My Favourite Board Games episode six - Mafia de Cuba 

I wasn't clear on the Cleaner so I looked it up. When the Godfather tells someone to empty their pockets, the Cleaner can immediately KILL THEM, before they reveal anything. If it turns out that they are an Agent, the Cleaner wins ALONE. If they aren't an Agent, the Cleaner and their victim are both out (and if the victim had any diamonds, the Godfather gets them). So the Cleaner has to be sure they're targeting an Agent, by paying close attention to the Godfather's investigation. It says the Cleaner "acts like a Loyal Henchman", I'm not sure if that means they also win if the Godfather and loyal team wins, or if they ONLY win by using their special ability?

I think I certainly want to give this one a try. I'm not the biggest fan of "social deduction" games but I've certainly enjoyed a few, but what tends to ruin them is usually introducing one person who takes it far too seriously.

Thanks, Johnny! I'm also not a fan of most social deduction games, but this one looks like it might be fun. The other one I really like is Inhuman Conditions, which is a 2-player game that's basically the Voight-Kampff test from Blade Runner in game form.

I'd never heard of this game, it looks charming! An interesting discussion on how social deduction games can turn sour as well - I haven't played them enough to have even considered that could happen.

For social deduction, I also really enjoy "Hail Hydra" because it has both an "action" and "discussion" phase to it, so you can maintain the focus on what players did more than just guessing at their "tells." If you have not played it before, it's a sort of hybrid of "King of Tokyo" and "Mafia."

That sounds like a fun game! I'm truly over Resistance for the same reasons you listed, also because is exausting to lie a lot when it happens hahahaha; plus any new players to the game suffer with that unbalance of knowing people. Will definetly try to find this one if there is a version in portuguese or an english one here in Brazil. Love the content, Johnny. Thanks a lot

More a comment for the algorithm; when you run out of favorites will we get different Johnny's favorite things (cocktails, books, movies etc..) or other videos about boardgames?

I love these videos, but do have a growing 'pile of shame' of unopened board games... I need to try & get my friends more interested in playing :-)

Sounds like an interesting game. Sadly I don’t have a large enough pool of friends/acquaintances for me to play it in real life, but I wonder if it could be done online… Either way, very nice discussion Johnny!
