@@hugo8989 Yes, the series literlay begins with Guts fucking a demon that tok the form of a beautiful woman. He then kills it while finishing his business-AFTER it revealed it's true, hideious form- and moves on.
Rafael Lopez I read it a volume every 3 to 4 months, that's how they come out in my country. Volume 16 comes out on March 7. Sometimes it hurts to wait but I know that if I catch up, the pain is going to get worse.
You missed the part at the end, where you get to the most recent chapter and tell yourself "That was awesome, can't wait to continue reading that." over a year later, no new chapters. "What the fuck!?" and the waiting game continues.
Me before Chapter 1: "Okay, this is probably gonna be overrated, but it looks pretty decent." Me after Chapter 362: "I use my Behelit to wish for more chapters."
Similar thing happened to me. "Oh new Death Battle has a character named Guts from an 90's anime called Berserk. I'll check it out. (Finishes all episodes into the night) Okay time to read the manga. (Finishes to the Lost Children Arc in one night) Step aside Game of Thrones. Berserk is the king of dark fantasy with compelling characters, politics, and nonstop bloody violence." Long story short Berserk became my favorite manga in the span of 2 days.
*Black swordsmn arc:* why the fuck is this guy so fucking angry all the time? who hurt him? why is he missing an arm and his right eye? *The rest of everything:* *GRIFFIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAATHH!!!! YOU FUCK!*
I beat Dark Souls during quarantine, realized it was inspired by Berserk, and decided to read a few chapters online to fill my day and see what the fuss was all about. Now I'm considering what kind of Berserk tattoo I want to get...
Same thing, chapter 243 only and been weeks since im deciding to make a tattoo of Berserk. I know that brand of sacrifice is so overpupular, but cmon it's fucking iconic. Planning to make it exactly like Guts, so around the neck
I was skeptical about Berserk for a very long time. I always thought "nah, i bet it's not even that good, people always exagerrate". But then i finally decided to read it and half of the manga i was just making unintelligible whale noises because IT IS. IT *IS* THAT GOOD.
i remember losing my breath and thoughts in general in the eclipse arc as a teen at 5 am in the morning , because i couldn't sleep that night , best time if my life.
@@satanpills6232 No im being serious. Im not specifically talking about rapehorse but something about Guts escaping with his former abuser, Farah while protecting her on a horse as many kinds of fantastical and demonic creatures glide by them feels so hauntingly mystical and majestic.
Nihilist Supreme I was reading over some old chapters for lols (lots of legendary slaughter) and saw that. ADULT ATTACK? I nearly lost it. The lengths Berserk goes never cease to astound me. Any way, let's look forward to Schierke and Farnese witnessing Casca's traumatic mind splitting rape.
Contrary to the eclipse though, the Lost Children chapter ended on a positive note. Eclipse just left you with pain, suffering and a huge rage boner for Griffith.
The Eclipse broke me, I had mini depression for a couple of days. After the Eclipse nothing is the same. The Lost Children didn't even make me feel a little bad after that and Rosine had it coming.
I didn't read manga before at all. After first chapter and then full week of reading berserk I start reading a lot of manga. But no manga can fill for that emptiness after finishing last current berserk chapter.
Stanley Jones each story has glorious art-style and story. Each in their own ways. One way to sum up the three in one word is... Hope, Redemption, and Philosophy.
2 hour straight? Like, you never read a book for 2 hours before? You are saying it like it's a big deal. When you can really stop reading, you read from morning till bed time.
cesverc It was like 24::30AM in the middle of the week when I began reading. And no, I read for 5 hours straight a few times in the past. And you know it is not normal to read for 16 hours straight (morning till bedtime)
Takezo Kimura that's the point: reading for 16 hours (well, let's make it 10, considering meals and pauses) is a big deal. (and trust me, it's perfeclty normal if you are completely free and there is a story you are totally invested into. otherwise, there wouldn't be people who read Berserk in 2 or 3 days). My point is: you wanted to say that Berserk was so good you couldn't stop reading, right? Then you could have said ''it kept me reading 2 hours past bedtime''. Just saying ''it kept me reading 2 hours straight'' doesn't convey your point.
I'm big fan of the anime and movies...I'm not a manga reader but I decided to take a peak at the manga months ago...I can say now I'm a reader lol. I really can't express how shitty the anime and movies are compared to the manga!
The anime is the big problem here (sometimes is gave me motion sickness, sometimes I couldnt understand what was I seeing) The golden age OVA trilogy was pretty good actually
The 97 anime was amazing, especially Hirasawa's soundtrack and it got me into the manga. And later on while reading I heard the soundtrack in my head during important scenes and it made it even better.
Loaded the firsth chapter, next thing I know, woke up 3 days later at chapter 180 something. Never in my life i've been happier wasting my life like this
And turning the entire world in an unlivable nightmare that is only safe under the wing of your city, that just so happens to be filled with an army of demons is also justified
Imagine, you stab some man in the face, it pierced through his cheek, all the way to the other side, but rather than fall, he bites down and looks at you like this. 0:27 ... What would you do?
I got introduced to Berserk by people playing Dark Souls. I got fed up with people mentioning Berserk over and over again, so I was like "Fine, what is this bullshit". Then I saw the Death battle of Nightmare vs Guts. It was like "that's pretty interesting... does this have an anim-ow okay, I'll watch the 1997 anime". Then i saw the anime, and it was pretty good, pretty good... then I breathed in and was like "mm, I guess I should read the manga. I usually don't read mangas at all, but okay." Then I read the Manga. First time in a long, long time I actually gave a fuck about a fictional human being. First time I cheered and was moved by a book too in a long time. Guts is the best. Read the entire Mangahere in Two Days straight. Fucking Awesome.
This video had me laughing not because it was funny! But because the fact is that's what reading Berserk does to you it grabs you and doesn't let go not even for a second!
Just started reading to get what all the fuss is about, wasnt really enjoying Guts as a character till the fairy saw Guts cry for the first time. That tear up just kinda made me understand everything y'know?
R.I.P. Berserk was my introduction to manga, I was hooked once I realized a literal drawing could bring chills on my spine and make me feel strong emotions.
This is literally what happened to my friend I told him to read it after he had heard about it in a while he said “You know I’m not a super big manga guy right ?” “Just…trust me ok?” He started on a Monday on Friday I was in my room chilling playing games he literally Burst into my room like an angry apostle for my soul took the controller out of my hands spin me around to face him and went “Why the FUCK!? Didn’t you tell me about this EARLIER!!!!” “Where are you at now?” I said with the biggest smile on my face “The lost children arc! This is the greatest manga……Anime….story I’ve ever SEEN!” I literally couldn’t stop smiling and just grabbed his shoulder and went “Keep reading it gets better….”
If you mentioned in the same sentence of badass charactersas as the doom slayer ,master cheff, Kiryu Kazuma, jill valentine, lara Croft, yusuke urameshi Rowanoa Zorro and Jotaro kojo your a badass I love how I keep remembering other badass characters and having to edit the list every 5 minutes
Anyone hear about how Netflix's animation director of Castlevania series(I think, correct me if I'm wrong) wants to make a Berserk adaptation that's true to the manga? Fellas.... we could be in the right timeline if they stopped making the shitty animated Berserk, start from scratch and just have Castlevanias team handle that shit considering how well that show's been doing.... ooo boy...
I had basically the same reaction. I've read only part of one manga before Berserk, and that was The Land of the Lustrous because I heard so many good things about it. That was a couple weeks prior to starting Berserk. Now I'm at the beginning of the 24th volume after a week of almost non-stop reading whenever the possibility arises, even at work and omg it's so amazing I just can't get over it. It makes me mad that I can't recommend it to anyone because I have no friends who would ever consider reading a manga. I never considered reading a manga before! And it came from my own drive, so I don't think I can force them. But man, ignore that. One thing I have to say about this manga is that it completely shattered my expectations. I've only heard of Berserk as a story about a badass warrior with a huge sword gore-ifically slicing through scary demons, but now that I've come so far I know that it is SO MUCH MORE! It's such an amazing, emotional story with superb characters and the art isn't just gore it's also so much beauty. This manga has it all. Everyone should read it.
For me it was helluva hard to read at first. It's so damn gory I think I was about to stop reading it a couple of times (was reading when the manga was around 30 volumes at first). I was depressed and angry at Griffith for like months after reading the eclipse-part. It was like I was feeling what Guts was feeling or something. It's one crazy manga and my favorite, even though it was a bit to crazy and emotional for me to read at first (the amount and level of violence, gore, rape, sadness, unfairness and no hope in sight for many of the volumes when Guts were alone).
The tragedy and violence of Berserk (and its unparalleled artwork) is what makes Berserk the greatest manga of all-time. Not even going to say opinion. It's a fact! You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.
I'm halfway through the manga, it's so great plus this is actually the only manga I've read from start to finish and I normally don't read any manga at all. Am I the only one who spends like 20-25 minutes a chapter? I don't know how it's compared to other manga but it's so beautiful and for almost every page. I try to take it all in because it's just too damn beautiful to rush through it.
I watched the Anime which made me buy the Manga, holy fucking shit the Manga has so much more brutal as fuck storylines in it that the Anime missed out/couldn't add
This video got me to berserk. After getting this on my recommended randomly I went to the description and for the music used, binged susumu hirasawa's forces that night for at least 2 hours. Searched up berserk panels, what the manga is like. Started reading berserk the very next day. This was more than a year and a half ago and I'm still in love with it.
Don't worry guys. We will see the ending. When the author dies, berserk will go on a huge hiatus till we die too. Then we'll be able to read it in another world.
No it's trash . It has just sex scenes and gore .I don't know why people read it .people get into hype . Berserk aot and naruto were the worst fucking things I ever read or watched .
@@Amanshakeel345 It literally revolutionized the dark fantasy genre that we know today but whatever it's your opinion. What mainstream things do you like (that are better than this) then?
My consecrated people, I'm rereading Berserk and calmly thinking this work passed to me was that being happy full time is nothing but an illusion, true happiness comes from spontaneous moments when we can let our guard down, and show who we really are and trust people who are on our side, maybe that was the most important message that Miura (creator of the work) left and I'm grateful for that.
