Congrats on the new guitar purchase Joe! It's the sound, playability and enjoyment to your ears that are the most important thing to us guitar owners. As long as you're happy, I'm happy for you! Now we can finally focus on becoming a better guitar player which is the goal for most of us GAS addicts! Haha!
A couple of years ago I bought the Martin 000X1 which is a slightly smaller version of DX2E. Out of my 10 budget acoustics it is my favorite. I t sounds great and records well. The bass sounds are pronounced. You going to love playing it. It’s still a Martin. The X1 doesn’t have electronics and was discontinued days after I bought mine.
it's a great value and especially for the deal of the day, Musician's Friend crushes it in the sales dept. I love that the newer X-Series have finally returned solid wood parts to the fold - this is a must considering the rest of the guitar is HPL back and sides. At least those wood pieces are resonating together to make a better sound. I guarantee yours sounds better than the ones previous that came with Richlite fingerboards and heavy laminated tratobond necks. Sounds nice plugged in to - good get!
Congrats Joe! I've been looking at these hpl (X) acoustics and am being won over by the durability & the sound from the non-wood body. Half-way through my 'no-NGD' year...so lots of research going on here.
Congratulations Joe. That guitar sounds wonderful. I don't have an acoustic guitar at the moment. I did have a D'Angelico Premier Gramercy LS acoustic, but just could not bond with it. If it would have sounded like yours, maybe I'd keep it.
Great sounding guitar! Looks like there might be a ding on the treble side of the neck near the 2nd fret, unless it's an optical illusion. If so, you may be able to steam it out.
Hi Joe: Always love and watch your videos. I have a question but its not about the Martin and not sure how to get it to you since you have reviewed both these guitars a while ago... Maybe you can help I am looking at buying a Tease ST-1 or a Donner DST200. Which do you prefer both are inexpensive about the same $
Hey Jym. My personal choice would be the Donner DST200. But honestly Jym, I would just buy a Squier Debut strat. Absolutely loving mine. not trying to hate but you really should look into the yamaha red label series. better qc control than martin and you get a solid wood guitar at 1/3 the price and it's just as good.
@@AJgeartalk the made in chinas which are just as good as the made in japan versions start at 849. yeah it's twice as much but that's not that much when were talking a few hundred dollars to get a solid wood guitar with equal or superior craftsmanship to what you'd get to mexican martins that have laminated sides and back. try one out next time you're at a guitar store.
