Wilson logistics is really on another level they have treated me and my family great they have even offered their time to help my wife be more comfortable about me being gone and answer any questions she has. I recommend them to anyone that's just starting out and/or has a partner who is against them becoming a trucker they will take care of you.
@@gotdat1873 Why August? Is there that long of a wait or did you choose to start in August? I'm just asking because I would like to start as soon as my daughter graduates so I need to know how to time it.
Great company to work for. I worked there for a year. My recruiter still text me to see how things are going. I left for a regional job with Barr-Nunn with more home time.
@@PykeGriffin I just talked to a recruiter today and was told you’ll be lucky if you see your house for 30 days out of a year. With that being said you’re getting about 2 days home a month
Big Kev is spot on. I am training right now with Wilson. You start getting paid after you get back from 2-3 weeks of driving with your initial trainer. Then you come back and take the CDL driving test. Once you pass the test and get your CDL-A license, then you go out with another trainer where you will team drive with your trainer fo 30k miles. It is at this point that you begin to be paid. The pay $600/week for the first 10k miles, then $700/wk for the last 20k miles. You then must complete a one year contract driving for Wilson or you will have to pay back a prorated portion of the training cost. The company is who they claim to be. So far, I am very thankful that I decided to train with and work for them and definitely recommend them.
@@GullveigSonn, they had me get my permit in my home state. And then had me get a Montana one when I got to their Missoula yard for training. The idea behind it is that it shows you have the basic knowledge before you start the program.
A great video. Thanks to Big Kev. I had to choose between Swift or Wilson and this is the kind of info I needed. I start at Wilson in July. I'm excited. Thanks again fellas.
I bought the back shield at the Dallas Truck show right after I met you there. It's no joke I even paid an extra $10.00 bucks for the last blue one. I love it. It lifts the pressure off my lower back. I'm still good after 11 hours in the seat.
Started my career here back when the division In Missoula, MT was named Jim Palmer trucking. The people there were all good and they still keep in contact thru social media eventho I’ve been gone for 4 years now. I left to run the eastern region. Great place to start
This sounds like an amazing product. I NEED this! My buddy went to Wilson training in August. I'm going to Prime next week. Both good starter companies.
This video basically sold me the idea of working for them. I just need to get my Class A permit and then ill be going through their Paid apprenticeship program (hopefully). Thanks for the video, it was very informative.
Sounds like a good deal... Ive been driving 20 years, and see these folks drop 9 to 10 grand on school... CRST charged my buddy 9 grand... He quit ... CRST came after him for the 9 grand, debt collectors and ruined his credit.
I got my CDL through Wilson Logistics last week, September 4th, made some awesome friends during training. I’m out here on my first week of C Seat making money. During D Seat, before CDL, you can get a maximum of $200 a week for an advance to help pay for food. They give you a hotel and a bus ticket. All that is required is to work for them for 1 year and then you don’t have to pay the $3500 for the CDL program. Which isn’t bad considering that they are paying you to get your CDL and you’re getting 1 year of experience under your belt. Loving it so far. Can’t wait to get through this program in the next couple of months and get my own truck to start driving solo! Any questions feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer or find out if I don’t know.
Bertho Jean as far as I know you get put in a truck driving. I think they do some driving test to make sure you’re a safe driver then you get out on the road driving
My trainer had a back brace like that in his truck. I hated it. Even after a month and a half, it would still make my back start hurting after a couple hours. Not saying that it's not great for other people, just wasn't for me.
You don't get paid before you get your CDL, but for those first two weeks until you do get it they will advance you a few hundred a week. It ain't much, but it will keep you eating. They collect it back at $50 a week after you get your CDL. Most coaches will also spot a student a lunch or dinner here and there as well. After you get your CDL you start earning an actual paycheck.
@@desirp88 When I went through the Missoula location in '19 you were put two to a room in a nearby hotel. The room included breakfast, though that may have changed this whole wuhan flu thing started. The school does buy you lunch for the few days you are there and those were all really good, all you can eat, meals. Dinner was on the student. But you're only in the hotel for about 4 days; you start on Monday and are gone in a truck as a team with a coach by Thurs/Fri. After that it's all on you.
@@desirp88 So I've been driving for nearly two years now. Currently pulling for Amazon. ABSOLUTELY the worst job I've had since getting my CDL; Amazon will work you as hard as they can within the limits of the DOT regulations and there is no room for wiggle; if you have some personal stuff pop up Amazon doesn't care; they WILL hold it against you. The only reason I stick with it is because of the guy I work for; I don't work directly under Amazon. We're contracted. But I've hauled for about six companies already and I can say that Amazon is absolutely the worst in caring about drivers. They don't give a Flying Hillbilly F*** about anybody that works for them, only the bottom line. There are many companies that will train you and I would urge you to see ANY of the others and run from Amazon as fast as you can. I have my reasons for staying right now, but it won't be more than 30 more days from now at which time I'll be able to drive for a company that cares. Best of luck to you.
I had gotten my CDL in April, and called Wilson the other day and they won't accept me . Said I was too far out of school and that I would need a year of experience.
I'm ex Wilsonlogistics. I can confirm everything that guy said is true. BUT I do have a fairy tale that happened to me and that's the reason I quit. I'll make it as short as possible. My trainer and I picked up a flower load and had to deliver at 10 different locations and unload by hand nothing was on pallets. I worked for 35 hours straight no stop no sleep no break no food. I called my dispatcher and asked to get paid extra for that. He said yes and after A few days he said that's just how flower loads are so I didn't get any extra pay. That wasn't the only reason I left that company but it was the main reason. I'm looking for a new trucking job now.
Wilson logistics if you chose the Springfield terminal that division mostly runs east of the Rockies every once in a great while you will get a load out west
I have a question I will be training with Wilson logistics in 3 weeks. Let's say I'm not picking up the skills fast enough like the other students will they be 100% dedicated to help me get my CDL if I give 100% commitment by studying learning not caring about home time don't care about being paid willing to have hands on training or extra study on brakes ECT I even thought about alternative by paying them for extra training for 1 or 2 hour extra training because 4-5 weeks is not alot
Hi how are you doing ? Always watching you like all the information it’s really helpful , I have one question we are team driver just got the approval for buying a truck after 1 year experience with fedex now I am looking for a company please can you advise me which company I should join as team owner operator thank you .
These work. I’m a new trucker and LA roads were beating me to death. I get all the support my back needs from this product. You would have to fight me to take it. :)
I work doing local delivery in my own little car I get paid 101 per mile I'm thinking to get into the trucking industry but for what I see some weeks I make more than some of these truck drivers and I only drive a Kia Spectra interesting
@@dominickjustave3558 im thinking containers but not sure yet like i said im getting 1.01 as a 1099 but some times i get 2 delivery in 1 trip and get paid for both so a 60 mile trip pay 120 if i have 2 stops i was thinkingat least 2k per week if i make the next step
Dude get 5% lidocaine patches from your DR. At Walmart you can get menthol patches as well, they really help your back pain. Why are you not wearing a weight belt while doing the work?? I have terrible back pain and these three things make a big difference. And now Voltaren gel is OTC and it is great for localized pain treatment.
That’s ideal. All these guys go lease with no experience and 90% of them screw themselves. Learn on someone else’s truck, because you don’t want to screw up your own equipment.
Asian send me your address I will send you a product that will help you with the pain, it is call real time pain relief. I am James Smith and I listen to you and I am going into the industry because of your show your show has help me seal my decision. Thank you hope to meet in the industry. Be blessed blessing.
You run team to pay your dues, to get experience...real world...driving at all hours day or night, all conditions depending on time of year and all kinds of backing. I had no complaints, at least you make some money while getting excellent training. 30k miles, plus the 5k to 10k while holding a permit.
Closer to 50 with the fuel bonus. Usually anywhere between 48 and 52, and that’s on the advanced (prime fleet) the western, heavy haul, pnw regional and i5 regional all pay more but you move to those fleets after experience. Our local guys make like 28 an hour. Lease usually takes home 70-80k pretty easily. For a beginner company they’re one of the better ones
When I started in October it was: Full 48: .40-.45 per mile plus fuel mileage bonus. Western 10: .45 per mile. Heavy Haul: .50 per mile There is also an I5 fleet, but I don't know what it pays
