variations on this all over. here it is you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. don't get involved with damsels (or messed up males as well) because all you end up with is a distressed damsel.

Story 1: I'm glad OP broke up with her, it will be best for his mental healthy. Story 2: I loved that story, i'm happy this OP wasn't a doormat. Story 3: What was on their mind to use someone's else pool without permission? Anyways, i'm happy their daughter let it slip out to OP what they were doing so OP finally did something to make it stop.

S1- so she doesn't want to take the steps to get better...she just wants to use other people as a shield for the abuse while she follows her toxic family for crumbs. She's lost everything and still refuses to accept any help or change. S2- OP went with tasteful revenge... she let him know she knew without blowing everything up. Im glad she left and is doing good!

Story 1: NTA. OP is more patient than anyone else in that situation. If the ex-fiancé has more than half a brain cell, she'll figure out later that OP and the friends who were concerned were right to be. Her family's going to squeeze every last dollar from her, then dump her on the streets.

Story 1: I got out of a relationship such as this, he was a mama’s/daddy’s boy hoping to inherit his parents’ money. They wrote him out of the will, save a “sad sounding fart” left to him so as to not be able to challenge the will. Fortunately I wasn’t paying any of HIS expenses, and he didn’t pay any of mine. I dumped him when he wouldn’t stand up for himself, despite my efforts to encourage him.

also, a marriage is a CONTRACT. today's semi educated do not get past the religious side of it. But then, the past few generations are increasingly not wanting to be bound by contracts. so, shackups do not have anything binding other than a verbal agreement. and it has been said verbal contracts are not worth the paper they are written on. some do work out. however, there are no vows exchanged so if someone decides to 'step out' there is nothing they have violated other than the verbal shenanigans. so technically these people who run round with someone else haven't broken any contract. so why are they bitching about them stepping out? they don't have any binding contracts with them. their gamble
