This will be the first time we clean the gun on camera along with cleaning it with a new product that everyone talks about. Lets see if it is really as good as everyone says it is! Follow my IG for gun reviews: @allengarbutt
The accessary with the pointy tip is a jag. You use it to push patches through the barrel. I prefer jags over the eye patch holder. Nice job for your first cleaning!
I'll say you did a pretty darn good job of cleaning your firearm.. I would recommend a hard plastic pic to get into those hard to reach areas but other than that everything you did was good
Man I love the smell of Hoppes #9. It takes me back to when I was a kid. That was a long, long time ago. I’m 72. You’ll get your cleaning regimen down with practice. There’s only one way to do that, get the gun dirty. That means, burn powder! 😊👍🏻 PS, it’s pronounced Hop-eez #9.
Hoppe’s is a good starter kit for cleaning. I would suggest getting an Otis cleaning kit down the road. The jag (the piece with the pointy end) is probably the most important part of the kit. There’s different size jags for different sized barrels. Let the No. 9 sit for about 15 to work through the fouling and gun powder.
Cool. Solid start. For the one handgun that kit should suffice. I've personally found that the factory rod and brush is sufficient, though as you said, extras are always nice. Also, Hoppe's #9 dissolves copper and all manner of things. It irritates the skin and lungs, so I recommend a ventilated room and gloves if you have them.
Man it was strong and the room needed more ventilation. Learning experience for sure. I think I’ll just be using gloves in case as a rule until I know. Thanks for the feedback bro!
Wow, we’re you born this stupid. He said he was a new gun owner. And with the exception of needing a toothbrush to better scrub the gun, he did nothing wrong.
