This is a little recap of the post production process for my latest short film, Home Position. The highlights for me were definitely the recording session where my friend Glenn scored the short on the drums. Post process is always a big process, and I'm happier with some parts of the edit than others, but most of all I'm glad it's done.

I LOVE THIS! It's fascinating to see what goes on in your mind, how the decisions are made and what that does to the final work product. The amount of thought that went into this 'short' is crazy, but the end product is so intentional (and good).

The struggle is real. When you are that deep in a project and attempting to create something that you've imagined, it's difficult to look past the flaws that are obvious to you, and probably just you. The short was great and something that everyone involved should be proud of, Glenn absolutely crushed that score! Wouldn't have been as engaging with stock music.

Haha totally. I think it's a bit of harsh, internal creative audit thing in my head to think about what you saw how it differed and how you can get it closer next time... And, yeah! Glenn killed it!

You maybe could have shot a few minutes of the second hand, speed it ups, and overlayed with the watch that now has no second hand? Could it work?

Totally... I could have added it in after effects as well, but it'd just be so fast in reality I don't think you'd see it anyways! All the audience needs to see is those two hands I think... like if you drew a cartoon clock you'd only draw two hands...

Excellent as always loved the Jazz. Oh yea just a little FYI: Do you know how Barber Shop Quartets started? Barbers were the town surgeons in the 18 and early 1900's. So when a barber was sawing off an arm or a leg they hired singers to sing out front of the shop so people couldn't hear the screams coming from his shop. You're welcome or sorry. 😁
