I have the 3 level lumber rack you mentioned ... it's a life saver!!! So much little left over long scraps of wood and flooring. They are perfect for those "over the door" and out of the way areas.

Two points: 1. If I buy something that is already in a container (like Kreg screws), it stays in that container. When it’s time for a refill, the old goes into the new, and the old container gets discarded. 2. Adam Savage is off the opinion that drawers are where tools go to die. He built a mobile tool cart that stores all of his tools. That way, all his tools are always with him, and he knows where everything is all the time. I tend to agree with him, so I built me one as well. Never looked back… Such a fantastic project you did here, and it turned out really great!

I'm old and cheap I use cardboard boxes and buckets to organize and carry job site tools. So when you were showing the tool bags for temporary use I was thinking about my bucket that's $5 and multi use. The bucket caddy spoke to me 😂 I enjoy your videos everything is so pretty and neat 180 from me... I most liked the brief tour at the end to see your choices and use of space. I've struggled with organization all my life, you gave me some good ideas. Plus your shop is looking less like a kitchen and more like a shop! 🙂

Your workshop's looking really organized! One trick I have learnt was to cover the bottom of any drawers with thin rubber sheet. This stops all your tools you have in there from sliding around every time you open the drawer. It also protects the wood from staining incase your tools have a grease residue on them.

I’ve slowly been growing my tool collection since I bought my house several years ago and a rolling chest was one of those items that didn’t make any sense to me until recently when I noticed how many small items I have that don’t really store easily on shelves. I may get one in the future or opt for a set of stackable tool boxes.
