When you see carbs like this being refurbished, doesn’t it make you marvel at the engineering that goes into any motorcycle & or vehicle? Most people either just jump on their bikes & ride, without any contemplation of how it works or drop it off to their mechanic for a service, then back on it! 👏🏼👍🏼😎🇦🇺

That's a lot of carb pieces on the work bench. Good job. I can't wait to see you riding that bike. The "bottle top" style carbs on the 1970 - 76 CB750 are way simpler and easier to work on than the 77 -78 carbs you have. You're getting a good eduction in carbs. I love my Honda CB750 four cylinder but there's something really nice about the single carb on my 64 Triumph TR6. It's so easy to take off and clean that carb.

This triggered me, only last week I stripped down my carbs and redone them, what a mess the previous owner left for me, And after all that hard work doing the carbs, replacing all the electric components I found the petrol tap to be faulty 😭 Good video, I look forward to seeing the assembly

If you can get your hands on a Mikuni carb manual, they show what the parts are and what they do; idle circuit, mid-range circuit and full throttle. There is a super convenient graph showing what part and parts of the carb are doing from idle to full throttle in a line graph so you can see how each affects the running of the engine and the transitions. Once I had read this, I was rebuilding and tuning the Mikuni's on my Polaris snowmachines by myself (waaaayy cheaper than the stealership). Only downside to carbs is their being tucked away in tight places! Good video!

It's not fun when you have to split up a bank of carbs. A good camera, photographic memory, or phone helps a lot. So sad you couldn't show 'n ride Jonesy while visiting your family. Take care and have a good time D.

It's best to use a "Proper Screwdriver" just like the ones you "Don't" have in your box. An Invaluable bit of kit. I didn't realize till after you said: "Old Parts" what you actually said, & I was wondering "where is Simon".

Well done ,,, carbs ,,once you set them up properly now ,,,you will not have to touch them again ,,carbs or not

My grandfather once told me that whole mankind basicly splits into just dwo categories: 1) Riders 2) NOTS Do everything to become and stay a rider son, just like your grandfather and father. :-D

What cleaning solution did you use Deej? I used some aluminium cleaner type stuff and it stripped the zinc on the plates and screws etc and darkened the carb housings

Should have left the brass ware, the honda stuff would have cleaned up and made it run better. All the aftermarket kits sold have too many variances and ensure that setting up will be a pig. Plus Nitrile o rings and washers would have been better than that kit you fitted. Cheaper too. Get yerself som JIS screw drivers too, rather than chewing those screws up. Just saying x
