Hey Chas, you're old trainer here.. glad to see you're doing good and got away from Wilson. It really has gone down hill even more in recent years which is why I left and went to Bay and Bay.
Just got my CDL permit, living in NYC ima full time single father w/ a daughter just trying to get into the trucking field w/ a comfortable living pay & got in contact with Wilson Logistic been very tempting but also hesitate Bc figured it’s a catch or not as good as they advertise themselves on social media from paid training & etc. Do you recommend Wilson from your experience?
I started with Wilson in Jan. 2021. Wilson and prime are pretty much the same. The pros for Wilson is a smaller class size and little to no wait for a trainer. Prime has bigger classes and you will probably have to wait for a trainer but in the end I think prime has more benefits and options. Like the give out Christmas bonus’s. You can choose to learn tanker, flat bed or reefer.
No you don’t get paid because your not hired as an employee until you have your cdl. They will give you a cash advance for $200 per week when your on the road. But you have to pay it back once you start getting paid.
That's not hard. 10 to 15 weeks if it's only counting while you are driving. If they are counting all miles on the truck you could be done in 5 to 6 weeks.
@@chassadventures9243 I'm planning to go to Ashley Distribution (which owns Wilson), looks like training and pay the same. I have a question, I want to drive more like 2500-3000. Do they have enough loads for that amount of driving? Do you might telling me what's the cpm at starting? Thanks
@@kenny6908 I heard that Ashley bought part of Wilson. However I did not work for that division, they did dry van on the west coast and I hauled prime reefer trailers so I think it would be a little different. I think those miles should be do able some weeks. Especially if you work hard and have a good dispatcher.
