In my opinion, the choir version is the most epic I think Scott is an amazing and generous artist. And I don’t think he has ever done a song the same way twice in his life!😊
I loved his Official video of "Mars" as it was high quality movie and tells you exactly what he is talking about. It was Mark that first said to Scott "I don't think you are human, you must be from Mars."
Nick, fantastic reaction as usual. Another great song of Scott's is "Four". He wrote it as wedding song for Mark -- makes me sob every time (in a good way)
Scott is my favorite artist right now. He has an amazing voice that can only be described by other worldly. This version of this song is my favorite. It's so raw and his high notes are an out of body experience.
Thanks for doing this, Nick. There's a whole album of Scott's ( It's HOYING, btw...might wanna fix your title) solo pieces called parallel. which is another great song of his and so is Four...which he sang to his freshly married husband at their wedding.
@@nickforell1 , I forgot to mention...Scott just dropped a brand new solo on his YT Channel (scotthoying), Flaunt It. He wrote engineered and produced it, so no worries about it getting blocked.
I adore this version of the song. No time to read the other comments, so people probably already told you this, but he did three versions of this song (official video, acoustic, and choir), and all three have slightly different lyrics. It's worth watching all three even if you don't react to the others. Edited to add: oops 4 versions, I forgot about the Kelly Clarkson one which is also fantastic!
I found it! ❤ I didn't notice you had two PTX lists. I've got some catching up to do! Time to binge watch your reactions, lol. That raw, gritty, voice...omg Right? Goosebump City! I love watching your face Vulnerable is the perfect word That was great. Off i go for more 😊
Scott wrote this as a gift to his (then) fiancé (now) husband, Mark Manio Hoying. I'm not sure who it was that said "If you want to be rich and famous, first try just being rich and see whether that's enough to satisfy you." Whoever it was had an excellent point; fame must be a great burden. Just for starters it makes it difficult to meet people who see YOU, and not just your fame. Fame sets people apart, it isolates them, and Scott is obviously aware of this in his own life. I'm so glad that, against all odds, Scott and Mark found each other.
I think you misinterpreted the meaning of the song, you should watch his official video and you will understand. It was about his partner and their love but not in a sad way at all. It’s actually so loving.
I like the studio (official video) version of this, but it's a bit overproduced for my taste. My favorite version is the one he did live on Kelly Clarkson's show, a shorter version with just him at the piano. I love Scott's piano arrangements; I heard him say in an interview once that he had been thinking about a career like John Legend's -- singer / songwriter at the piano -- before Pentatonix happened. Here's the Kelly Clarkson version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uJl2HHUqEEY.html
This was a fabulous performance. You should also do the video, which has a beauty of its own. This has more emotion, but the video is so sweet and well done as well.
