ritalin was the drug that finally got my life back on track, I had literally no motivation for years until I started it, Now I have a 6 figure job that I would have never dreamed of getting. Ritalin actually makes me focus and I can soak up everything I see in front of me without any distractions.

How were the side effects?

Are you still taking it ? what's the withdrawn status of your brain health ?
@zugrath16
@zugrath16 3 месяца назад
@@luciamoore3289 From what I've understood, the side effects can vary quite a lot from person to person. I've been taking Ritalin for a couple of months now and I experienced the following side effects: - Mild nausea - Mildly increased heart rate (like when you drink too much coffee) - Increased anxiety - A tendency to "hyperfocus" on whatever you're doing (like I'm doing now lol) But this usually gets better after a couple of weeks, when your body starts getting more used to it. And I think the positive effects very much outweighed the side effects - like having a calmer mind and being able to focus more easily and get things done. I couldn't work a full time job before taking Ritalin. Now I finally can.

I am 34 and take ritalin, but I don't have adhd just add. I was never an extrovert but instead an introvert. I spaced out alot and I had a hard time listening and following instructions. Now I don't have those struggles. Ritalin helps me follow along when converting with others and I listen alot more now. It also lifted my depression and I can now do things and accomplish things that I never could do before. Thank you for sharing your experience

@@Plethorality oh maybe. All my life I struggled with paying attention but I just got diagnosed for add a few months ago. I think in the past they wouldn't let me take it because I have a history of drug addiction, but I don't abuse this medication and actually havnt taken any drugs or alcohol in over 2 years. So maybe that's why they are letting me try it out to see if it helps me and so far it really is helping. I take 20mg extended release

Thanks for sharing. I really hope I'll have a similar effect when I start meds in a few weeks. I've always thought that I had a low grade chronic depression. But it's really that I've been stuck in an understimulated state where I couldn't really focus on anything and that killed my motivation.

I am about to try medication after months of postponing and the reason why I decided to finally try is because I realized that I don't necessarily need it if I stayed in my own bubble, but to survive in this society, where there is no place for slightly different minds. Very sad, but reality. Also watching you I feel like you are describing me.

Ritalin changed my life. Thanks for you perspective. Some of us do need medication in this modern world. Definitely was able to gain more life tools for my tool box. I started in 2000 on that journey. Over prescribed at first and over time found the minimum I could take and have a positive result was ideal. That along with stopping the medication for a period of time and only going back on as needed. Working closely with the Psychologist I found (the only one available in the PNW at the time) we sorted out what could be achieved. Accountability is key to measure your success. Often difficult to know on your own if you are performing or not. Socially and in business. The problem I have now is finding a Doctor that understands I don't need much and I decide how often that is. Doctors are reluctant to prescribe in this way. Having access to Ritalin when I need it is difficult if I dont want to stockpile. Very important what your are doing here by sharing your story.

I stopped ADHD meds after getting my autism diagnosis last year. I wanted to experiment with using my routines as a way to get things done, so I've been working on reducing interruptions. Turns out the most frequent interuption is my own thoughts. That one is tough to manage! I really enjoy your thoughtful videos. Thanks for making them!

Thanks so much for sharing, I've subscribed and will like and share about I noticed you don't have loads of views on this channel - I hope you continue to make videos because your content is high quality and very much supportive I used to take ritalin and concerta as a child and rejected it as I didn't feel like myself but I feel a but like my personality now is like a dopamine sweking marionette of sorts, I dive into conversations I'm not welcome in, attempt to control the conversation so I can hold my own in that social environment, and barely listen or contribute anything of substance anyway I'm hoping the tradeoff is a positive one for me and that in time I can figure out a balance between medicated and unhinged me Really insightful information mate thank you so much

So useful. Thank you. I am going for an assessment on Thursday and I feel like medication may help me at this point in my life as I am having frequent burnouts. I get really bad migraines so I am glad you mentioned that. I am inattentive. My brain never stops and is permanently whirring but I have zero energy so I can't relate to the bounciness that people speak of. I am really hoping that my energy levels will increase with medication. I guess I will have to wait and see and find what suits me best.

i havent been diagnosed, and always was against using drugs for what i considered to be natural. but as im getting to be older - i want to actually be able to sit down with my parents and family comfortably without feeling anxious or hyperactive. i want to feel normal - and not be judged on having so much energy or people thinking that i am high on something (which happens everywhere). even tho people love me, i don't ever feel comfortable sitting still. i think i'd like to experience the other side of things and not be so hyperactive all the time. and at this point - i think people are thinking that something is wrong with me - and that is also why i think i should experiment with medications, maybe i won't be so overwhelming.

enthusiasm is great. it seems like it is a big part of your inner self and any medication that inhibits that is a no go for me (consult your physician please) i found adderall to be better in instant release form during my academic phase in life, and during my professional working phase concerta was more suitable. it definetly made me less spontaneous but its really subjective to me it was not as significant as yours. and I remember taking a medication called "Abilify" and that is when i truly lost all personal traits in favor of "stable" mood

I’ve always valued community, love and friendship over ‘completing goals’. But now on methylphenidate I am so goal oriented it’s upsetting. I feel like I’ve lost my spaceyness and ability to dream and be in the moment. Instead I’m always thinking about what I can do next to improve my future. I think this is necessary for a period in my life, to get me somewhere good but then I’m putting them in the fuckin bin lol

@Lee Lawrence I was prescribed Elvanse (Vyvanse in US) 30mg, however it did weird stuff to me after a few days. I am tiny, I am 56kg and 5'7", and I think my body couldn't handle the amount, but when it was working and not making me all weird and tippy, it was great. I then was prescribed Xaggitin XL 18mg, however this just keeps getting me stuck in "Waiting Mode", so not so good. I have a telephone consultation with my psychiatrist on Tuesday, so I am going to see if there is a lower dose of Vyvanse for me to try instead, like a kids dose or something. I am persevering as when the Elvanse worked, it was amazing. It making me go weird correlated with me coming off my lady time of the month, and ADHD meds don't work well on lady times, I believe, so it was working well before that. Lol ADHD oversharing here 😅😂

Hiya thanks so much for this video it was so useful, especially your perspective on taking meds! You mentioned getting mentoring during college and university for your ADHD, I live in the UK and am currently in university, and was wondering how you went about getting this mentoring and what exactly it is called? my ADHD has made academics extremely difficult throughout my life, and I'm actually currently on a year out from university because of it, so the mentoring you mentioned sounds like it could be a huge help. If you could tell me what exactly it is called in UK universities, hopefully I can ask my university’s disability team about it and see if I’m able receive it. Thanks so much again!

What strikes me is how you don't talk about your autonomy in obtaining and self-administering this controlled medication! With an average of 18months for an ADHD diagnosis then more time waiting for meds, many people are in desperation for help, so you appear somewhat privileged and very self-confident / self-aware. Can you say about how this flexibility of taking meds works? eg. do you have a stash in your drawer and take the odd pill as you think/feel is required? Can you just simply order more online and skip down to the pharmacy or do you have to go back to your GP each time? What's it like when you get there, do you have to be cross-examined again? Myself and I feel many people would appreciate knowing this. Thanks.

I might get medication, they give me appointments for ct scan and blood work, but if i get medication ill only use it for when im writing my music or making beats, because i can work my job without it, because peopl are already acustom with me being antisocial and unfocused 😂😂

Shit!!! I was listening closely to my phone to hear your lovely voice, when i got BLASTED by ads. Extremely loud. You are talking to people with sensory problems, here, mate. Please adjust your recording sound so thar we can turn you down, stoll hear you, and not get our skulls blown up by the ads.

Yeah... turns out for years every time I import something into adobe rush it turns to clip volume down... which means to fix the volume on the 120ish that are wrong I'd need to spend 5 mins editing and re-uploading all of them 5 mins x 120 /60 = 10h. I have not been paid for a single ad shown so far :( But all my future uploads have the audio fixed :)
