Hmmm.... People underestimating Hungary for the 100th time... I have seen this script before...

As an Austrian you put a big smile on my face when you predicted Austria going to the Semis, but obviously there's no denying the fact that we were drawn into a less than favorable group. The games against Netherlands and France are gonna be real tough, but I still believe that we've got what it takes to mark ourselves into this Euro competition. I've already witnessed some of the best games of Austria during Friendlies and the Qualifiers so even if we don't make it out of the group, I'll still be proud of my country and look forward to the world cup because my gut's telling me that there will be some wonderful moments ahead for Austrians. Of course, I believe in our National Team and I think they will give it their all during this magical summer and I'm more then hyped for this wonderful tournament in one of my favorite nations. Until you moved Türkiye up a spot above Scotland in the Best of Third set, it was showing England vs Scotland for Match 40. Can you imagine the atmosphere at that! Nothing could be better than if Scotland somehow managed to knock out England in a Euros tournament... and you just know it would happen on penalties as well. McTominay to score the winning pen 🤣

I think you're underestimating Belgium a bit. They completed their qualifying campaign unbeaten and played almost the entire campaign without kdb and Courtois. Tedesco has also been doing well in trying to integrate the upcoming generation. The midfield and attack are still really good, it's just the defense that's a problem but guys like Debast en De winter seem really promising. Casteels and Sels seem to be also doing fine in goal now that Courtois has declared he won't play in euro's.

i think Belgium is being underestimated at this moment. Yes the big famous players are retired from the national team and the ones that still play are over their top but there are many top level talents that are maybe a bit too young and inexperienced at this point. So at one side you have ambitious young talents and next to them you have Lukaku, De Bruyne, Vertonghen, ... i think this could be the perfect mix of good experienced older players and young blood. If players like De Bruyne guide these young ones it could end up to be the perfect formula. On top of this is the fact that now there is no pressure at all. previous big events it was always "the perfect chance for the golden generation". now they can go there and say we are underdogs we will see what it brings. personally i give them more chance to win this EC and even next WC potentially than ever before. A lot will depend on their current form ofcourse. If De Bruyne suffers from injuries it's game over against the Netherlands. But normally i would say 75/25 to win against them.

Hard to see past France tbh. But i would love to see Portugal or an even darker horse like Spain or Croatia win it

I wouldn’t rule out Georgia 100%, they’re obviously one of the weaker teams but the passion they’ll have with it being their first euros can’t be underestimated, they might not qualify but I could definitely see them pulling off a shock in their group, if they go out they’ll go out swinging.

Fair prediction, I would say as an England fan that we would struggle playing against Italy, Croatia or France so wouldn’t take us to beat Italy and France in a row. My final would be Germany vs France, with France winning, although that’s a pretty standard prediction, the tournament will play out different in reality. There will be a “dark horse” semi finalist team similar to wales before, Denmark, etc. That dark horse in your case is Austria, so it makes sense

Hungary are undefeated for 14 games now, havnt lost a game since Szobo has been captain. They beat and tied Germany in their last 3 encounters and beat England back to back one time being 0-4 in England. They beat Serbia back to back also last year. Scotland started their qualifying strong but have been on a decline since beating Spain and the Swiss are not preforming as well as previous years. I think Germany will top the group being the host nation but I'd say Hungary will end 2nd with Scotland 3rd and the Swiss last.

I think predicting Denmark last in Group C is very harsh, I see why but Denmark are gonna bring a lot of fans as we’re so close to Germany and we have literally just beaten Slovenia in our quali group. Surprises do happen tho. Good luck to Germany from Denmark

Austria has a great team! But i do think you're underestimating Netherlands a bit. They haven't gotten the chance to put up their most optimal performance yet, due to a LOT of injuries. They had 13(!) injuries in their first match against France and 12(!) in the second match against France. Right now, due to the squad upgrade from 23 to 26, I think they have one of the best squads of this Euro. Look at their young team: Maatsen, Van de Ven, Frimpong, New keeper Flekken, Xavi Simmons, Summerville, Koopmeiners, Reijnders, Gravenberch, Gakpo and the list goes on. If they can play as a team at the Euro's I think they will really put up a fight! Good luck!
