So every time I watch another of your videos I think to myself “THIS. This is my favorite thing ever!” However, this time I am SURE of it, THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING EVER!!
I hope you get to monetize eventually... watching you and Thom be comfy in Oodies for the past few videos led to me buying myself an early birthday present.
Oooh I have a tip for saving your shoulder next time you need to make an armature. You get a couple of pieces of wire of the right length and chuck them into a drill, then hold the other end with pliers while using the drill to turn it. This twists it up beautifully and quickly!
@@ashbentley oh nooo I couldn’t save you in time. Your hands. Your shoulders!!!! I pray for them 😂😂 I’ve got physical disability issues so hacks like that help immensely!!
I have been trying and failing to make a yarn wig for months (well, mostly thinking of trying but having no idea how without a wig base, which I did not want to use) and you have finally given me the inspiration to make my yarn wig! Awesome job on the cosplay!
I vote for more Alf. How old is gentle giant? And any other tidbits of Alf info. I love watching your thought process. It's a hoot. Hugs from Virginia, USA - Pam K
Thank you Pam! ❤️ Alf is 11 (I think!) so he's getting into his retirement years now. He is the gentlest, most kind boy, who loves nothing more than a cuddle nap on the couch. He loves chicken and steak, so every year for his birthday & Christmas we make him up a fancy meal - which he wolfs down in about 1/3 of a second 😂
I don't know if you know about card weaving - that's how the original belt is done. I would like to see your face, when you see the original process. XDDD It's difficult and extremely time comsuming. You made pretty good job to mimic the belt. :)
Ohh I think I've seen Morgan Donner do card weaving - it looks absolutely mind boggling! I thought drawing the design on the belt took ages haha. Thank you :)
i love your cosplay, i'm a huge fan of Heilung, and Maria is incredible !! just if i can say, the belt and the head piece are not embroyed, this is cardweaving . realy good jod with your cosplay
I'm so sad that I wasn't able to see them live when they came out here!! 100% a life goal to see them in person. One day :) And thank you!! I really appreciate that ❤️
My plan: put on a cozy video while i pack What happened: zero packing, couldnt look away cause when i did i missed the slow mo hair flip 😂 This turned out really cool!
Amazing! A great cosplay, great problem-solving, and if you ever need to spice up a meal, you can dip any part of your costume in some water and get some flavor!
Alf's tail is like a barometer! He's so cute. My sister's dna profile shows us to be northern European, so consider me your cousin. If you want some good music, look up the nordic roots albums. Lot's of cool music to be had. I've seen Heilung, not in person, videos... And if you're not careful you'll end up watching Mongolian throat singing... Your re-creation turned out wonderful! I loved the reveal, although poking your head up from behind the log had me in stitches. Not ethereal...😅. Oh lord, the rest was good. I can imagine doing this with anyone I know and we might literally die laughing. Good times! Great project. I remember back in school having a chance to do card weaving and when I saw how many cards were needed, I opted for clay or something. I've always regretted that decision. And I still haven't bothered to try card weaving. Bah! Good day!
...and now you've got the gears in my head turning, as I was thinking about doing a male Heilung... Okay, truth be told, I already was, but I kept putting off watching your video until I had a plan, but curiosity finally got the best of me and I just watched your video... 🤪 🖤🦇
@@ashbentley I'm having a bit of trouble finding any good images of the male band members, but I'm no quitter! 🤭 I'll just make something up, if I gotta! 🧐 🖤🦇
Heilung is a great band, love their music. I had been thinking of making her belt and head band, I bought my inklette loam a while back so I could make the belt 😹😹if I ever find the time from all my other hobbies😹😹 Must admit you nailed the outfit well done. Just a tip so that you can see through the head piece if you trim a mm of each off the fringes it will still cover your face but should also give you just enough to see through them. I use to live at Footscray 40 years ago 😹I forgot how much the weather could change in one day down there, I live in QLD now, near Yelarbon State Forrest 😹where is boiling hot during the day and freezing cold at night😹😹😹😹 It’s great seeing an Aussie making a go of it on RU-vid 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽so I subbed looking forward to seeing more from you in the future 🤗🤗
Thank you so much for the kind comment! That’s a great tip for the mask, I’ll probably do that next time I wear it :) Good luck with the belt, it looks like a mammoth task.
The headpiece she wears looks like it's actually a section of deer skull with the horns. You might need to make a base for the horns to connect to and support... Leaving this comment at the beginning of the video lol
@2:40 don't know if this helps till you get a proper canvas head, but you can get a cheap styrohead from a craft store, take your own measurements of your head and bulk it up with plastic bags and tape. it helps in a pinch.
Thank you!! I have a personal vendetta against styrofoam 😂 I'd like to avoid it at all costs, if I can! I think I'm going to order the wooden one, turns out the mic shield wasn't a great head shape 😂😂
