Had the latest magic keyboard come with backlighting, I would have bought it. For the listed price it ought to have. I'd keep a look a lookout for a leather "bookbook" case/sleeve - not yet available from 12-South (the original producers), nor via Apple store - expected 16" set for "spring 2022". That being said, I'd not recommend its use for long sessions, because of blocked ventilation whilst sitting atop leather. Wow, that was written in far too formal a fashion. Although I'm on a waiting list for one, I may reconsider for that reason.

I've been browsing for accessory videos since I got the 14 inch pro and everyone I found recommends the usual Apple accessories - AirPods, Magic Keyboard, etc. I had my mouse over the X button ready to click away but THANKFULLY you have real recommendations. Thank you. Great video, subbed.

Inateck makes cases with 270º zippers. So when it's in your backpack, you can takeout the laptop without taking out the whole case. The accessory zipper is also accessible without needing to take out the case.

Very interesting Mark, the little monitors really got my attention, don't know if they would be bright enough for exterior usage but they might be useful as video monitors on certain shootings i have in mind for the future. On a side note thank's for moving the blue light, much better. Also wanted to ask did you use auto white balance for this vide ?, might just be You Tube's compression but the colour of your shirt seemed to be shifting colour fro warm to cool. I'm assuming the shirt is a warm beige/grey ? Thank's for sharing :-)

Hi Mark! Allow me to ask a question regarding the hub. Will you test if the hub can handle two external displays, as well as charging the Mac simultaneously - via one TB cable only? I simply cannot find this information anywhere on the internet, and I'm really starting to struggle 😉 My M1Pro 16" is incoming early February, but I still haven't figured the perfect one cable setup to connect both my HDMI/Displayport 1080p displays and charge the laptop at the same time. Thanks in advance!

I wish I would have seen this a few weeks ago. I bought the Caldigit USB-C HDMI Dock. The pluggable looks better for my needs as I am now in the market for a USB-A hub to hang off the Caldigit. The Caldigt only has 2 USB-A ports on the back. I actually need 5 for my setup.

Thanks for the suggestions! How about external SSD's? I just ordered the 16" M1 Pro (base model) with 512G SSD. What's worth getting once (if) my internal SSD gets stuffed?

I have been a MBA user for a few MBA now. Current one is the last USB-As version and is acting up a bit so I am hoping the new MBA will have more ports, MagSafe, headphone jack and a good DAC to decode Apple Lossless music and powerful enough I can use my expensive headphones with

Mouse does not look as though it's for left handers!! (waiting for my 16" MBpro) I am am looking for a something that will connect from the MB to my 10gb home network. Great channel thanks for sharing you views. Are you in the uk? Accent is right but the $ reference makes me wonder. 😊

The usb-A to usb-C cable that comes with the intehill monitors is so you can power the monitor with a power bank and run the video via hdmi if you don’t have usb-c output at the source.

The accessories I use for my MacBook Pro 2016 touchbar are basically form two brands: Apple’s first part accessories and Ugreen. I use the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, USBC to Multimedia dongle, USBC to USBA dongle, and AirPods/Beats headphones. The reason I use the Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard is I don’t like full plastic mice and keyboards, they generally have a plastic hollowness feeling when in use, the aluminium housing on the Magic Keyboard and the glass top on the Magic Mouse made them to feel more solid. Other Apple’s first party accessories, they just work reliably all the time, and I’m will to pay the Apple tax for how well they work. For the Ugreen accessories, it’s simple: they are decently priced, they are well made, and Ugreen makes everything. Cables? Check. Hubs? Check. Laptop stands? Check. Laptop pouches? Check. Cases? check. Chargers? Check. Wireless chargers? Check. Basically, when I need something that Apple doesn’t offer, I’ll go for Ugreen. Especially on hubs, they offer all kinds of combinations. When I was looking for a hub with every port I need (PD charging, USBA, Ethernet and HDMI) I looked at many brands but they all have SD card slots which I don’t use at all. So I turned to the old trusty Ugreen, and yes they have one with PD, USBA, Ethernet and HDMI, and no SD card slots. It’s so satisfying to get a hub with only the ports I need.

i dont get it. whas the thing that makes people so god dnam fanatic about apple products. i find them rather boring. you cant play games on a Mac. the phones are not nearly as customizable as android everything is lower spec. the only thing i kinda get with apple products is the finish and design, its probably some of the very best out there. but for any Tech savvy Apple is just MEEH at best. you cant really nerd around with it because its so locked.... aight i understand that its made fool proof. it just works and it all ties nicely up together. but that's also about it... i don't see apple offering anything i cant get elsewhere other than the design! if someone whos Apple fanatic can explain why they love it so much please change my mind!

I am not an Apple fan, but I use an iPhone (switched from Android about a year ago). I purchased a second hand iPhone 11 and initially, I was frustrated with it because it had some issues [heating and battery drainage] and some useless limitations [not being able to change alarm ringtone separately, only shows 100 call logs]. But overtime, most of my complaints were solved with OS updates: heating issues stopped and battery life improved (and now I can see more call logs), other than these, other limitations and issues do not bother me much. Despite being an older model, it works better than most of my friends phones and I get better software support than their newer models. Other than all this, the main reason for me is that I use certain (paid) software like Things, Streaks, Craft, GoodNotes, and a few more which are still not available on Android; these apps are very important and I do not think I am willing to live without them. I personally I do not care about customization and I do not like the newer Android UI style (Material You) so from a design standpoint android is not for me. Edit: as you spoke about Mac as well: While I do not use Mac, I do not play games either. I mean, I have thought to try Gaming but I never really got much into it, I have a few installed but I hardly ever play them. So incase if I were to try Mac, lack of gaming would not be an issue to me.
