Noel thank you for including audiobook, I’m a legally blind bookworm & I often rely on audiobooks to consume literature, sadly it’s a subcategory that gets forgotten, so thank you!
GIRL WE MISSED YOU AND YOUR RECS😭❤️❤️ also can we talk about how glowy and beautiful you look😍😍🔥 Edit: just finished reading Viola Davis' "finding me" and it was the best start of this year tbh✨
Because you're a lover of short story collections, I wanted to mention 'Things we don't tell the people we love' by Huma Qureshi. The stories in this collection always focus on women and their relationships - it can be with a husband, a daughter, a mother-in-law. Each story is really emotional, sincere and relatable..I was completely captivated. This book deserves more love ❤️
This sounds so good! If you haven't heard of it, you might also like Things We Say in the Dark by Kirsty Logan. It's a collection of short stories based on women's fears. It's a phenomenal collection and her writing is gorgeous
I found “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” at a thrift store the other day in perfect condition for $1! I was waiting for the paperback but obviously I couldn’t pass up the deal. So excited to read it.
Remarkably Bright Creatures is such a good story. Nothing earth shattering, but you care very much about the characters. If you listen to the audiobook, the voice of the octopus makes the whole story. 🙂
Remarkably bright creatures was the first book I read in 2023 and it was just spectacular. It’s a story family, grief and love. It’s a beautiful portrait of how a friendship can change one’s life. You will love it for sure!
The Marriage Portrait was stunning! It really takes up the space of all those pages and sinks you into a lush, descriptive, lyrical reimagining of the life of this girl who gets married off at 15. She's a painter, so a lot of the descriptions are from her eyes and she's such an insightful, intelligent main character. You can't help but to root for her. Basically, pick it up immediately because I think you'll love it!
Finished The Marriage Portrait last week. It was pure magic. I also knew nothing of 1500s Italy but put my faith in Maggie O’Farrell and I was NOT disappointed. Definitely run! don’t walk to read this book. ❤
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow is epic and stunning. So good. Highly recommend. But I understand, I’m a paperback girly. Newest addition: New Animal by Ella Baxter
as someone who recently read tomorrowx3 and already considered it one of her all time favorites, i think you should wait for the paperback! you deserve a reading experience that will let you devour it and really sink into it the way that works best for you!! i totalllyyyy get the fomo but what YOU get out of the book as a reader won't change from waiting a few months for the paperback.
Noelle, you're amazing. Thank you so, so much for just how great you are. I've been watching your channel for years and I consistently find comfort in how genuine you continue to be. I'm blushing ever hue of red from your kind words. I hope you love the book!! The tubes is always happy when you're here!!!
Noelle, just wanna drop by n’ say i missed u like crazy!❤ Sending positive vibes to one of my favourite people here . Couldn’t believe my eyes for good 4-5 seconds that it was u. Love u!
Remarkably Bright Creatures: I'd recommend it for fans of Frederik Backman, esp if you liked Man Called Ove. It's one of those cozy, quirky stories that centres a lot on families/community
I have to say, I have missed your videos so much! You were my comfort RU-vidr during the pandemic and you still bring me so much joy to watch. Thank you from a very appreciative subscriber ❤
The Island of Sea Women is one of my favorites. It was such an amazing story and when I finished the book, I hugged it to my chest. Ahhhhh, it was so good!
SO EXCITED to see a new video today! I started reading fiction last summer and you’re the first booktuber I found and I ended up reading 40 books last year!
Thanks for not quiting on us Noelle! I had my best reading year ever last year, both in numbers and in 5-star reads, and quite a few of those were your recommendations! So thank you for sharing your wonderful enthusiasm of reading books! 💚🧡💜❤💖💕💙💛💕
The Marriage Portrait was amazing! I went into it knowing nothing about the history and it was so interesting and I loved sinking right into it! Totally worth your time. I gave it five stars ^_^
My face when you said you'd not read any Moshfegh...!!! I've read every one and she's an incredible writer. I'd have to say Death in her Hands and My Year of Rest & Relaxation are her best
Just finished ‘The Rose Code’ by Kate Quinn. It was so exciting; I purchased book from kindle and listened to it on Libby. I find books about Bletchley Park and code breakers during the war fascinating!
My Sister the Serial Killer is so good! I read it physically so I am not sure about the audio book, but the story itself is so fascinating. I cannot wait to hear what you think about that one.
East of Eden is a masterpiece. I read it maybe 10 years ago and have been seeing it recommended by a few booktubers recently, so I’m going to re-read it in 2023. I have Lapvona pre-ordered in paperback (I’m not into hardbacks - controversial! 😁) and can’t wait to get stuck in. Thanks for another great video ❤️
Noelle, I live for your book hauls and recs because we have the SAME EXACT TASTE and I love you for it! 🤣 You don’t know how much this gives me life!!! Keep going!
If you're going to check out Bitter I would also suggest Pet. The student in Bitter is actually the mother from Pet. The audiobook for Pet is also wonderful!
I just read a play by Martin Mcdonagh called “The Pilllowman” which was absolutely fantastic! I’ve loved his movies for a long time but now I want to read all his plays 😊
I NEED the kindle unlimited videooooo! just started the free 2 months and i'm having anxiety just by looking at all the options, so i need recommendations before i lock myself up in my room reading everything for months 😂
East of Eden is so so good and so readable and has maybe the best villain I've ever read 👀Also being able to comment on another booktubers vid and buddy read something with them is #goals hahah -- this is such a sexy book haul
seeing you in my subscription box is always an absolute JOY. you look so so beautiful!! 💌 also, id DIEEEE for a KU romance reading vlog. 😩 im in the exact same boat with you about Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow! the international paperbacks ive seen are so gorgeoussss so im just waiting patiently
i finished the marriage portrait yesterday and i can absolutely recommend this book to you! it was incredible and is going to live in my head for a long time. once again a truly beautiful work by maggie o'farrell❤
Literally just started the video but I had to stop to say I'm OBSESSED with Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. It was my first read of the year after a heavyyy reading slump for all of January. I read it in a couple days while in between classes because I just couldn't put it down. Someone said it had the vibes of a little life in terms of character development and compelling friendships. BUT it's definitely less traumatic and less trigger warnings. I can't wait for you to read it and get your thoughts
I literally saved this video to watch at the end of my day, took a long shower, made some popcorn and lamonade, and here I am watching it at the maximum state of cozyness. Thanks Noelle, thank you.
Oh and i’ve also read The Marriage Portrait, one of my favorite books of 2022. I still think about it at least weekly: such a powerful story and so lyrical
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow is SOO worth it. I’m not a person who annotates usually but I wanted to annotate the living daylights out of that book
Hey Noelle! Glad to see you back on here. I really liked Seed by Ania Ahlborn on KU, a fast-paced horror/thriller I could not put down. It touches on religion and Puritanism, the human nature, and really dark family dynamics. The audio book is included btw
I had a good time with my sister, the serial killer as an audio book! It’s a quick and intriguing listen. Exploring the sister relationship through our main characters perspective and stream of consciousness is captivating. The dark humor is what really ties it all together. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
Welcome back Noelle, you look GORGEOUS! My most recent purchase is The Candy House hardback and I really want to get my hands on Cleopatra and Frankestein. Have a romantic February ❤️
Just listened to my very first audiobooks last month and I think it’s going to be a good way to start enjoying all the memoirs that have been on my TBR forever. Listened to I’m Glad My Mom Died which was so quick and a great read. Also listened to Daisy Jones & The Six since it’s coming out on Prime Video and LOVED it. So glad I listened to every rec that recommended the audiobook over the physical book for that one; it really really helped with the interview format especially having a full cast. I could not stop listening to it, it was just such a wonderful experience. Now looking for more audiobook recs!
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is absolutely worth prioritizing. It was one of my best books of 2022 and it might have earned a place in my top 10 favorite books ever. The Island of Sea Women looks great
"My Year of Rest and Relaxation" is one of my favorites book from all times. IN Ottessa WE TRUST, you're gonna love and adore her. I'm sure about that!
