💚💚💚I know editing is not your favorite thing, but thank you for the time you spent on creating this content! I also love watching you just “get the job done” Thank you for being you and sharing!
I love the style of the hanging baskets. Would look pretty with lights for the holidays. I just can’t get over you wearing fleece still! It’s so damn hot and dry here in GA!
I love these types of video, I find them very restful not a lot of chatter or science projects and pleasant music. The three hanging baskets are adorable. I've noticed lately that many garden videos are so loud (maybe I'm getting old?) I end up turning off unless it has something of interest to me. Thank you for your videos and your free style of gardening.
I used to think I was behind now I don’t STRESS about because it takes the JOY out of gardening for me. I’m more creative in my garden enjoying my pace with PEACE and JOY. Your ideas and videos are a pleasure to watch.
Love that trio and such a great idea to add a container or hanging baskets to an area that needs some interest! And boy, did that willow ever get a nice makeover! 😍🌳
Started planning a shade garden last year. I call it the rust garden because I use Rusty containers. I have an old fire pit so you've inspired me to convert the fire pit into a planner. It actually had a top which I'm going to convert into a hanging basket of shade plants. Thanks for the idea
No editing necessary! Love the hanging & ground baskets & also the hostas! I'm in AZ where they're never going to be living in this part if the world!😮
Seeee THIS is where a greenhouse or cold frame and heater come in. I overwinter baskets and have had some of the same plants going for years. During winter they live in a DIY structure made using old windows and doors. The baskets are gorgeous!
Thanks I’m very zen also. I have many plants that still need to be planted. Also I’ve about reached my limit in my cottage garden. So I’m moving to the back yard.
Long-time follower, Erin, and I love your channel! ❤ I also love the gorgeous color of your hoodie. But *how* are you wearing a sweatshirt in July???!!! 😮 I'm watering my garden right now in northern California at 7:30pm, and it's still 110°! Truthfully, your gardens and your approach to landscape gardening is so down-to-earth, relaxing, and inspiring. Thank you for keeping it real, making us laugh, and giving us great ideas! 😊
Those baskets are amazing! I’m with you, they work together as one collective piece. And damn do they really draw your attention to that area! Very very cool idea! You rock, as always 😁
Seems to be the year of the "Zen Approach" as TECHNICALLY my garden is behind where it was in previous years, but I'm enjoying it by doing what I can / when I can. CHEERS!
Love the hanging planters and repurposed fire pit. I use the Sucker Punch on my crabapple tree. Do you know of anything that works 100% of the time for suckers.
I have that tiny green (succulent) tradescantia. I've been trying to figure out what it is for years. This past year it grew like crazy. I called it "Cousin IT".
Hi Erin! Thanx for another inspirational video ❤ love the hanging baskets for shady locations, I wasn’t supposed to do hanging baskets this year ( lack of sunny spots) but you’ve just made me change my mind 😅 Would love to see an update on those containers ( all of them actually). Your zen-like-attitude is very refreshing, thank you! And thanx again for taking your time on editing and making content, please keep them coming, I’ve seen every single one and kelp playing “mix “ of your channel multiple times in the evenings. My hubs (not a gardening type) even enjoys that, your sense of humor especially😊happy gardening!
That tiny tradescantia is one that I grew in 1971- or possibly one that is its very close cousin. Of course, we didn't call it tradescantia back them! You could buy it everywhere in my SE Texas area.
Hi Erin, I’m a huge fan of containers and these are fantastic. I particularly love the ferns and the bossa nova begonias. I use them every year, but have to get them online. I have never seen the paprika/papyrus (?) before. Did you get them online, and, if so, where? I’m waiting for a Terrain sale! Thank you.
LOVE your channel! I've never had any luck with containers. I get some as gifts, but by mid season most flowers have suffered and i disassemble them and plant the best bits. I can't help but notice that you have lots of clematis. I adore them (currently I have 12). Do you ever get clematis wilt? Everything I've read says theres no cure. I just do alot of cutting.
I really need to get my rear out of the chair and pull weeds. 😂😂😂😂😂. It’s really hot here where I am, and my desire to be out is very low! Love the begonias…. I may try them again next year
Those hanging baskets are so fun! The actual containers and the plants you chose! How do the deer handle the spherical cages/obelisks? Do they stick their heads in there to eat?
Kumara or sweet potatoes are eaten heaps here in NZ. They like sandy, well composted, friable soil, (similar to potatoes)and heaps of blood and bone. The Maori chuck fish heads and bone carcasses into the soil, before planting but blood n bone will do..... the size is massive at harvesting time. Just thought this might help, Jo😊
I would plant some calendula or lemon marigolds in your vege gardens to confuse pests and bring in pollinators. Tom's like to be with peppers and basil. Corn and beans do well together as the corn is a stake for beans. Companion planting saves water, weeding and reduces pests...I've forgotten alot but thought this might help. Jo😊
Lots of flowers in the veg garden already (four full beds of them plus in the corners of every veg bed and the in-ground edges). I’m more of a plant partners believer rather than companion planting person but there is some overlap there. The important thing is to do what works for you in your garden.
My thistles have bloomed and have the whispy stuff (don't know what's called) that the yellow finches like to use to make their nests. Now if I only had the finches in my yard!!
A hanging basket trick is to put a diaper or menstrual pad at the bottom of your basket. It will hold the moisture and not dry out so fast. It works. 😂
Love the hanging baskets! It is great to have a punch of color in the shade! I would think they were a trick to hang. Very cool look. What were you tying sweet peas up with?
Never knew about Sucker Punch...great tip! So satisfying to see other gardeners little big jobs get completed 🌱 That small shovel spade seems practical.
I have never been a fan of hanging baskets. Live in Iowa and I have NO watering system, just me. Hanging baskets just do NOT seem to survive for long. But MY OH MY OH MY THOSE ARE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. 🎉❤❤❤
Per your reference for Sebrings Gardens in Oregon, I made a big purchase ( I live in Spokane Wa) the plants came quickly, nicely packed and nice plants. thanks for the recommendation.
I Love your garden I would drive up to Wisconsin to see one of your tours. Erin, are they open to the public? I would love to see how close you are to Lake Michigan. Thanks for the great videos.
Great baskets- they reflect your style very well. I don’t normally lean towards orange, but that’s a great shade esp in that spot. I also love they are mostly greenery, w/orange more an accent to catch the eye
Long three-stand (cheap) line from high-up branches. We throw weighted feeder lines up until we get the right branch and then run the line we want to hang them from.
Oh I will add that to the links, and yes it is probably the tool I use the most simply because I'm always carrying it around. It's the Sneeboer Great Dixter Planting Spade. You can find it at Garden Tool Company or Gardenheir online.
