I agree with you there boss! Rent in Thailand is best and not just because you can always up sticks and try a new location. You avoid maintenance and standing charges. 😊 Chok dee khrap!
When your flying back to Thailand next month, please do a video leaving the uk and hopefully you get a window seat. Love these videos...hopefully your house issue will get sorted asap
Thanks for the update. I was beginning to think you'd given up on vlogging. Sorry here things are not going as planed. Stay positive man you'll get there. Super cool👍
Sorry to hear about the issue selling your property. My last one took 6 buyers to sell after 5 dropped out! It sold in the end so stay positive and I look forward to your future videos. I’m in Kettering.
Saudi Airlines offer pretty cheap flights to BKK from Birmingham. They also allow you change the (rerun) flight for £80, I think. Thanks for the update, keep it chipper 😊
Similar situation, came back to blighty to wrap up selling the house and cash in everything, then head back to SE Asia. As you rightly said, its just time...
Im in Thailand 25 years your completly wrong about property in Thailand Your partner and yourself can buy house and land The land will be hers but you can register your name on the house 82 baht cost This would ensure that if your wife still alive she cannot sell without your permission in the event of her death NO ONE can kick you out Believe me i know ive got property baht. Its called a Usuffruct 0:41
Technically you are correct but it’s a long legal battle with her immediate family who will lay claim I had a situation I got involved with a Thai bird we got house together and I paid for everything house the lot we got married on the wedding night I was trying to give her one for the first time as she said she was a virgin and wanted to wait I kid you not the reason she wanted to wait was she’s a lady boy I got screwed over him and his family got the house and I got 8 years for manslaughter of his partner
You can buy a apartment in your name just not bottom floor lol. And this guy above doesn't really understand your wife will always own the land and can kick you as you can't own land. But you can solely own say a 2 second floor apartment or above just nit the land it sits on
I know someone who did that, and the wife did sell it, anyway. He took her to court and won. He didn't get the house back, the new owners kept it. He didn't get a penny from her as she claimed she had spent the money. She did get a few years in prison for theft though, but only served 2 weeks as the prison governor released her (so obviously she hadn't spent all the money)
Good luck fella, you’ll get there. I retired to Canada last summer. I worked there but had to go back to uk and sell up. My missus stayed in Canada. House sold then it didn’t then it did. Took a lot longer than we hoped. I’m here now and that was then😅. Looking forward to your Hua Hin Vlogs
Yay you’re back! Thanks for the update, a little snag in the road you will be back on your plan and travelling on your adventures in no time! Hopefully the house goes through soon for you. The situation with you and your wife doesn’t need to make sense to anyone but you guys, it’s your life and your both happy so let people judge keep doing what your doing you only have 1 life live it the way you want to! Looking forward to more travelling and Thailand adventures!
Was wondering where you’ve been, glad all is well. Sorry to hear your plans have been delayed, wishing you all the best with your house sale and it gets straightened out. Missed seeing your vlogs. Looking forward to all your adventures. Cheers mate🍻

Sold my house uk and now live in Hua Hin. I've lived in several places in Thailand over the last 30 years, Hua Hin is the best I've found. Seen the NMA live many times since the 80s
Hi Rocket good to see your Always looking on the bright side of life It’s a gamble renting my house was managed back in the 80s and got trashed All the best in the future
Great video Tony been wondering where you had go to was thinking you where chilling with a Cheeky Chang, best decision to off load the Rushden house and invest the proceeds. I see some changes with Thai visas hope that's not a problem going in and out.
Rocket, Fancy a trip to the Thai festival tomorrow in Manchester Love your vlogs and keep it up. I’m in Derby so if you fancy it with my Thai wife you you have a good time
Oliver's army is on their waaay...🎶🎵🎶 Old punk on a bench in the countryside scoffing double nut dessert and cider eh? Made me chuckle! Good luck with the sale, it really will all get sorted and you'll look back and think that was nothing much. English countryside looks quite nice anyway, watch out for the yobbos!
You mention new tenant laws in UK giving tenants more 'power' over landlords whats the situation in Thailand like. What happens if Thai landlord increases rent or asks you to leave are you well protected over there? Just like to say Great videos and very informative content keep it up.
I rent my property out and live in New Zealand. I don't need a property manager they are just middle man between you and the tenant. You just need a good relationship with the tenant and a few good contacts with handyman, saves me a small fortune
Your justifications for renting in Thailand do make a lot of sense. My hack to the system on this as you said comes from buying cheap and to do that ive took to auction houses (im in a different country). Auctions do have pitfalls which needs thorough research first but the option is there if you ever want to snap something up cheap.
Another great vlog you have done your homework and have been clever doing so setting up your retirement in Thailand respect 🙏 Question ? Would you setup and buy bar in Thailand with a Thai bar girl asking for a friend 🤔
You will also fall foul of capital gains tax when you do come to sell if you do rent it out at anytime the UK Government will make sure they take their cut
been living in the house iam selling for 19 years I have had a rent paying lodger for a couple of years and all income has been declared the sale of my house is going through and Iam not due to pay any extra tax on the sale thanks for your comment
thanks for the update. it certainly makes sense to get rid of that property. instead of keeping cash in the bank melting away, did you consider bitcoin? looking forward to your continuing journey! all the best man!
it would never be 900 £ a month your getting your sums wrong iv got 2 property's with agents never never £900 look again mate ok also hopefully you know if you live out of uk for more than 6 months a year your pension is frozen ok
thanks for comment £900 includes my mortgage frozen pension does not affect my retirement the increases are minimal and I have other income my sums are correct also the house is sold now thanks for your input
I feel sympathy for our country, low income people are now suffering to survive yet inflation and recession keep increasing daily, many families can't even enhance the good cost of living anymore. You've helped me a lot Sir Brian! Imagine I invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days
