Hey loves, I did the big chop for the first time! January is the month that I always cut or trim my hair. I knew that I wanted to go shorter. Have you done the "big chop"? Have you considered it? How did you feel?
This cut is so cute on you! It really fits you! I look forward to seeing it grow out this year. Yes I've done the big chop back in June 2013. I was just sick of my damaged hair, I felt relieved after but awkward cause I never had my hair that short. But it was exciting to see it that healthy and watch it grow out. I've done several mini chops since then
I did my big chop last month due to damaged hair and I was getting sick of it and wanted to try something new .. at first I was like omg can I please have my long hair back, but after styling it, I LOVE the short cut. I don't look like a baby anymore lol I actually look my age ! it has grown a lot since I cut it but honestly I'm loving this shortness and so glad I did it! Love short hair on you by the way 😘
I finally found someone with my hair type! I'm so excited , I can't wait to see the rest of your videos! I am also in consideration of doing a big chop, so this was major help. Thanks!
I big choop-ed and it was maybe the happiest time I've ever attempted something dramatic with my hair!! Love your video so inspirational. Keep up with the good work
I have always had long hair and I got a relaxer when I was about 18. I did a big chop in March and I felt great and really rejuvenated. I get more compliments now on my hair than I did before. I love it! I like your video, you have really pretty hair
Notification gang gang!! Girl yasss curl journey 2018 in full effect!! I literally big chopped my damage off "about a week ago" lol close to your current length. Looking forward to your bomb ideas for this length and you can deff make it work!
I freakin LOVE this hair cut on you!!! So beautiful!! I went natural last year. At the end of March, it will be 1 year of me having no relaxers. And on June 27, 2017 I did my big chop!! I felt so good afterwards. I did my own big chop cause I never had short hair before and I wanted to be the one to do it. I felt so free!! It was a new beginning for me and I never been happier with my decision. I LOVE my natural hair and I LOVE my natural curls!!
My last big chop was 2/2017. I was frustrated with my hair because I had so many setbacks. It can be daunting in the beginning, but as you learn to truly take care of your hair and yourself it becomes rewarding.
After I big chopped I felt so beautiful. For years I dealt with confidence issues and not loving myself, almost hiding behind my hair. I felt so amazing and to this day I don’t regret it. The only thing I’d say is don’t shave your own head like I did, make sure you know you really want to, and once you do it, EMBRACE YOUR BALD HEAD
I HOPE I can feel more "womanly when I chop mines off! I'm super nervous because I've ALWAYS been teased esp by family really bad about my forehead! Smh
I did my big chop about a week ago and I feel so AMAZING! 😆Definitely loving my little curls. My husband is feeling it too 🤪 loved your video! Your cut looks so DIVA compliments you so well!
I don't remember what year I did my first big chop, but I took some electric clippers and buzzed it all off. It felt so good. I kept my buzzing my hair for years because I loved it so much and I also bleached it blond - before it was a look. Now I'm trying to grow my hair out and I suck at taking care of it because I'm just not used to having hair because I haven't had to do anything for years. I love that I found your channel because I feel like we have somewhat similar hair density although I think my curls are a little tighter than yours. Love you 💗
I just did the big chop this past Sunday and I am only 15. Most of my life I had perms but it started to get really damaged because I had to start doing my own hair. I started to wear more and more wigs to grow it out. So far my curls are still really tight but I was growing my hair out for almost a year (it will be a year in may) and I feel so exposed to be honest. I’ve never really had short hair. It’s a huge change for me actually, but right now I would say I don’t regret it. I’m looking forward to increasing my confidence actually.
I did a big chop about 9 months ago, I’ve got the same texture as you, it was a bit longer but the back looks exactly the same ! I’m just waiting impatiently for it to grow now, I’ve got a short bob which is pretty cute finally but I prefer longer hit on me. This haircut really suits you ❤️
Big chop-felt so relieved to get rid of those stringy relaxed ends...best hair decision I’ve ever made💖 You look amazing with short hair, I hope you love it as much as I do💕
Love your cut which I saw on IG through Carol’s Daughter’s IG 2 days ago! I did my big chop from having heat damaged armpit length natural hair into a curly bob on 5/10/2013 at a natural hair salon here in Atlanta, even though I transitioned back in June 2007, and was completely natural by July 2008. When I did my big chop, it was surreal for my hair to be so short, but I loved it, since I felt liberated & nervous! My hair is now almost mid back length, if it’s not there already, since my hair has grown since having it straightened last late October for the first time since early November 2013. I’m all for the big chop!
the cut is really cute on you. my first big chop was 3 years ago and I shaved my head. my hair now after all of the protective styles is down my back. you make me miss my short hair. :)
I actually just big chopped my hair yesterday! And I love it the outcome. I remember coming down to my last section thinking omg what did I do. But once my boyfriend saw it and he loved it I was more confident in the cut!
I did my first big chop the summer of 2016 so get it boo! It's hair and will grow back especially since you braid your hair allot. I'm amazed at how it actually does grow back of you take care of it, but then dyes are a weakness.
Girlll I just did mine a day ago! And I was just so fed up with the frizz, no curl definition except for in my kitchens and my ends breaking off no matter how many oil treatments/leave in conditioner I had in my hair 24/7 !! So I chopped off just like you ! I felt sad that I didn’t have my length but liberated from the damage that was weighing my hair down! Now I’m just ready for it to flourish!!!
big chop in October boy cut it took two weeks to see a wave pattern and to thicken up so from there on I loved it and kept getting it cut so now I'm here in April deciding to let it grow hope I don't get frustrated with it I wanna be able to do twist outs...big hair goals now....your hair is pretty
When I did my big chop I was really really nervous and excited at the same time 😭. Yes, I cut my hair myself but I did pretty good to only be 14 years old . It’s been a whole year since my big chop and I’m sooo glad I did it . My curls are amazing 😍. #GoNatural
BIG CHOP!!!! I just did mine yesterday and though i should have went to a professional i wanted to do my own chop because its something i wanted to feel good about. i cant wait to see where it takes me.
i big chopped in 2016 bc of heat damage and color damage. i felt so liberated but at the same time i was depressed and felt ugly. but now my hair has grown so much and is much more healthier than before. i did get a little bit more of heat damage due to having leave out on my sew in but it’s not that bad. every time it’s time for a trim more of that heat damage goes away so i’m not to worried about it. i also dyed my hair this reddish copper brown color and i’m taking good care of it so i won’t get further more damage
Came out really cute! Especially after you got the ends evened out. Chopped Off all of mine again after 9yrs [almost 10yrs] of wearing my natural hair long. Did a Chop back then too.
Beautiful job! I did a semi medium trim. The breakage was so awful! I'm going to keep my hair moisturized, see how much it can grow. In July I will go to a professional.
I did my big chop in 2014 and it was the best decision I ever made. I actually learned how to do and take care of my hair. Much from South Carolina baby girl, you look amazing.
I did three big chops, the first one I was discouraged bc the stylist was trying to talk me out of it and others refused to do it! The second one I felt liberated and I buzzed and was so happy with it but I had people tell me I looked better before and whatever but you couldn’t tell me anything 😭 and the third time I had to because of this position I had and my hair was dyed purple and I dyed it brown but it was limp and lifeless. My hair flourished after that but it was hard growing it out 😭and I dyed it again 😂 might do another buzz this summer! This looks great on you!
Very cute!! I big chopped 6 years ago and I didn't embrace it at all (too busy worried about other people's opinions and reactions). So I'm thinking of doing a second one. This was definitely inspiring :) Looking forward to viewing your hair journey!
daintyblue3 I can totally understand. So many have been supportive NOW that I cut it. But prior to me cutting, I got commments like “you’re going to lose followers, collaborations blah blah blah” but I know God will take care of all that. I’m embracing this cut.
Big chopped mine in December after transitioning for 14 months and that was like the best decision I have ever made . My hair is healthy now and them curls are👌
New subbie! I have fine low density hair too and just cut mine myself too! Actually I was supposed to be trimming but trimmed a little more than planned. LOL!!! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to watching your journey.
I just finished my big chop had mixed feelings right after but once i wet my hair and saw my curls i loved it i kept putting my hands through it cuz it felt so good... Lol. I have to get used to it, but overall it does make you feel free from something its a great feeling.
I felt ugly and it was not liberating, just something I had to do, as it started growing out I regained my confidence and began to enjoy my hair again.
I started my big chop last month and I kept the middle long (chin length) yesterday I cut that and I love it. No more relaxed hair for mebut now I feel like I want color, so I'll do a red rinse.
I can’t wait to do my BIG CHOP in the next 2 weeks. I am going back to natural hair and just need to get rid of my relaxed ends. I’m just scared because I have never had short hair. All my life I had long hair.
I did my big chop last yr Oct 23 and my hair is just above my nipple. I was scared first and kept holding it off but I decided to do it and I’m so glad I did
i’m glad you did the cut cuz your hair is super thin like mine and shorter looks full…. and as i always say ! it’s only hair… besides your face is beautiful so go on with your pretty self ❤😂
