That Strathmore 500 multimedia paper holds the color so well in good part because it is 100% cotton paper. So it's a bit unique, it has a surface that is great for colored pencils, etc., while handling paints almost like a premium hot press watercolor paper. Also available in their spiral bound visual journals.
I always love to watch fellow artists showing me their favourite art supplies!!! It´s always inspiring and a bit exciting 🧡 (And I think I need to try out this Strathmore sketchbook some day! 🙃)
My favorite art supply is a gel or ballpoint pen. They encourage me to be more loose with my sketches, and just look better in my opinion than regular pencil sketches in my sketchbook. Thanks for the awesome video!
I stumbled upon your instagram via someone mentioning it in a RU-vid video, and I was so surprise and excited to find you have a RU-vid channel as well!😊❤️
What a great video! Informative and fun :) will keep the soft cover sketchbook reference in mind! And I had the same pencil sharpener as a kid 😄 loved it so much.
If the pencil sharpener keeps breaking your points, the blade might be dull. You can uncrew the old one and replace it with one from a different sharpener.
That was my biggest gripe with PCs. You can’t hand sharpen them in 95% of sharpeners. I carried around a tiny battery powered one when I was in art school 😂
Thank you for the video! I've been in the biggest art slump lately and this made me feel excited about it again. I'm happy that I found you because you inspire me. ❤️ Also, I love Strathmore sketchbook but sadly here in Europe I can't find any.
Always love to see what other artists love and swear by!!! Great video and I’d love to share my favorite supplies on my channel too someday! But right now I’m still learning from other artists like you!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
yummy. love seeing all your colours :) If you ever feel so inclined, I would absolutely love to watch a vid of swatching your entire watercolour and gouache collection. I am a total nut for swatching videos, I love seeing them, even if they are long :) And you can babble about your thought if you want to even, im a colour fanatic. Loved this one though !! and your other vids! Been following you for a while on here and insta, you are for sure gonna blow up on here soon
Man i love looking at sketchbooks there's something really therapeutic about it. Great art just discovered your channel through Instagram hope to see it grow soon:D
If you like the Shinhan, SWC, you should try the Shanahan PWC. That stands for student, watercolor and professional watercolor the professional watercolor has more pigments, less fillers and binders and it is still pretty inexpensive, especially compared to other professional watercolors.
I thought that looked like Hangul, I'm teaching my daughter Korean at the moment and the writing part is too hard for her I think lols. Maybe will try the strathmore for my next sketchbook too. You have great taste in art supplies xxx
Hi Yumi! I really enjoy all your videos, you are the reason why I wanna try pencil colors haha, which size is your Strathmore? it seems the perfect size
We have a lot of the same favs. I use almost exclusively strathmore 400 mixed media 9x12’s. Also, did your elementary school teachers give you a hard time about how you hold a pencil? 😞I held mine like that and they trained me to do it “normally”. Whatever the heck that word means
@@yumiincolor they put this rubber thing on my pencils so I literally couldn’t hold it like that. I can still write and draw like that but it feels really weird.
