What is it that makes this ‘ol switcheroo’ overpowered in FM ‘23?

​@@joshbacon8241the switcheroo is just drafting behind another car to take advantage of the lower air resistance to build up a speed advantage and then sling out and around, often in a corner. As to why it's so powerful here it's all about how they tuned the physics engine. This balance between where the clean air is, dirty air is and how far back they are from the car determines how well you can draft and therefore perform the switch. Forza wants action packed racing and so they likely tuned the physics to amp up the effect of effects of drafting and made it very effective. In real F1 for example it was notorious for having cars set up so the air they threw behind them was "dirty" and it basically negated the benefit of lower air resistance. However that makes it so qualifying can be everything, there were races were zero overtakes happened which is very boring to watch or race in

Now we're going to have real close races. No modified cars. Only using ability. It will be incredible.

Its early access and so the quality of racers and racing are definitely going to be higher. No one here wants to be early access community member/reviewer/tester whos ramming people, especially when everyones probably recording footage. Infact bit disappointed that @supergt did not disclose this. The Forza community will never race this well after launch.

@@corvette274 I think its important to remember too, that this game is going to have DR and SR ratings, so odds are the rammers will end up towards the bottom and (ideally) filter themselves out. Still gonna be chaos until everyone gets themselves under control, but hopefully it works.

@@corvette274 So 'the Forza community" will never race this well post-launch, but evidently DO care enough to moderate themselves during early access? Seems a bit of a stretch. Forza's problem was that it didn't separate the wheat from the chaff, which should hopefully happen now that they have rating systems like GT. If anything the quality of racing should go up as people solidify their ratings and separate themselves. Honestly, between the way MP is structured, the rating system and the penalty system, this game doesn't seem like it's going to be very fun for the prospective Forza rammer of games past.

​@@corvette274there's probably thousands of early access players RN. There's nothing inherent about Forza that attracts rammers. The penalty system is stricter than GT7. The races will be clean.

bro probably had a stick shift and left in gear. happened to me so many times, out of habit i would park my sim rig leaving it in first or R all the time.

I hope they improve it a bit though, sometimes they don't even trade paint and the system starts rolling the 'ol loading screen circle

It can be a bit hit or miss but in theory it should only get better from here

@@2Syndras1Cup I'm sure they will, lots of good examples of penalty systems for Turn10 to look to to help improve their own as well.

Yup, it seems to take into consideration if the manouver actually made the player gain time or not, not only if an infraction was committed.

Yes this. It does get a bit better once you unlock racing tires for your car. I'm just happy it feels great on my fanatec wheel after changing the settings because stock settings are terrible. That was a deal breaker for me but I'm having a blast everything actually feels really good.

wait for release , now all the people playing are hardcore car game users , they are going to be mostly fair racers thinking about penalties and focused on have great races , in 5 days millions of kids with game pass are going to make the experience worst , lets hope for some kind of safety rating based on penalties

@@NikoMoraKamu that's what the safety rating is for... Bad drivers will eventually get placed in bad driver lobbies and good drivers will be placed higher

​​@@gremlinpityeah I had a taste of it last night in the ol Bentley. It's probably not the best car but I have a soft spot for the big beast. More agile than ya might expect. The players were clean racing and the lap times were pretty close and consistent. I found the hard tyre not able to hold up for the whole race so for me the strat was hard tyre to start and when I had 3 laps to go I went soft tyres. I came 4th with only one second between myself and the guy in third who I was chasing since I got out of the pits as we passed other racers with their worn tyres. Amazing

T10 were visiting the track and when someone mentioned the old layout, they decided to include it.

I've personally never had an issue with online-only DRM since I have consistent, stable internet and don't care about singleplayer being "online". I understand why people hate it a lot since they probably don't have access to consistent internet access, and I am lucky to not have to worry about it.

​@Super_GT hey Steve I found a pretty decent set up for wheel on the fanatec forums makes the game feel great actually you should check then out if you haven't already. I played maybe 30 mins on controller but after finding that I can't play the game bow unless it's on wheel feels great now.

I agree, i love all kinds of racing games, but GTSport and GT7 had the cleanest UI out there. The forza UI looks a kinda arcade-y for a sim type racing game but its alright overall.
