Good review Eric. Seems like a missed opportunity with it not having a rotating/adjustable camera. Even a 90° spin option would have made it SO much more capable. Thanks for the review. 😊

In another video I saw the possibility to turn the camera by 30 degrees to the left or 30 degrees to the right 😊

Looks nice! I’d want to give it constant power and have a button for controlling lights that blends in with other switches. A light only version like you mentioned would be smart

Someone suggested dust to dawn bulb in the normal lights by the door, but they didn't work as I wanted them to. So I think I'm going to rewire the switch to always be on, replace the bulbs with hue E12 bulbs and then automate the switch to control all three. I just have yet to get around to it and really don't want to do it cause the switch is a 4 gang box, and I hate to deal with all those wires. Yes, I'm surprised two different design types haven't pissed me off yet, but I'm still hoping for a light-only version soon. But I'll have to re-wire the switch for those too.

Apply a bead of silicone around the face of the base plate then fix it with screws on the uneven brickwork or render.

Add a silicone bead to the top half of the back of the box. Luke a reverse U. That way water can get out but can't get in from above

You need to pull that electrical box out, clean out all the debris, and then mortar the box in place so it's secure and not wiggly. Then you can mount the back plate to it solid and caulk all around to make it waterproof.

Hey Eric great video. Do you know if this camera is included in the Eufy plugin for Homebridge? I'm in between this or the Eve Outdoor Light but like the continuous recording of this one.

8:40 I've never had much success with that plugin for any eufy product. Very very buggy for the ones that are included.

Great video! I considering this but wondering if you can have the light turn on at sunset but turn off at midnight vs sunrise and therefore on all night?

No, you'd have to set a manual schedule instead.

You can wire the box so that your lights get constant power. Bypassing the switch or pig-tailing the power. Also, dont use tape on the outside. Use a clear weatherproof silicone sealant. Or make a custom rubber gasket between the cover and box. To secure your box so it doesn’t wiggle, you can use a PVC 4” square or round box cover. Thin and has holes to mount through. Just paint it to your matching house color or match the light housing color. Thanks for the video btw. 🤙🏼 I think I’ll try this out l.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I wish I could wire it for constant power but the box only has 1 load wire for the 3 lights and I don't want the other two lights on during the day. Thanks for all your ideas.

The fact that you can’t use the camera in horizontal orientation is an absolutely joke, plus with the recent news about Eufy and their stance on privacy, this is an automatic no buy for me.
