I live in Massachusetts and my local Walmart doesn't have greeters anymore, they have Walmart harassment security that want to check your receipt when you are trying to leave.
They ask to see my receipt and I say "no thanks". If they have suspicion of my steeling, they can take me into the loss prevention office. So, I've come into your business, purchased items, and now you want to harass me and suspect that I'm a thief? They've got cameras everywhere, they can watch the monitors.
@@bill944 lol... people walk out with stolen items all the time. You obviously have never stolen anything. It’s to look like you buy an item and then just walk out with it. They are there to check everyone’s receipts because people walk out with stolen items. And honestly it creates a lot more jobs for people as it doesn’t require a lot of experience to look at receipts. Stop making their jobs harder.
@@irisssa333 For what purpose? To check the accuracy of the register? See if there are items in your bag not on the receipt? Or because they're fascinated by little pieces of paper. No disrespect, they are doing it specifically for the purpose of seeing if you have stolen merchandise. There is no other reasonable explanation. I know it's their job but for what purpose?
Love this Stephi! I'm a van lifer too, and just a word of caution about sleeping on busy streets: it can be really dangerous because drunk drivers or people going too fast could easily slam into you while you're sleeping. I know parking was difficult there, but for your safety it's so much better to sleep on a non-busy street. I hate giving unsolicited advice but I'm only doing it in hopes that it will make your experience safer! ♥️

My grandfather always said the cheapest thing to give to someone is a hello and when someone refuses to give you that it's a them problem & not a you problem. He also said never to pull your chair up to a table where it is not welcome. I combined those two and when someone won't say hello back to me I don't bother with them ever again. It's not a revenge thing. I simply choose not be hurt by it and I choose not to fluster myself by continuing to try with them ever again. The only thing I’d add to that is to maybe please consider that some are hearing impaired. I’m writing this cause I myself am. Sometimes friend will tell me ‘Hey, I saw you at the bar (or some other noisy environment) and I said hi, but you ignored me’. My close friends know that it’s cause I didn’t hear them. So maybe consider that. That said... If someone’s being a jerk and clearly heard you but didn’t respond? Yep-good riddance to bad trash.
It's weird seeing the highway through Virginia, Tennessee and into NC in vlog. Most people I watch are on the west coast or upper east coast and seeing roads and places I've driven past and through several times is kinda cool lol.

I feel like you probably have done the research on this, but just in case not: there are websites/apps for RVers that can help you find places you’re allowed to stay overnight. Not all Walmart’s allow it based on other travelers I’ve seen on RU-vid.

I spent a lot of time traveling the country and living out of a car and tent. VA is an AMAZING state to travel in. Beautiful mountains, forests, and waterfalls. Some of the best car camping I ever found was in VA. Most people are friendly, but in some towns they are weird. NC is a beautiful state.

But I think we can trust Stephie is a well-traveled adult and certainly brave enough to read a comment like that and practically take from it what is helpful, and not let it fill her with dread. Have a little faith, friend. Also, I think his point is important to consider since there are enough true stories I've heard in the news to back it up. He seems to use a bit of hyperbole, but it's rooted in fact and is worth noting for saftys sake.
@@guywittamic it’s not that stephi can’t handle it, saying stuff like this affects the subconscious mind. People who project fear into strangers and more likely to do it to their kids and loved ones. “Don’t climb the tree, you will hurt yourself” for example. It creates a ripple affect and makes children and others more fearful and anxious. Overall, it’s good to be there for someone, but you should be there for them in a positive way.

I left home at 15... Haven't looked back... I've traveled all over the place and don't think I'll ever stop... If you can ever get over to hawaii, I believe you would love the van life community there... So great.

I agree. I'm a very "normal" looking woman. Natural hair color, no visible tattoos, no piercings. People act the same to me. I'm always chatting people up being all friendly and I feel like I bother people. But I do it anyway because you never know who needs it!

I agree about the sun setting and rising while driving. I remember last summer traveling from California to Kentucky and when the moon was rising it was red orange. And by the time it was high in the night sky it was the color everyone sees normally. Every time the sun was setting I would pretend I was in the movie Dracula when they were trying to get to the castle before sundown. I know crazy. But deep thoughts while on the driving..haha. I'm not sure if you remember me but I told you about my cousin with CF & I wanted to let you know that unfortunately the double lung transplant she had 3 years ago rejected & she passed on. She was 20. I've been having a really hard time dealing with her death but it's been nice seeing how awesome it's been going for you & although my little cousin has passed on, I find comfort in your videos & seeing how well you're doing. I traveled the country for 13 years, a place I returned to several times was Boulder colorado. You should go there to the pearl street Mall. Then go up to the Nederland above Boulder. I like that you played allen watts. Have fun out there, there are so many wonderful places.
