“I can’t stick around with something because the world says it’s great”, very nicely said. I am ditching my iPad too for the same reasons very soon. I mean once I have enough money...Surfacebook comes with a very hefty price tag.

Sometimes I see product reviews on my feed and I'm like "Ugh, who's this fancy boah come to talk to me about the bezels on this screen." and then I stumble upon a gem like this.

Most people in the mac world don't even know that a product like Surface book exists since 2015.

As a Windows user that hates using their computer, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so excited about a Windows device

Same with me had my clunky MBP from 2011! Got tired of the overheating however I didn't go for the new mac models. Being a video editor it just was not for me due to the lack of ports. I went for the Surface Pro 7 i5 256 SSD! Got Premiere Pro CC 2020. It ran perfectly. Didn't pay full price bc it was on sale!

Hey great review! Question - how did you find the 15in fared when trying to read articles / browse the web / etc? Did it feel too big for that use case? Im not looking to do heavy graphics work, apart from podcasting. Mainly intrigued by the fact that I can get office productivity work done and then don't need a separate device to do my web browsing / reading from the couch. Debating btw the 13.5 or 15in versions. What do you think?

The problem is “you people” choose your computers by looks and then say you’re a professional that has “needs”. I use to work at Apple, I started in AppleCare (then production as a failure analysis engineer, Elk Grove, CA) and these products do not last. At least they don’t last as long compared to the IBM (now Lenovo) ThinkPad’s I’ve owned over the years. They’re cheap, fast and durable. My cat has knocked my t460p off my couch a dozen times, doesn’t show any signs of use. At Apple that Mac Book would take damage and we’d call that “customer abuse” and at the time charge you a tier’ed pricing of over $1000... but for a few hundred more you can buy a new one.... Louis Rossman did a video where he poured water into his ThinkPad and sent it for repair, before he could track where is was and complain they didn’t update him on the status that they had received it, FedEx was delivering it back to him, repaired, no charge. At Apple we put little water/moisture indicators inside all of our mobile products and if they are pink, sorry... whole logic board replacement, tier 3, $1280 (it’s been over a decade since I worked at Apple, forgot the prices and tiers). Nice huh? Apple is not the same company when Steve Jobs was there. When I worked in AppleCare my cubicle mate nearly fell out of his chair, he took a call which naturally gets a case ID and he was going through the cases of his that got tagged on (meaning the customer called back with the same issue) and Steve Jobs himself tagged his case. Steve Jobs actually took calls from the tech support queue at AppleCare because he wanted to see what problems customers had with their computers because he wanted to improve Apple’s products by seeing what customers struggled with. Your Apple is dead.. it died with Steve Jobs, sorry to say... I miss him too, it was an exciting time. BTW I’m a photographer now. 😎

Bro! Made the exact same leap 3 months ago. Had been a Mac power-user for 15+ years. Couldn't stand how they stopped listening to creatives. My reactions were almost exactly the same as yours. Love it so much that I just picked up a Surface Go. Why? Dunno. But I love it, too!!!! I've already used it more than the 3 ipads I've owned. Great vid!

Great video! One tip that I just realised about my own SB2 a few weeks ago. You can charge the tablet without connecting it to the base. Surface magnetic charger plugs in where the tablet would normally connect to the base. I can't believe I hadn't spotted that until 4 years of SB1 and SB2 😳

The facial expressions are priceless and I enjoyed this video. I am an apple fanboy and I COMPLETELY understand your switch. Steve Jobs in his Keynotes, bragged about adding in the newest ports, but never eliminated everything and just kept one; additionally he admitted apple mistakes and wanted to make things right; like the original iMac mouse, MobileMe and more. In 2016 Apple removed all essential and still wide spread working ports from MacBook and screwed up the keyboard, never admitted their mistake and they wont, because they’re just so proud now, instead of going back to what their customers want. Anyway, this video was amazing. That face you made when you detached the screen, that just killed me.

And actually one of the first ones talking about this issue, I am going thought the same problem been a Mac user ever since 1999, everything started crumbling once I got a top spec MacBook Pro 15 in 2018 it suddenly was being out performed by my old MacBook Pro 13 from 2011, after that I still managed to fall for Apple with one more 15 inch in 2019 and recently a 16inch 2020 all with the same problems you show so clearly in you video.
