My First Day in The PHILIPPINES! First Impressions (I Love It Here!) 🇵🇭 

Having lived here in the UK for 30 years I'm sad to say I had lost the trait of saying hello to complete strangers. It was refreshing to be able to do so when at last I was able to go home to Philippines.

A lot of vloggers from different countries started their vlogging journey in the Philippines because they knew the people were active on the internet and their subscribers would skyrocket easily. I'm hoping that you came to the Philippines not just for the views or to earn more subscribers from Filipinos, but to see deeply the beauty of experiencing the Philippines. Filipinos see other Americans or white people (from first-world countries) higher than their fellow Filipinos; it's sad but true. That's why you will see them most of the time smiling and being nice to you. However, I hope you enjoy staying in the Philippines!

Going to Philippines is a good choice. Im sure that your subs will soar to the top. Filipinos are friendly just dont be shy to ask them what is the best and where is the best etc. By asking them, it gives you a hint of the place that you're into.

Mabuhay, thanks for not skipping Manila, with all its organized chaos, it is a Megacity with a vibe. You are in the stretch of Ayala Avenue , Makati City. Fun fact the avenue is the first wall street of Asia, Makati is Central Business District.

I love the fact how friendly you are and you at least try to speak the basic Tagalog to interact with locals. Awesome :) enjoy!

Filipinos are generally friendly and were known for being hospitable, but still be very careful esp when travelling to other cities and places. Cebu and Bohol is a must, glad to know youre going to cebu / bohol. Kuya from earlier mentioned Boracay and Palawan another must visit places here. But theres gonna be next time for everything. You can check out the Manila-American cemetery for some very beautiful, historical site in BGC, Taguig. Just be discreet with your camera upon entering, they usualy allow people to take photos / cameras but only for personal use, anyway, they will not it anyway so yea you can take videos while in the site.

Miss Makati. Most of my childhood and teenage years living there... You'll find that it is so different from all the other cities. If you're a city person, you wouldn't want to leave Makati. I guess it's the nostalgia... it's true, there's really no place like home. And you're so spot on... Whenever I'm in the UK, I only eat Indian food. It's the best food I could find in London lol! If you want a feel of Colonial Manila, during the Spanish occupation, go to INTRAMUROS in the Capital City of Manila (intra-within; muros-walls). Located winthin the walls of intramuros you can find Manila Cathedral (a Minor Basilica), San Agustin Church (oldest church), Fort Santuago (The seat of Spanish Govt. used by the Japanese during WW2). Outside of the walls are Luneta Park or Rizal Park (where the National hero Dr. Jose Rizal was executed via Firing Squad), and Binondo or China Town (just across the Pasig River - the Oldest Chinatown in the world). The new Man-made beach called Dolomite Beach (just beside US Embassy), the Manila City Hall, The Manila Ocean Park, Manila Museum, etc.; and DIVISORIA (the sprawling open market area where you can haggle for already cheaply priced items. FYI

Been here in the UK for more than a year now. I'm a FIlipino and i'm still trying to smile to people whenever I see them but sometimes some were just too serious to look at. Quite scary to be honest.

That’s good you are staying long in Manila some vloggers tend to skip it and go straight to the islands but the city is really nice too. Best time to be there is Christmas season so make sure to try Christmas food. Check out the malls for the decorations and of course different areas. Staying in Makati is a good starting point. Check out Eastwood, BGC (bopefully you bump into Mergim vlog he’s British who lives in BGC and knows all the good spots), Poblacion areas. The food is amazing - try everything! BGC, Makati, Ortigas are the CBD areas of metro Manila. Then there’s Intramuros (old Spanish fort) and China town (oldest in the world). Go to the Bay Area there’s a huge mall and see the ocean and sunset. Lots to do in Manila before heading to the beaches

visit tagaytay which is like a 2hr drive south of manila and visit picnic grove, book a day tour of masungi geo reserve 1hr east of manila, lots of places/beaches to visit north and south of manila i recommend you rent a car and drive around, stay safe and don't hesitate to talk to locals

many buildings or skyscrapers in makati were built in the 70s or 80s whereas in BGC (taguig), they're built around the year 2000+ that's why, skyrise buildings in BGC were "ultramodern" compared to makati

Karyoka is fried rice balls they have variety of fillings from cheese to mashed sweet mung beans.

I aappreciate you actually learned a lil tagalog b4 you came here. Just to help with your pronunciation. For females you say Ate (ah-tay). Im staying in the same area for vacation. If you wanna check out a spot tonight go to the corner of general luna and makati ave. Across from the Wendys its a venue covered with tent canopies. They have some street food vendors and its a Friday so they might have some live entertainment. Also if you’re feeling adventurous theres a balut vendor by the entrance 😂

I recommend visiting the provinces like Cebu, Siargao, Boracay. Very beautiful, relaxed and worth the journey. Life can be stressful in the busyness of Metro Manila.

Well done in using Tagalog words. You’re almost there, we just need to tweak a few of your delivery, intonations, and pronunciations. 1.)salamat is pronounced as sa•la•mat. These are the intonations and it’s delivered in a slow but steady way instead of what you are doing in this video sala•mat and delivered quite fast. It’s like “saaalaaamaaat” 2.) also in pinoy, the letter A is pronounced differently to Western pronunciation which is pronounced by elongating your mouth horizontally while Filipinos elongate their mouths vertically when saying the letter A. The bottom line is that Tagalog is not nasally, it comes from the diaphragm. That is achieved by stretching your mouth vertically when speaking in Tagalog, also when in doubt, slow your delivery and drag the “A”s especially.

the bananas in the banana que is a cultivar of bananas called "saba" that was developed in the Philippines through successive selective breeding. it's thicker and starchier and can be used for cooking. it is now available in other countries but it was developed in the Philippines

Greenbelt mall has some nice shops and a beautiful garden and located on makati ave. Walking alot around in manila so when I see a 7-11 i go in to buy water and get cooled down. Try go to pasay not as fancy as makati and the people are so friendly as you seen already. You should try filling station restaurant.

if your not sure where u are or what's the next direction you can freely ask anyone but vendors and security guards are usually the people who is safe to ask. They will help but if the person you will ask is a bit older, talk slow in english so they can fully understand you with your accent. Travel safe, welcome in the philippines ❤
