You look great, Lana! I relate to what you've said about your identity being wrapped up in your hair. I feel like if I make any adjustments or fun changes, then folks will assume that I don't love myself for who I am... But so many women change their hair and have fun! I feel like so long as hair dye and styles (straightening etc.) are a choice and not an expectation (workplace "professionalism" forcing black women to straighten their hair) then folks should be able to have fun and do what they want!

I just colored my hair after 10 years of natural everything. Its taken 2 months for the color to settle into one i really love. I totally get you. Your hair looks great, you're one of my favorite curly hair channels. ❤ keep up tne great work.

Your hair looks great! I do know how you feel about changes. I'm in my 50s and have done some things to my hair, but now I'm attached to my natural curly hair and don't want to touch it because its in the best condition. Also OMG you have a book!! I'm buying that right now.

I was like that a few years ago. I just bit the bullet and dyed my hair blue and layer that year chopped it to just below my collar bone. Since then it's grown and I still dye it crazy colors all the time even after 4 years. You're not alone in the feeling!

It looks great! Can you do a separate video on how you prepared urself b4 the cut & color- like did u went to the salon with no products, dirty hair? Things like that. Also tell us how are you adopting with having color on ur hair- is your wash & go (styles) easier or difficult? Thank you so much for ur videos & happy holidays!

You should have got a curly cut instead of this, that’s why you lost so much length. Also the brush styling is so overdone it doesn’t look great you can tell it’s brushed styled heavily. Your curls would do the same but more naturally no need to be so heavy handed
