Facebook, Nextdoor? Message boards? Some other means? I've picked up a few odds and ends in the "the wild" as such but at garage sales and flea markets only. Never seen a whole collection like that. Also, please let me (us) know if and when and where you will sell off your excess. (Me, I mostly do ebay under this same name but not selling anything ATM). I prefer trading to selling and buying but not usually an option. Now as to your questions. Yes, I've collected all those other lines at some point in my childhood. I still collect (kept everything from childhood) the SW micro collection. I've sold or traded off all the bits I've had from those other lines. First glance (without looking up somewhere) looks like Tripwire from GI Joe, Wilma Dearing from BR (not sure about the other guy) and Spock from ST the Motion Picture. I can't place the micro Hoth Rebel soldier to his exact set, as I mixed mine up. Now, as to the Raiders figures: Should you start a new collection? Of course the decision lies with you, but I can see you are tempted. They are Kenner and they are Lucasfilm of course. I had those same three figures for Christmas either in '81 or '82 and eventually sold or traded them off to focus on SW 3 3/4". I had a few other figures in the range a little later but eventually sold those as well (including the beloved Marion Ravenwood). I held onto Indy himself for the longest time but eventually he and his remaining whip went too. Know this before you get into it: Those were the first three figures released and probably the most common. The rest will be harder/more expensive to track down. The weapons probably more so since they are not as common as SW. There are quite a few playsets, a horse and I think a few vehicles to get a complete set. I recall a possibly exclusive mailaway figure and /or set as well. Those three look to be in very good condition but all are missing two accessories each; Indy: whip and gun, Toht (pronounced "tote"): gun and overcoat, Cairo Swordsman: two swords. My only advice would be to hold onto those three for awhile and chew on it. It costs you nothing to hold them for a bit until you decide. In the meantime do your research and learn what else is in the range and what it would take to complete it. I think Retroblasting has some good videos, but can't direct you further than that as I don't personally currently collect those. Cheers and congrats! Thanks for sharing! Very exciting and inspiring!
You always leave essays, bro. Good lord. LOL. I don't list what I sell on here. And what I wanted to part with is already gone. I'm most likely not keeping the Indy as I don't have the room or desire to chase down the line, however limited it might be. I can appreciate that they are indeed Kenner and nevertheless, cool figures ;) Glad you could catch up on the videos, my man! See yon the next one.
Kenner Indy was always like a sister line to me. You should definitely go after them. The play sets are so cool. It is EXPENSIVE though, but Hasbro is re-releasing a lot of the figures in a new retro line and also adding new figures in the retro style from the other two movies (they look 100% better than their SW retro). Go for it!
I collect all different types mostly star wars but I have a good collection of motu and battle star Galactica and clash of the titans n buck rogers alot of mego I bought some chips items last week from the TV series back in the 80s I think paunch and John and sarge and a cop bike and also dukes of hazzard and gi joe I am all over the place with what I collect but my main love is a 💯 star wars for sure 👍😎
GREAT find!! Thanks so much for sharing! A big YES (YES!!) on the Indiana Jones line. That's a GREAT line that sounds as if it's really hard to get a hold of. The Raiders of the Lost Ark line is the only IJ figures that matter. Love the G.I. Joe figures I haven't seen the Kenner droid stickers very much Thank you so much for sharing Thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed it! I may....go after the Indy line. We'll see. Still its nice to have some of the figures from the line. Especially Indiana Jones himself?!
Nice pick-up. Shame about the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the sell. Like yourself, the late brother probably wouldn't have sold them off when alive. You got lucky there. Vintage Kenner SW has such an irresistible hold over people. The cult of Kenner is indeed powerful. Meanwhile, your Kenner shrine continues to grow ... 🤣 The two Fetts look really nice. How many Wampa beasts do you now own. 🤣
Great scores. I've done a few of those hunts. Great feeling when you find a sought after figure in good grade. But it can also be disappointing with the vehicles when you inspect them and find damage. I suppose you have to take the good with the bad.
Kenner indiana jones line is small but awesome, but they are expensive and hard to find complete. You have Toht and Cairo Swordsman there. Marion is the hardest to find.
@@GQJedi well, I would say hold on to these three especially Indiana Jones, and if more pop up for a bargain price the your on your way. Remember they are Kenner after all.
I'm on the fence about Indy. It's Kenner so it's fun but nothing quite like SW. I do love Indy but if it were me (I'm broke) I'd stick with SW because there's always something missing to be collected. Thank you for sharing the Kenner content and experience with us!
@@GQJedi okay I'm off the fence. Go for it and collect Indy. It's totally up to you. There isn't really as much to collect as SW so it would be fun to aquire something different made by Kenner to complete relatively easily. I've seen your SW collection and it's impressive! You must have the complete run of figures. I'm halfway there. Thanks for the reply! It's cool to interact with the GQ Jedi himself!
I do have the complete run of main line figures. And today I picked up the entire EWOKS line. Now I'm after the DROIDS which can be pretty pricey. Real estate is my biggest enemy. Display space. Not sure if I will go after the Indy stuff. Stoked for you though. Enjoy your hunt for Kenner ;)
I am only able to buy my collectibles from ebay and it costs a fortune for shipping to were I live if I was to buy this bundle that your showing in this video say it would cost me about 400$ or more just for shipping its insane that's why I mostly buy multiple items from same seller if possible to save money by getting combined shipping
Kenner isn't cheap. Not sure where you live but shipping always costs money, brother. Getting lots is definitely the way to go when possible as you usually get a deal. Most of the time. Just depends.
Oh wow! You can contact me via Instagram @thegqjedi or on my Facebook Public Page. Appreciate your thoughtfulness, Douglas. Super cool to even think you'd consider that. Thank you :)
