My Favorite Makita LXT Impact Driver of 2022! 

My father in-law owned a white Makita XDT04Z brushed impact for about 8 years. When looking for a replacement I helped him get some new impact driver online and it all came down to the XDT13Z or the subcompact XDT15Z. Since he wanted speed modes we went with the 15Z. It's been doing ok for 3 years now. Great tools

I wouldn’t know on the 18v platform. I’m currently in the 12v platform and I have no complaints.

The 19 is the one impact that I don’t own . The rest I can say are great tools

The xdt12 was actually the first top from makita xdt14 is lower end came out same time, love my makitas

As you said, to get into Makita i ended up getting the xdt13 kit w the 3.0 battery for $99. i bought a missing 3/8 driver i needed & ended up being $112. super cheap , i always wanted to try Makita i’ve always had DeWalt & growing up my dad did too. it feels more powerful honestly than the DCF850 i have & that’s w a 5 Ah battery too.

The 12 was more comparable with features to the 16. The 14 has less modes. I just got the 172(19) ordered it in purple from Japan. Apparently the 19 came out in Japan in 2021.

They are all good but the dtd153/xdt13 is my favourite.

I got the 16 as a kit with the xph14. Love it. My first makita tool. It’s a beast

19 sound better to me tbh
