It is my first time in India celebrating Diwali and this year Kali Puja falls on the same date! So of course I had to head out into the city of Kolkata to experience these festivities.

Happy Diwali ❤✨ where did everyone celebrate?
@sunny-tg3uo
actually in other parts of India it is called Deepavali including kolkata. but in North India people make every name shorter and so there they call it Diwali.

Next time someone says women are oppressed in India, tell them about Kali or Durga, Godess of destruction, Saraswati, Godess of knowledge, Lakshmi, Godess of wealth and prosperity. We Indians worship women in the form of these Godesses. No doubt there are evil people in India too like any other place but that too is not significant considering India has over 1.4 billion population. I said "we Indians worship" just in general, there are different religions here and they have different faiths and beliefs too and mostly everyone respect eachothers faith, excluding some fringe elements. From where I come from people across all religions participate happily in celebrating each other's festivals. Be it Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Christmas or Eid. Unity in diversity is generally the norm in India.

I remember my grandfather used to talk about his visit to Calcutta in the 70's, every time a party ''In Norway'' got out of hand he would say it's nothing compared to the Calcutta railway station XD. Keep it up! 100!

Kolkata is truly the City of Joy, I spent four best years of my life in Kolkata. The city is full of warmth, joy, culture, and rich heritage where no one is an outsider. Also, you should not miss the Dussehra festival of Mysore, Karnataka. During Dusshera the whole city is beautifully decorated with light and it is a sight to see in the night

Happy diwali to hindus

In Bengali there is a proverb i.e. "BARO MASHE TERO PARBON" means in 12 months of a year there are 13 celebrations. So in 12 months of a year you can celebrate more than one festival every month. In Sanatani a person can feel the life's journey in every step of it's stay in this world.

You’re not supposed to use your left hand…I’m surprised no one instructed you on this…..ask about the use of left hand and Right hand while you’re in India……love your vids….enjoyed the one with your mom to Rishikesh……❤️🇺🇸

@sayanmandal1289
I wish you would have come earlier, during Durga Puja tho it's also big but Districts are famous for Kali pujo and Kolkata is famous for Durga Puja, and during Christmas also it's the only city in India which celebrates every festival and pujas and it's visible, also if you come during Ramadan it's very foody time during night. And we also have Jagadhatri pujo few weeks later. One sentence we have in Bengali is 'Baro mase tero parbon' means in 12 months we have 13 festival (actually more) .😊❤ Always attractive videos 🎉.
